Journaling and Scrapbooking is a great alternative from social media. There you don’t have to be validated by others. If you wanna show your real friends your cool photos, show them your scrapbook. Or maybe even your journal. Receiving a card or a phone call from someone is so much better than all those fb birthday notification. Sometimes you have to let people go when their chapter has ended in your life, but social media is making it hard to let them go especially when they no longer care and you’re the one still wanting to hold on to them. Not seeing them with their lives on social media, really makes it easier for you to move on.
I like what you say about making it harder to let people go. I can definitely relate. Journaling has been very helpful for me! I find it helps me clear my brain.
I quit April 2020, because of covid I was using social media 6-9 hours a day..it was unhealthy.... the best thing I did, I feel so much better not being affected by people's political views and problems.. Now just focus on my life.
It's been more than 2 months since i quit social media. It really feels good to make ur mind free of unnecessary stuffs all the time and also enhances ur power to achieve ur goal. I'm in harmony now.
@ninja gg There is nothing good or bad....its upon u how u feel about it...so for me it was way more annoying and distracting so i decided to quit it and its been about 3 months since i quit social media and i won't lie to u that i have become so productive and bla bla but one thing that i have noticed about myself is i live in harmony now and my self restraint has improved much and also i don't miss posting pics and reading memes. I do take pics and selfies but just keep it to me and in addition to this i'll say Am happy😊
I have been off of all social media accounts except YT for 3 months and it has been wonderful. I don’t see myself going back. I am happier, more productive, more confident and I have been able to strengthen my real life relationships. To me, YT doesn’t really count as social media because I use it more from an observer perspective. It is crazy what drinking water and minding your own business can do for your mental health lol
I love that, "It is crazy what drinking water and minding your own business can do for your mental health." Because it's the simple things that really do make a big difference over time! Good for you. 😁
Well done to you! :) I’ve been off social media for 2 months now and I find that I don’t compare myself to others as much and I focus more on my life and goals. TH-cam keeps me inspired and I watch things that I’m interested in 💕
I just deleted instagram and snapchat instantly😂. Relationships totally are superficial. I struggled with it at first because it was a way for me to spread my photography. I realized that there are so many other resources to develop my art. My concentration and productivity have increased significantly!
So true about the superficiality of relationships. It’s like the only way I know what my social circle is up to is only on social media, which is super annoying. I purposely stop posting stories because it forces people to reach out.. that’s IF they truly care
i quit my social media two months ago, and i don't have any intentions of going back, my anxiety decreased soo much, thanks for making this video, i needed to hear this
I quit my social media at the beginning of the year. I was planning to do it for three months but I have been so productive, I think I will never go back. I kept youtube because I use it as a search engine. So far so good.
I am SO glad you mentioned that. Initially, I was very worried that my channel would not grow BECAUSE I do not have social media. I wondered whether or not I should even bother making a channel because most TH-camrs grow using social media. My take on it was this: "If I am going to have a channel, then I I first and foremost have to be true to what I value and what I believe in. And if I provide value, then my content will speak for me." I started 3 months ago and now have 100 subs. Maybe it's small compared to those who use social media to promote their channel, but I don't compare myself to other channels. If you have a message to share and you add value to someone's life, then perseverance is all you need. Go for it! At least you will know you tried.
@@wearestoriez Thank you! It actually motivates me more to see that what I'm doing is helping someone. So plan that first video! I'd love to do a 'shout out' when you publish it. 😁
You described me perfectly! I was comparing myself to other people and my self-esteem got lower and lower until I finally decided to just step away from social media for a while. It's been 9 days and I really don't miss all the gossip, political posts, and photos of other people's food.
I delete my facebook maybe almost 2 years now. I lost my interest also in Instagram. I deactivated my ig account almost a month now. And i dont have any interest to come back online and see cringey and superficial living a perfect life post of random people. I rather read books , watch documentary, go to gym everyday, learn new things and spend time in nature alone with my bike. Without seeking for any validation of other people online. Having social media is toxic. Even you do it moderately. But, Living without social media gave me peace. 😊☕
Social media gives you an overinflated sense of self importance. 90% of your followers don't care about you. Just try going off social media for a month without telling anyone and you'll realise that most of your followers won't even notice. Why? Because you're just another profile to look at or scroll past. If your profile's gone, they'll just look at all the other profiles and carry on. You really don't miss out at all. Yes, you might have less interactions but I guarantee the interactions will be far more genuine and real
I couldn’t agree more. I remember my birthday after leaving Facebook, only 2 friends actually called to congratulate me. They are still my friends to this day. Well said!
