Yeah there are different tickets depending on what you want to do. A general ticket to enter the area (Giza Necropolis) that you must always purchase, and additional tickets if you wish to enter any pyramids. Here's a website that shows the most current prices for sites all around Egypt egymonuments.com/
Hi, great job with the information you’re providing in your videos. My wife and I are going to be there next week and was wondering if you’re available as a guide?
Hi there, thanks for watching! Wow, you want me to be your guide? Thank you for even considering that! 😅I have led a few tours in the past (other subscribers have asked, and I was available). I would say yes, but I teach English online and my schedule is pretty full for the next 2 weeks, so I don't think I can be available to lead any day tours in that timeframe, unfortunately...But perhaps I can meet you two for coffee or something, if you guys have time while you're here in Cairo.
@@Gventures My wife is attending a conference (Tuesday - Thursday) and we should have a better handle on our schedule once we get in town. We ended up booking a tour to the pyramids on Monday and a trip to Alexandria on Friday. We leave the following Sunday.
Back in the day, you could simply walk in into the area from all directions. I used to fend off the touts by harassing them to buy one of my bracelets. "I know, you American, buy my bracelet and I will take you to my brother's perfume shop and then my other brother's for some real banana peel papyrus, not the fake banana peel stuff". Cairo, love the place!
Watched a few of your videos as I am visiting Cairo in November. I have just paid 900 EGP online for an entrance ticket on the official site; although the quoted price was 540 EGP. Is it higher price because November is classed as peak season?
As far as I know it's 540. Did you accidentally buy the ticket to ENTER the pyramid? That's different than the general ticket to get into the complex. It's an additional ticket
Days? To see the pyramids of Giza? You only need a few hours to see the Pyramids of Giza. If you want to see the pyramids of Saqqara and Darshur then you will need another day for that, or book a tour. But you can go to the Pyramids of Giza on your own and a few hours would be enough 😊
Excellent vlogs, your tips are helpful. I love your fashion it’s great. I see some foreign girls wearing shorts and revealing clothes in Cairo, they have no respect for the culture or the locals. I am 76 yrs young and going to Egypt with my daughter in 8 weeks time, we will make sure we dress appropriately. Thanks again for your advice.
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate that. And yes I agree, some foreigners that come to visit disregard the culture completely, which I don't love. One should be respectful of the culture and customs of place one is visiting, after all we are guests in their country. I'm glad you've found my videos helpful, and thanks so much for watching!!! You're going to love it here, it's chaotic and wild, yet also charming and filled with many wonderful people. And the food is delicious ❤😊
Thanks for the info! Though, for next time I may suggest showing the prices in USD for everything (you did for the pyramid entrance which was great!).. because the inflation in Egypt is just out of control and is now at a different rate from your post just two weeks later
@@Gventures you did for the pyramids entry prices, and then only EGP for the rest of the video, like the camel rides for example. But I just binged all of your other videos and realized you usually always include USD, so my bad for judging just on this single video! Hey by the way, thank you so much for these videos.. You're the first person to have soothed my growing anxiety about my visit to Egypt next week. The internet makes it out to be a terrifying nightmare and I was starting to regret my upcoming trip, but you make it look so easy and pleasant. Seriously, thank you so much for this relief I'm feeling now, and keep filming cool stuff :)
@@soupisgood44 Oh dang, I didn't realize I didn't put USD as well! That sucks 😥But thanks for letting me know. And you weren't judging, you were just giving a suggestion, which was a good suggestion, I usually do, I guess I must have just missed a few of the prices in this video. Oh you're coming to Egypt next week, that's awesome! Lol yeah the internet is full of SCAMS! and HARASSMENT! 🤣I mean yeah they exist here but it isn't everywhere all the time (depending on where you visit) and you just gotta know how to handle it right. I love Egypt 😁Are you solo traveling? How long are you coming for?