It’s actually funny 😆 after 2 months being off social media no one even contacted me 😂 that says a lot, only people who care they contact me on my phone number which they always have done.
Thank you for this! I stopped social media yesterday for being left on read too much and felt like I was being taken for granted so I quit.. maybe it isn’t for the right reason but now, it feels like I don’t even feel the need to be wanted anymore and can just focus on myself
Congratulations! It's HARD to quit social media because we all want to feel a sense of belonging and connection, but sometimes it does the opposite. I'm sorry for your experience. I've been there. Good for you for deciding to take the time to focus on yourself more. Best wishes to you!
How did this video just come up at the right time?? I had been scrolling through social media comparing myself to other people and feeling crappy. Ty for this!
I'm gonna detox social media, I will finish my bachelor, masters and PhD without it. I've done it before and it paid me very well, gonna do it again, this time for a veryyyyy long period 🌼 Say No To Mental Stress 😃
This is truly inspiring! Social media has precipitated many problems in my personal life and marriage. The wife & I decided to go “against the crowd”! We are now perceived as “leaders” by friends, family, and relatives!!
Always cracks me up how everybody is taking photos and selfies instead of enjoying themselves. Like they need validation that what they’re doing is fun. Do you think social media give you false interest? Im tied of messages about pyramid schemes 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ oils and mum support teams, travel and make money while doing it blah blah it’s constant.
I did 30 day fasts from social media this year and loved it each time. A couple weeks ago I deleted all the apps from my phone and only get on through my computer. I found this keeps me off of it allot more and I really enjoy it actually. I don’t feel the pressure to check it and post all the time like I did previously. My main reason is to more present and productive. It’s definitely working for me
I deleted all my social media accounts yesterday and I already feel so much more connected with REALITY. Thank you for this great video to help get over the addiction and never turn back.
Thank you Yesi. After viewing this I went outside to do some yard work in the cactus garden and immediately wanted to post...stopped...looked around...and was suddenly in the moment. I didn't HAVE to post. I was free to just enjoy the beauty. Thank you
YOU ARE A GODSEND !! I’m deleting social media (I had almost 10K followers on IG and ran my business completely through social media, but for many reasons I realized I need to make this decision for me) & your videos are sooo helpful
How do you continue to maintain your business w.o it? I'm curious cos I hate SM but ppl make it seem as if it's necessary for running a successful business these days
I was not in social media for past 3 years and initially it was hard but now I am really comfortable with myself and those real people in front of me...
I’ve not been on social media for the past 2 months and I feel a lot calmer, more focused on my own life and my goals. Being on social media makes me more anxious and stressed out because you’ve got people who pretend to have a perfect life and it makes me feel like my life is bad! But in reality people on social media only show you the good part and never the bad one! No one is perfect.
After my mother passed away i realised how prescious time is! Unfortantely i was a teen when social media became popular and came out (I'm 21) before quiting social media i was always saying "Sorry I can't make it because I'm busy" I wasn't busy I was just constantly on social media. Since quiting social media, I realised everyone who has my number is people I already talk to (under 50) I had hundreds of friends on social media. I don't miss it, time is prescious. Since leaving social media, i'm no longer stuck in my house scrolling, I'm always out and about visiting friends and family as well as work!
Your message is truly a beautiful reminder of the precious value of our time and the people around us. I am sure your experience has shaped who you are, and I hope you are doing well. Thank you so much for sharing this encouraging message! Best wishes to you.
I just don't why it has become such an addiction in today's world. A person without a social media is considered outdated and most of the times isolation and loneliness sweeps inside. It feels like whatever we are doing, whatever we are accomplishing , it is not for ourselves, it is just for people who don't care about us. Only if people could come forward and show their sad, depressing lives just like they show off easily their fake lives, it would have been a great platform.
thank you !! I watched this video yesterday, slept on it and finally made the decision to delete Instagram ! Will be deleting Facebook as soon as I have the phone numbers and birthdays of everyone I cherish. Was very daunting looking through all my followers and realising that there was just over a handful out of the 500 that I actually wanted to make an effort. I feel like I can focus on those that truly matter and hopefully be more productive as a result. Excited to claim back my time and my mental space, I wonder how I will feel in 5 years time ! Thank you !
You are so sweet and beautiful! I’ve watched a few of these social media detox/quitting SM videos and yours has been my favorite to date. Continue staying true to yourself and shining your light. Thanks for your inspiration and encouragement! I had a 5 month IG break in 2018, but decided recently that I’m ready for another break. Your video has helped solidify my decision. Thanks again and sending love and light to you! ✨
I quit Facebook years ago, people complain or say "dude you need facebook" thought about reopening it but only for connection benefits but honestly don't want to. This is an ongoing battle lol
I had to let social media go. Because people are just so judgmental, whenever I post pictures of myself not smiling, people criticise it. life is not all about happiness. I am all about honesty. And that is how I am in real life. I felt like I had to change to be accepted by people. So I deleted all of them.
I quit Facebook today and other social media pages because of the toxic, hateful and narcissistic people on there. It was a waste of time and energy. The popculture groups on there especially the anime and manga ones are full of obsessive, addicted, delusional and generally unhealthy fans who sends threats over my opinion on a series being my favorite or not and my reasoning on leaving a group. You can't unfriend people without the backlash either. It's insane.
I love this! I’m on a 21 day social media detox. I’m honestly considering leaving it too. Thank you for sharing your experience. So happy to be subscribing! ♥️ I’m also a TH-camr 😀
I quit the toxic parts of social media (for me) which was mostly just facebook, and then using other platforms purely professionally! I was just getting so fed up but this video made me see so many parts of myself I wasn't noticing (like the addiction to likes etc ...) Now I'm definitely never going back!! Thank you :)
Awesome! That’s really the whole point, I think - to know how it affects ‘you’ so you can have balance with it. I’m glad you’ve found a happy balance. 😊
0:56 This video is already relatable. It's insane.
i left social media recently and i realized social media screwed up what actual building relationship is. it portrays relationships as this instant click and follow thing and it's all fake. Real relationships and friendships develop gradually over time ebcause you have to go through multiple stages like stranger acquaintance shallow friendship deep friendship. i started to focus on real life socializing instead of digital socializing and really realized social media makes everyone anti social and it makes the whole society into a lonelier place. i think it's really the time we leave social media behind us. like i get the attempt but it didnt work. we should move on and work on actual building relationships in the real world. I remember before when i was making new friends as kids we called eachother to talk and have long conversations and thats how we built friendship. but now ppl just like and comment. You just cannot grow authentically closer to people this way. like ppl are so anti social and relationships are so shallow and surface level now compared to when i was young when it was all about actually talking and hanging out and getting to know eachother and growing closer. i noticed after leaving social media i had better social skills before i joined social media. it is wild how humanity as a whole got downgraded and became lonelier cuz of modern technology. im a millenial but i now understand when boomers were like put down the damn phones it really was harmful also my anxiety and sleeping problems went away when i left social media. i thought i was always an anxious person and i thought i was naturally like that but i guess i wasnt, i guess it really was social media. looking back it was overwhleming to see alllll these people that i dont even talk to anymore on socials and be digitally surrounded by their digital presence and it messed with my head in a relaly weird way
Such wise words. I think there’s a huge link between social media and loneliness. We have hundreds of “friends” but yet end up feeling lonelier. I couldn’t agree more. If it’s alright with you, I would love to share this comment in a future video. I think it could be helpful to others who have or are experiencing loneliness because of social media.