@@Gventures haha good to hear, I'm imagining the vibe to be on par with Morocco in terms of harassment (but I was solo back then), so will be interesting to compare. Visiting Egypt for a month with my partner, will spend 10ish days in Cairo specifically because my bf is determined to soak in as much "Cairo grit" as we can 😅 oh boyyy
I used this video as a guide in March of 2024. The information is still pretty current except for admission to the grounds is now 540 Egyptian pounds. I would add a couple more tips. Buy your ticket online to avoid waiting in line. Bring twice the amount of water you think you will need. Between the sun and wind I dried out quickly. While there were some touts it was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Thanks Miss G fir the video. It was very helpful.
@@robertw8666 Lol oh wow! I hear you, that jetlag messed me up when I first arrived, and jetlag has never really messed with me before in the past, even when I was in Asia. How long are you in Egypt for??
To enter the area, yes, you have to buy a ticket and pass through security. Scammers? Well I mean, when people are talking about scammers, they are generally talking about people just trying to charge you more than you should be paying for something. And plenty of the guys that "work" down by the pyramids (camel guys, horse carriage guys, etc.) do work there selling their stuff and are allowed into the area, they are just trying to charge people more than they should for a ride. But also, many foreigners (especially ones from country's with strong currencies) don't feel like it's that expensive to pay for a camel ride or a horse carriage ride, even with the higher prices these guys try to charge foreigners. So many of them just say "Okay" and take the ride without bargaining.
The thing I'll add, 'cause I was there 2 days ago, is you may encounter guys at the ticket office who are there to "help." May have a badge on a lanyard, which I guess is legit, and there is no friction between them and the ticket window person. Maybe these guys are legit employees of the venue, or licensed vendors, IDK. Either way, they are hustlin' (which I respect). They will want to negotiate a ride on a horse-drawn carriage and will likely tell you the area is 'too big for walking.'' Your own level of energy and fitness should guide you on that one. Just know that whatever price for a ride gets agreed to, the drover will want a tip at the end, so factor that into your negotiations.
Nice, you're going to love Egypt! Not sure if I will be available when you're here, I work a lot. But you can message me when you are here and see. Thanks for watching!
I'm not sure, I am not a tour operator, just a girl that lives here and makes TH-cam videos. I usually take the bus or ride my motorcycle if I am traveling around Egypt, I rarely ever fly, so I really have no idea, sorry! I have also never been to Hurghada. This is something you will have to search for online. Good luck!
Unfortunately I don't know of a place to rent a motorcycle. Maybe you could look it up online..? I have never rented a motorcycle here, I decided to just buy my motorcycle here in Cairo. They also have Uber motorbike if you are just looking to get around quickly to different places in the city. Have you been to Cairo or driven here before? You know the traffic is crazy, right? No lanes, no signaling, no laws (that anyone follows)
@@Gventures thank you. I never been in Cairo but I have been in different arabic country and from video of yours looks exactly the same 😂i asked about rent in few different fb groups but no one knows anything or siad yes i know and ignore questions about adres...tried searching online too but without clarity. Anyway thank you for your replies.
@@marcinko5861 I don't understand your question, are you asking a question about rent....? And if you are, what are you asking? Is it easy to rent an apartment, how long are the contracts, how much is rent? I guess I don't really understand your plans or what you want to know. I haven't been to other Arab nations yet, but I have been to India and the traffic reminds me a lot of India. But if you're confident and comfortable doing it here, more power to you!
@@marcinko5861 Alright, well good luck! If I hear of anything I'll message you and let you know. But I don't think it's very popular here to rent vehicles, that may be why you aren't finding a lot about it online. People living here either take local transportation or purchase their own vehicle. And tourists/foreigners visiting usually never want to drive here