My opinion and experience on this matter:I very well understand the validation part. Sometimes people,me in this case, can do stupid things out of pure loneliness like leaving comments on social media or youtube, talking about random stuff, trying to sound smart and good and great and everything, asking for attention which is,I have to face it,kinda pathetic. I must admit people like me,lonely people, shy people, introvert people, people with low self-esteem find the internet as a paradise cause you are behind a computer, you don't talk to people directly and you can get validated. This is truth not only about social media, this is the truth about youtube too. You ask to be validated and when you get it,you're super high. And sometimes if you find someone who likes to be validated from you too it's even worse. But then when the reality hits you it's like wth am I doing? Because I, in this case get validation from others and those others get validations from me. You get high, they get high. But that's not real,we are in the freaking Matrix and in the real life we don't even freaking know each other. That's how messed up everything is. And then you start mixing internet and real life cause the high is too high to just leave it like that and you start to think that "Oh but we can get to know each other" or "Oh but what if this is the real thing",and you start to mix things and start to think that real life and the matrix can be the same thing. No. They can't be. We are only here for the validation and for the dopamine, that's it,that's the real thing. But the high is so high so you now start to think you have emotions or whatever. You are aware of the walls, the differences etc. but you ignore them cause hey, this is the real thing. And you feel good when you get back validation or feel bad when people don't do that. And you start to hate them if they don't respond to you or you get high again if they do. I personally became immune to this a long time ago, and I am too long on the internet to be truly affected by this kind of stuff,I know my reality,I know what is what, internet is internet, real life is real life and I don't mix those anymore. But that doesn't mean that out of sheer loneliness I'm not doing stupid sh*t like asking for attention or something like that. I just sometimes am not aware that people can take me too seriously, that is my problem and that is my fault. Also when you get validated from a person that you value in some way,the high is very high and it's hard in those moments to do a reality check. But when I do a reality check and when I get to my senses I cut things,I just put an end,no explanations needed, and that's it. Because that's the best thing for everyone. Ok,to be honest maybe it's the easiest thing for me,because I think it's best for everyone. From the middle of April I stopped drinking coffee,it was bad for my stomach,I felt anxious etc.and I stopped drinking it. Several days ago I said to one of my family members "That's it!I don't care about my stomach,I am making a coffee right now" and the family member answered me "We don't have any". I started to laugh because it was the third time that I said that and the third time I heard that same reply. When something is a problem you distance yourself from it .As for social media(and youtube, cause you can get validation from here too),it's good if you don't use them cause they can mess your brain completely. As for me,I have to say I didn't get rid of my phone completely, but I use it very rarely now. As for my computer, all the time I am just thinking on how to get rid of it.I don't want to spend my life being on the internet, being on social networks,I hate facebook,I hate twitter,I am 40 years old and I don't plan to spend the rest of my life commenting on youtube or whatever. I am not on youtube anymore because I don't want to be here. I can't wait to get rid of other things like facebook,I hated it for a long time but slowly,it will happen. Being in the internet makes me missing on my life,I got to my senses little bit too late but it's not late for others. Go people, get married, have kids, socialize with friends, live your life, don't get yourself in some whirlpool from which you can't escape, save yourselves. I know many years before I was reading about how in whatever country they had something like a rehabilitation center for internet addicts,I was laughing and thinking "Wth??"..But no,no,the internet CAN ruin your life, that's true. That my stance on this matter. I am here on youtube just for a while,a day or two and then I'm gone. I agree with all 6 points but I don't agree about youtube, youtube is more dangerous because it actually is not a social network so people may think that they can't have any problems and that they are safe. But it kinda is and it's not healthy to stay here too, except if you have a very cold attitude and stance on everything that happens here, like I do. Sorry for the long comment. Your video should get more views because this topic is important.
I have like a on and off relationship with social media. I joined in 2011 when Facebook was becoming popular and Myspace was declining. I left social media like Facebook, Twitter Reddit etc in 2018 for over 9 months just used Instagram but barely posted on it. I will say during those 9 months it made my life more productive and focused on my own life and not about what people are posting etc. I rejoined in late 2018 but a while later it made me realize it was a mistake to rejoin so I left again this January and it's been almost a year that I quit most of social media I only use Instagram but don't post much on it. I don't think I will ever return to social media anymore since I'm having fun living my life without distraction and doing more of my hobbies like working out, cleaning house, going to theater to watch movies without distractions. I will say life is much better without social media.
I have been ghosting social media for a while now since my life has been very hectic lately and I'll be honest in saying that I am greatful that it happened. I now realise how it stressed me out to see other people's lives that I was superficially friends with and how it stressed me to post because I gave people an opportunity to have a say/ question my life. I will not quit social media because of the benefits such as being able to save a multitude of videos in my memories in snapchat or following uplifting content on instagram with inspiring quotes. I am glad I watched this video because when I head back to social media I am muting so many people, unfollowing, blocking a lot of people. My peace of mind is my priority, not consuming content of other's lives or letting other's that are not close to me have access to my life. Thanks for breaking societal norms
Just deleted my social media today. Feels very different. Like you don't know what to do with your phone when you are bored or whom to stalk.. But then you realize you have a lot of time in a day to do things you love.. And by the end of the process you will know who all are your real ones. Using social media for a long time made me feel more alone and depressed and that's why i took the step. I hope i find clarity.
Thanks for sharing. I just quit social media. I personally don’t feel like it adds any real value to my life. So many things you mentioned about it were the same for me. I really want to focus on being more present in life and also have real life relationships. Anyways, have an awesome day! 🙂💖
Aren't you even on Instagram? Instagram is the worst of all. You aren't missing anything. I think about quitting social media too. Thank u for this video, i Love it
The only thing I have is TH-cam (which I didn't realize was social media when I posted), but I use TH-cam to learn new things or find inspiration. I try to avoid the scrolling for mindless entertainment. Thanks for watching!
@Yanni Rose From reading lots of other comments, you are not alone! I think a lot of us have felt that way. I definitely felt more insecure when I had it. I hope to post good info that may help, later this week. Thank you for sharing!
I called it Radio Silence 😂 I did quit social media for 30 days before. It helped my life easier, but now since I don't have a long distance partner anymore - its time to do that again. Except TH-cam! Its everything to me.
I liked this video because I don't have any social media accounts too. Just youtube's app, for improving my skill and learn new things. Like learn a foreign language maybe, English actually, Because I am Indonesian who most of people here doesn't speak in english. And yeah that's amazing, and sorry about my english not as perpect a native english speaker. Hehe keep going on. 🤗🤗
Your English is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your insight. I do agree that TH-cam can be very helpful for learning new things. I especially love that we can learn many skills for FREE. 😁
Too much cyberbullying, Bandwagoning, judging, and fakeness. Never had a Facebook and I'm glad. Never had Twitter either. Everybody hungers for popularity and validation do much, that they'll step on complete strangers to do it. Social Media has caused too much division and mental damage to everyone.
I'm so proud of you hehe 5 years is really long, i already quit social media also for about 1 year and it's really satisfying I find peace, treasure your few friends who'll support what you really want for yourself and not only after of showing off what you have.
I used to be very addicted to social media, but now I am going to limit my use of it due to the negative effects of social media! Btw interesting how this video has 54k views which is alot compared to your other videos which only have like hundreds or thousands of views!
Just started a 30 day social media detox. I uninstalled Facebook, Instagram, & Snapchat I didnt have any hesitation when deleting them, once I did I felt more at peace and not this feeling of fomo. I've noticed how toxic social media can really be and with fighting with depression and mental health I realized this isnt good for me and that I needed to live more in the moment and less on social media comparing myself to others famous or not.
@@YesiIbarra thank you so much! Since starting this whole no social media thing, I've only been on Facebook twice...the first time I literally checked my notifications and did some light scrolling then got off after posting about how I've been gone for 100 days. The second time I checked I spent 20 minutes on Facebook mindlessly scrolling and afterwards I regretted it and had wished I could've gotten those 20 minutes back. I've now seen a big difference in how much time I wasted on social media and I'm happier without it. So, again thanks for making this video!🙏🏼
Hi.. this video was in recommended feed I also watched some of your other videos, the content is really good. thanks for sharing your story, keep up the good work .I wish you to have more subscribers because you are putting some real good stuffs. All the best
One thing I want to mention here that when you do the work legit and truly resonate with you it's obvious that you grow and learn a lot. And when you go a step further to share and add value to the world it gets even more meaningful and adds the extra value to which you already had . Thanks for replying , I respect your time and energy to reply to my comment😊
Beautiful! I never was into social media. I found it an avtar of say, bimboism, so kept away from it not even having a personal fb page despite running a hospitality biz. Believe me, you don't need social media leverage when you have an original product to sell; the primary tools are more than enough. My extended family always, however, found it weird that I kept away from it. It didn't bother me what they thought but now I feel a need to educate them out of their bondage. Your video is very relatable and that perfect angle for a selfie haha. Thank you so much! More power to you n I have subscribed to your video.
Thank you for sharing! If you don't mind, I'd like to share your take on this in my next video where I'll answer questions and fears people have about leaving social media. Many people who have a business or want to start a business feel like they won't succeed without it. I love to see testimonies that we don't have to have it to do well. I completely agree!