Do you need transportation inside the complex? What can you see on foot if you take an uber to the pizza hut for example? Should we do one of those private tours with a driver and guide instead? I don't mind it with a big group, but it feels strage for me to do it with like 4 people.
All of these questions aren't really possible for me to answer because it will depend on preference. I don't think you need transportation inside the complex, but if you are elderly, have physical disabilities or tire easily, you may prefer a horse carriage ride or something. If you want to go to "Panorama View" it's a long walk, so most people like to take the camel rides out to that view point. Pizza Hut lies directly outside the Sphinx entrance into the complex, you can easily walk from there to the Sphinx and the 3 pyramids, though the furthest one is a little bit of a trek. You can see a bit of that walk in this video th-cam.com/video/eM5Yrej-P4k/w-d-xo.html I've never taken a tour to the Pyramids of Giza, but I hate tours and especially group tours, so I almost never take tours anywhere, unless I am forced to. If you feel more comfortable doing that, then you can, of course. That one is definitely just preference.

@@Gventures thank you for the detailed answer. I like to do things on my own and don't mind walking either. Will look into the details on how to get to the view point using a horse carriage . I honestly would feel very strange to have a private guide and driver for ourselves.
Yeah, it's not necessary for a guide, in my opinion. At other ancient sites around the country, a guide may have some added benefits, like in ancient temples in Luxor or something, so they can explain what you're looking at, but even then, I never choose to do that. But the horse carriages can only take the roads as they can't go through the sand, so if you want to get to Pyramids Panorama View area without walking, you'll have to either pay for a camel ride, or maybe a horse if that's being offered without the carriage.
Yes, but just a few. I've been to Luxor twice, once for a wedding (only made 2 short videos that time), and the last time I went I rode my motorcycle from Cairo and made a few more videos. All of those videos can be found in this playlist on my main page: Upper Egypt: Explore the south of Egypt in places like Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel and More: th-cam.com/play/PLSI2ywwuZ8MCzqQYbUYnOrIQBvkCLxg24.html
I also suggest that you translate your video clips into Arabic through a program on Google that translates any video into a language you want a written translation on the screen I do not remember the name of the program the interpreter but I will search for it for you because when you translate your videos into Arabic, you will get new followers and subscribers from Egypt on the channel and you will become popular quickly I wish you success and you are always welcome in Egypt
Agree... Gotta be careful out there. I used to work in NYC (Battery Park) selling VIP tickets for the Staten Island Ferry, and always got my customers the best seats!
I will be back in Cairo soon and every time I am there I always go to my Pyramids, I will let you know next time, come interview me LOL, if you want, Breakfast on the roof top in front of the Pyramids is great, on manager always invites me home for family meal and its camel every time, my favorite. Cheers
Interview YOU? 🤨🤣 Yeah I've been up to plenty of those restaurants, it's a nice place to chill sometimes, although I can't say I've ever had a GREAT breakfast up there, and the prices are way too high for what it is 😅 That's nice you've made a friend with one of the managers though, Egyptians are so friendly and welcoming, I love how they will just open their home to a complete stranger. I've made friends with one of the guys who works down by the pyramids and been to his home several times, had lunch, etc. Never ate camel at his house, but of course I've had it several times before, it's very commonly eaten in Kirdasah.
No, I film with my action camera on a gorilla pod with a small mic attached. It is much more obvious than a camera phone on a selfie stick. I have noticed that it really does depend on the mood of security at the site you are entering. I usually do not have any issues bringing my filming equipment into ancient sites, but I sometimes do (like at the Citadel of Qaitbay in Alexandria, or the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa in Alexandria-they made me leave my action camera at security, and I picked it up when I was exiting. The main reason they did that was the mic, I think. It looks a lot more official than a simple phone a tourist would have on a stick). You shouldn't have any issues with a phone though, everyone has that and I've never seen anyone having issues with it. My suggestion is to just put everything away in your bag until you have passed through security though, and once you are a good distance away from the security checkpoint, then take it out. Never walk in filming, as that will bring attention to you (and police do not want to be filmed) and may cause them to give you a problem with your equipment, whereas they would probably not say or do anything if it was just in your bag when you first enter. Egypt is full of ancient wonders and millions of people visit Egypt every year, and of course they are bringing their cameras and phones to take photos of all the history. It is fine and allowed, but like I said, it can depend on the mood of security, so to make it easier on yourself, wait to start putting it all together and filming until you have passed through security and are within the ancient site.
@Gventures 100% thank you! I have my gopro and hadn't decided how to take it but this really helps me! I want to say thank you again. All your videos have been amazing and I can't wait to see your channel grow

@@chateauBoudreau Yeah the prices I was giving are in the Egyptian Pound (called "ginay" here). But the prices have been raised since I made this video. Now the general ticket costs 540 EGP ($17.47). The ticket to get inside the Khufu pyramid is more, I think like an additional 900 EGP or something like that. Also, you can't pay with cash anymore, you need to pay with a card for the ticket. There are all recent changes. I talk about that briefly in this more recent video: th-cam.com/video/Il6pZFgyl_I/w-d-xo.html And if you're curious about the cost of things in Egypt, keep your eyes out for my video uploading this Sunday, I give prices of a lot of different things here in Egypt (from drinks at bars to hotels to taxis to groceries)
Your country is awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome! Thank you for watching Hager, and I hope some day you will be able to return and visit your beautiful country, and eat the delicious food I know you must miss! Thanks for watching, and happy new year! 🥰
No the dogs aren't dangerous, they keep to themselves. How many km? I'm not sure, I suppose it depends on everything you want to see and do there. It also depends on the ages of your children, and the time of year you visit. I just went to film there yesterday and it was 42 degrees, I wanted to collapse after only an hour or 2 🤣 But there are articles that can tell you how many km it is. The pyramids are located next to each other, several hundred meters apart. The "pyramids view" is much further and people usually ride camels out there if they want to go for the panorama view point. It's a big area
The only thing is if you don't want anything, you can say thank you and walk away. No one will stop you. You talk about a lot of things and it was very useful. But I also like Egypt. This is what happens to me when I visit the pyramids. The easiest thing is to say thank you and walk.
You are mistaken about that. I have been to the pyramids many times (I live a half hour away from them) and have personally experienced their persistence on many occasions. Not all the vendors will hassle you, but many of them do and do not take no for an answer. You have to say no several times before they give up. It's on videos all over the internet though, I am sure you can see. And as I have been down there 5 or 6 times, I can also say it's not ALWAYS the case. Sometimes I have been barely spoken to. It depends on the day, time of year, time of the day you go, and many other factors.
If only those who "built" it were not a part of it. There's the Sphinx. 2:02 and there's the dog that is behind you. 2:33 $20 for the entrance or do the $18.20 so as to scale back. Oh to bring "it" with you. Yes bring all that is need for "it". I would just want to see it but "respect" can go far then while visiting it. I say really look into it. I wonder if the "government" posters are in fact real. They make their living.
Uh, what is this comment even? It doesn't make any sense to me, almost seems like senseless babble 😆 In regards to prices, because I do understand that bit of your comment: When I made this video the exchange rate was 240 EGP = $9.70 USD. With inflation and other factors, 240 EGP is now $7.77 USD. Prices of things with inflation mean prices have gone up since I first arrived here 1.5 years ago. The Egyptian pound has also lost value since I first arrived. When I first came to Egypt $1 USD was 15 EGP. Now $1 USD is 30.90 EGP. Rates fluctuate but it lost a lot of value after the war with Russia began. As I made clear in the video, I doubt the poster is real or posted by the government, so you are repeating what I already pointed out in the video. The price for a one hour camel ride is 200 EGP for Egyptians. That is what one should be paying, not 600, or 1,000, or whatever else people will try to charge a foreigner (I have heard of people paying $100 USD for a camel ride 😆). If a foreigner wants or is willing to pay more, that is fine, that is their choice. I would suggest tipping well if you want to pay more, but pay the rate that Egyptians are paying, because that is what is fair here. Just as in India, one must be aware of scams and getting overcharged here. If you have watched videos about Egypt from various travelers you will know what I am talking about. Good day to you!
@@qalisim You and everybody else have seen those videos 🤣Good luck to the tourist that tries to get a 100 camel ride. My boyfriend is Egyptian and works in tourism, their company pays the Egyptian price to their connections (the camel owners) and then the company charges the tourists more (like all tourist companies), but trust me even they are paying more than 100. Especially now with inflation.
I might not be the best person to ask that as I almost never hire guides and don't particularly like guided tours, just because I prefer to walk around on my own and usually I feel like guided tours are a bit rushed (also I don't remember all the information as it is so much 😅). So my answer is no, you don't need a guide. In my opinion there are two benefits from hiring a guide. One: the historical information, and so you know what you're looking at. Two: They probably keep all (or most) of the vendors down there away from you so you aren't hassled so much. That's what I hear anyway. But you don't need a guide. I like to walk around a listen to some good music that fits the scene and spend as much time in each place as I want. But it comes down to personal preference.
That could be one quick way to rid of them 🤣I have sometimes asked "For free?? Okay! For free, yes!" and they look so defeated. That is usually after I tell them no to their offer and they persist. Whatever works 😅
🤣Too much BS? I'm giving advice to people that are new to this type of environment and don't know how to handle themselves. For people that are well traveled, just walk in, ignore (or engage and barter), and enjoy. People that have traveled a lot (especially to developing countries) already know how to deal with this so they don't need this video