Yes sure Yesi. Pl go ahead n thank you for asking. May I suggest you watch Dr Cal Newport's Tedtalk on this, if you don't know already? He articulates a scientific explanation for this n I was totally sold! If you want me to forward you the link pl do let me know. Cheers!
The time i ebjoy now is the best. Media is an addiction and was so taking away from enjoying living. I slowly weaning my way off but do enjoy tube in my spare time sometimes. Well today I made time to take a beautiful pic for my dad in law he has had an amaryllis plant for 2 years that never bloomed but for sone reason this week it blossomed omg it rght next to my ma in law s pic ( god rest her soul ) she loved 🌸 flower s ! We are going to make a big pic for our pic wall Well thank you fir posting and good luck to you hunny...your a beautiful lady and enjoy sone living. Life gos by fast !
Yes, I actually had to change the title of the video to say "except TH-cam" because I did not realize it it considered social media. I personally don't find a need to quit using TH-cam because I use it to learn from motivational people or learn new things.. like how to clean your burnt pan 🤣 It can be problematic though when we start mindlessly scrolling through suggested. I guess the key is to be mindful of how you're spending your time and whether or not it's doing you any good.
Also... some solid advice at the end! I have actually engaged in doing those things. Doing so has made a tremendous difference in my relationships with others! You truly know your audience! Kudos.
I was two years without Instagram. I went back cause I started a business figured it would need exposure. Well I regret it lol now it gives you the option to disable the account for a week, already did it once might keep doing it. Sometimes you just need a breather
I agree. And not giving people access to you who don’t deserve it, or value you. Life is do much more peaceful now.
YES
LOVE JOURNALING, will start scrapbooking again soon. Great suggestion!
This is such a good idea! Never thought of this before. Thanks!
30 days of quitting social media and thinking to do this for a year. Anxiety is real.
Good for you!! It is harder in the beginning, but it gets easier. You can do it!
I did one month without it and I feel less anxious! I think I'm going to do this for a year too.
@@alexandrapiers After a year, I would bet you probably won't want to go back 😁
Same here! 😊
Did you go for it Sofia? I’m thinking about doing a year off this year and wondering how your journey is going?

That's amazing, thank you for sharing that. I agree completely.
Exactly !! Nothing worse than listening to a retarded leftist lol
It's been more than 2 months since i quit social media. It really feels good to make ur mind free of unnecessary stuffs all the time and also enhances ur power to achieve ur goal. I'm in harmony now.

What are some ways you still share your photography and develop it without social media?
Yes, what ways have you used to share your photos? Without the clutter and superficial IG or Snap?
@@stepa3442 what are other ways to spread your photography
also curious about other ways to spread photography, please tell us!
So true about the superficiality of relationships. It’s like the only way I know what my social circle is up to is only on social media, which is super annoying. I purposely stop posting stories because it forces people to reach out.. that’s IF they truly care
I can relate. In a way it helps you find out who your real friends are and who you can actually count on.
I notice when I am not on social media, my real life relationships are much better bc I’m actually present fully!
Yes! That was exactly my experience when I deleted my Facebook account.
i quit my social media two months ago, and i don't have any intentions of going back, my anxiety decreased soo much, thanks for making this video, i needed to hear this
I quit my social media at the beginning of the year. I was planning to do it for three months but I have been so productive, I think I will never go back. I kept youtube because I use it as a search engine. So far so good.
Wow I think I would like to try this. I miss the 90s and early 2000s when we didn't have all of this stuff.
Maybe try it out for a week or so and see how it goes! 😊
@@YesiIbarra Ok thanks!
You inspire me to open a TH-cam channel without having other social media accounts
@@YesiIbarra that was very positive. I wish your channel would grow bigger and you spread positivity in pure way.
@@wearestoriez Thank you! It actually motivates me more to see that what I'm doing is helping someone. So plan that first video! I'd love to do a 'shout out' when you publish it. 😁
I did the same. take a picture post check the likes so freeing not to have this anymore comparing myself was so scary
You described me perfectly! I was comparing myself to other people and my self-esteem got lower and lower until I finally decided to just step away from social media for a while. It's been 9 days and I really don't miss all the gossip, political posts, and photos of other people's food.
Glad to know it’s working out for you! 😊
That's wonderful! Thank you for sharing that.
Well said!
@@YesiIbarra it's a good way to see who actually knows your birthday 😂😂😂

This is truly inspiring! Social media has precipitated many problems in my personal life and marriage. The wife & I decided to go “against the crowd”! We are now perceived as “leaders” by friends, family, and relatives!!
That's amazing! It makes all the difference when couples do it together.
No social media here and I feel extremely happy and free 👍🏼
Always cracks me up how everybody is taking photos and selfies instead of enjoying themselves. Like they need validation that what they’re doing is fun. Do you think social media give you false interest? Im tied of messages about pyramid schemes 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ oils and mum support teams, travel and make money while doing it blah blah it’s constant.
Yes! I used to be that way! I always had to post about the fun/interesting things I did. 😆

So true. It can be easy to lose sight of that. Thanks for sharing your encouragement for others! ❤️

@@YesiIbarra are you born again? (John 3:3) 🕊
It's been 5 months I quit.. bcoz I believe in living a life.
And I'm at better place where I should be..

I quit Facebook years ago, people complain or say "dude you need facebook" thought about reopening it but only for connection benefits but honestly don't want to. This is an ongoing battle lol
Lol I get what you mean about people trying to talk you back into it.
I had to let social media go. Because people are just so judgmental, whenever I post pictures of myself not smiling, people criticise it. life is not all about happiness. I am all about honesty. And that is how I am in real life. I felt like I had to change to be accepted by people. So I deleted all of them.
Yes!! So true.
Just deleted my FB account, took 3 years off then been on for a year. It’s just too negative with all the recycled news media post and political rage.
It's insane.

i left social media recently and i realized social media screwed up what actual building relationship is. it portrays relationships as this instant click and follow thing and it's all fake. You just cannot grow authentically closer to people this way. like ppl are so anti social and relationships are so shallow and surface level now compared to when i was young when it was all about actually talking and hanging out and getting to know eachother and growing closer. i noticed after leaving social media i had better social skills before i joined social media. it is wild how humanity as a whole got downgraded and became lonelier cuz of modern technology. im a millenial but i now understand when boomers were like put down the damn phones it really was harmful
also my anxiety and sleeping problems went away when i left social media. i thought i was always an anxious person and i thought i was naturally like that but i guess i wasnt, i guess it really was social media. looking back it was overwhleming to see alllll these people that i dont even talk to anymore on socials and be digitally surrounded by their digital presence and it messed with my head in a relaly weird way
Such wise words.
@@YesiIbarra sure you can share this comment! totally i hope everyone realizes this
My opinion and experience on this matter:I very well understand the validation part.
Wow, thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad to know you’re enjoying life more without it. 😊
This compiles the whole facts of social media that it's reality already has impacted in the world lives...
Awesome video, thx!

But then you realize you have a lot of time in a day to do things you love.. And by the end of the process you will know who all are your real ones.

Cheers!
@@GinzaGeorge I found it, thank you! This will be very helpful. I love to use statistics and science to give a better explanation.
I was seeking validation too and omg missing the outside world too ...being present is omg ..so much more productive !

@@jaysouthmusic8230 in 8-9 months since my break up, I have bettered myself and realized some stuff is inevitable and supposed to happen.
@@TallJai That is true
Does this include TH-cam because I find myself watching TH-cam videos more than I am on social media apps...
Yes, I actually had to change the title of the video to say "except TH-cam" because I did not realize it it considered social media. I personally don't find a need to quit using TH-cam because I use it to learn from motivational people or learn new things.. like how to clean your burnt pan 🤣
It can be problematic though when we start mindlessly scrolling through suggested. I guess the key is to be mindful of how you're spending your time and whether or not it's doing you any good.
@@YesiIbarra exactly the answer I was looking for 😂😂. Thank you so much. I could relate to each and every reason.
@@YesiIbarra actually TH-cam is the only app essential to me too😅
But TH-cam isn't social media though
I think I'm In love😌 this is the best video I've seen about this subject. Great content!
Also... some solid advice at the end!
Off topic, but your skin is AMAZING!!!
Well thank you! I must have good lighting 😁
After I watching this video, I decide to delete my social media, cause I relized I had been spending a lot time for something not beneficial.
So true, I’m off it for three months now 😀 I also find women more attractive when they don’t have social media 😍