@@Gventures No, the ticket to enter Great Pyramid was extra. I was charged 700 instead of 540 for general admission.
Good advice
Hi great video, how many days do you recommend for people who are travelling to this area to see the pyramid
Days? To see the pyramids of Giza? You only need a few hours to see the Pyramids of Giza. If you want to see the pyramids of Saqqara and Darshur then you will need another day for that, or book a tour. But you can go to the Pyramids of Giza on your own and a few hours would be enough 😊
efficient and informative video, thanks from Shanghai
Thank you! 🥰🙏
thanks for the info gal
No problem dude! 😄
Good video thanks for the info
Thanks Rob!
Didn't I put the price in USD and EGP both for everything? I thought I did...
@@soupisgood44 🤣Oh well that won't be too hard, it'll be blasted into your face when you arrive. Hang on and enjoy the ride! 🤣
Thank you Robert! Are you in Egypt now??
Yes, and having a great time except for the jetlag.
@@robertw8666 Lol oh wow! I hear you, that jetlag messed me up when I first arrived, and jetlag has never really messed with me before in the past, even when I was in Asia. How long are you in Egypt for??
Happy new year darling becin hurghada feb so your so helpful with every thing x
Awesome! Thank you Annie! I still need to visit Hurghada sometime, the Red Sea is so beautiful!
In March 2023, I entered the pyramid of Khufu. It is a miracle 🗻🥇 thanks for video
How do all the scammers enter?
Do you have to show your ticket and enter a gate or what
To enter the area, yes, you have to buy a ticket and pass through security.
Thank you , hope to see you around next month june '24
I'll be coming to Egypt by January, Hope to see around when i come and hangout a little🙄
Nice, you're going to love Egypt! Not sure if I will be available when you're here, I work a lot. But you can message me when you are here and see. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Badass earrings too.
Haha, thank you! Stylin! 😆😎
Bonjour je voudrais aller de Hurghada Le Caire par avion y’a t’il des avez pas très cher low-cost s’il vous plaît 🙏
Good luck!
Hi Gisselle sorry to asking here but do you any place where i can rent a motorcycle 125 from in Cairo please
@@Gventures just want to find a place where i can rent motorcycle/scooters for few days.
Will keep searching.
You can see a bit of that walk in this video
th-cam.com/video/eM5Yrej-P4k/w-d-xo.html
I've never taken a tour to the Pyramids of Giza, but I hate tours and especially group tours, so I almost never take tours anywhere, unless I am forced to.
Have you done a video of Luxor?
Yes, but just a few. I've been to Luxor twice, once for a wedding (only made 2 short videos that time), and the last time I went I rode my motorcycle from Cairo and made a few more videos. All of those videos can be found in this playlist on my main page:

I will be back in Cairo soon and every time I am there I always go to my Pyramids, I will let you know next time, come interview me LOL, if you want, Breakfast on the roof top in front of the Pyramids is great, on manager always invites me home for family meal and its camel every time, my favorite. Cheers
Interview YOU? 🤨🤣
Yeah I've been up to plenty of those restaurants, it's a nice place to chill sometimes, although I can't say I've ever had a GREAT breakfast up there, and the prices are way too high for what it is 😅 That's nice you've made a friend with one of the managers though, Egyptians are so friendly and welcoming, I love how they will just open their home to a complete stranger. I've made friends with one of the guys who works down by the pyramids and been to his home several times, had lunch, etc. Never ate camel at his house, but of course I've had it several times before, it's very commonly eaten in Kirdasah.
Do you normally film with a phone on a lm extension pole? Is that allowed in most places?

What? Guinea? Count what out?
I came here to ask this, the price of the pyramid complex is in what currency? It sounds like gin-ay? Asking because I’m ignorant 😂
I talk about that briefly in this more recent video: th-cam.com/video/Il6pZFgyl_I/w-d-xo.html

Can I use my mastercard to buy tickets? Tnks
You should be able to, but I've only used visa myself.
I see some dogs around the pyramids. Are they dangerous?Around how many km you should walk to see all attractions? We are with 2 children.
@@Gventureswe will come in about 1 week and my children are 7 and 10 years old.

I would recomend going in November, Ist should be not that hot Nor Cold.
It doesn't make any sense to me, almost seems like senseless babble 😆
In regards to prices, because I do understand that bit of your comment: When I made this video the exchange rate was 240 EGP = $9.70 USD.

This isn't my first video about them, just information for people who haven't been and are searching for it before going 👍
Do we need a guide?
But it comes down to personal preference.
happy new year
Happy New Year to you too!
I will make them pay me to get on a camel. Bartering 101
That could be one quick way to rid of them 🤣I have sometimes asked "For free?? Okay! For free, yes!" and they look so defeated. That is usually after I tell them no to their offer and they persist. Whatever works 😅
What is the need for bathrooms? There are trees and we are in Egypt
Foreigners have asked me about the bathrooms in the past so I included it in the video 😆
Fuk all dat, Just too much BS... will see it from a Distance
