Agree. I've deleted instagram and tiktok and I feel fine. I have a lot of time to do other things now instead of posting or watching things that waste my time, I rather waste my own time

Yes! I think that is a great thing. Social media is very damaging. I deleted mine too a while ago, and I don't regret it either! Thank God for the strength He gives to do Great things in His name. Hallelujah!
I agree! Don’t miss it! It’s been several months for me and don’t have a desire to go back. So much more productivity, time studying the Bible, time with family, etc.. that would have been wasted scrolling through social media. Great video!
After quitting social media, I discovered more free time I never knew I had. Which was basically wasted 🤔 in the past on Facebook. My biggest push was I needed to be in a better place in my life and social media wasn't helping me find that place.
I'm considering calling it quits on Facebook soon. It's been taking a toll on my mental health. Having to see everyone else's good stuff in my news feed was starting to get me more and more depressed. I also got to the point where I let "likes" become validation for me. And after watching other people's videos about what it was like quitting social media, I thought to myself, "Well what would it be like for me?" So I may just do it in March this year for 31 days to see what happens.
im trying to quit my smartphone so badly ... but being a student its so hard to manage without the whatsapp group chats and classroom apps,.....but im trying my best to quit my phone completely

I joined Facebook February 2020 and was off completely by March of this year . That was my only social media platform besides TH-cam which I limit my time on , but in only little over a year I felt so drained from the drama and toxic so called Facebook friends that I’ll never go back and I’ve got my 13 year old dog that I’m spending more time with since I don’t know how much longer we have together.
It's my first day !! i'm doing small steps, first 3 days then aww how i feel, then 4 days and see how i feel, and so on. I'm super excited and definitely can't wait to see myself improve and grow
I unoffically quit Facebook years ago because I would get depressed seeing couples get engaged during college, and I could not take it anymore. I still feel that way in many ways as I get older and am still single. As former Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch said once (recently quoted by my favorite NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch in the new NASCAR commerical advertising the upcoming season), I basically tell Facebook that "I'm just here so I won't get fined". Basically, it exists so no one would ask why it does not. Anyway I have had to stop watching political videos entirely this month (even including Allie Beth Stuckey, which saddens me because her book from last year was great). I will not explain further here for personal reasons, but my mental health over the last year has taken a huge hit, and I feel scared to even have friends many days at this point (even in the roads enthusiast (or roadgeek) community that I have been involved with for over a decade now). I am thankful that I was able to gain one sister-in-Christ to interact with even though I found you (and your husband) through us critiquing Paul and Morgan over their stance on Hillsong and Bethel.
I definitely understand that. Social media can make you extremely dissatisfied with your own life when others are front and center! It definitely has helped me enjoy what I have and not covet what others have

I was worki g for the Department where it worked on psychology. People on the phones were on social media escapist to get away from reality and to endure through suffering. They were on the phones and on Yammer too for 8 hours straight. It also turned me into an internet addict and porn addict too something I am ashamed to admit but I was not aware. I have quit facebook, twitter and Yammer and instagram too. My head feels clearer and I have less anxiety too.
Im so happy for you. I started IG last year and am sooo stressed. I feel I need to be on it everyday and I'm not. I love how your channel is growing. Any tips on how to grow, I e been stuck at 386 subs and feel stuck.
IG was definitely becoming a “chore” for me too. I felt like I always had to update my stories and constantly know what others were doing... it’s been amazing not being on it anymore! My biggest advice is just being consistent and always try to learn more and improve your content :)
I deleted all my social media View minutes ago I'm trying to get off social media for good. I like your video you put some good information out there to understand better. I'm that type of person one minute I'm on social media and get off it none stop so it's just tiring and stressful for myself I get stressed out and I compare myself to other people and knowing everything you see on the internet is fake now days. So I deleted all my social media apps and accounts The other app I use to connect with family and friends is on Facebook messenger but I don't use Facebook I disable the app on my phone.
I jus listened to the video instead of jus scrolling tube quickly and taking it personal and responding wth out lot thought. Well I liked her reasons and can relate Well I never completely will give up media but omg trying hard to spend time enjoying life ..media is stress most of time and scrolling and scrolling ..those day s gotta be a thing of past lol cheers to more life more fam time and I hope my friends and fam will understands and reach out in life ! Namaste love and light to the narrator and to everyone scrolling ! :-) Gn media for today
A month? It's not very long. I've done digital-detoxes for a month or more. But then I came back to overspending my time and energy on social media. Maybe I need to listen to the whole video of yours, but I decided to write a comment right away.
Actually it was getting the FOMO from being so involved in social media, besides for me if I stayed, it would have made a traumatizing breakup much worse. The older I get there is really not FOMO, I just really dont care, everybody on your friends list cares about connecting and interacting with you as much as the advertisers on the platform.
Good question, I would assume I’m less distracted in my quiet times, but in this season my mind is running wild with planning things constantly, so it’s still hard to quiet my thoughts when I sit down to pray and read.
A really great video. 🙌❤️🥃 Same thing I did, I quit social media. It's been a week. Quit everything. Instagram, even WhatsApp. If people need to reach out to me, talk to me, inform me, they can call, that would be better. And also I can know who my real friends are, who actually care about me and want to check one if I'm alright. So I was going through too much and amidst times of this pandemic too, I needed peace, like it was much needed. A break, a hiatus yes. Also, needed to find myself back which I wasn't fully able to for almost a decade, yes. Now I can see life, participate in it, live life how I did when I was a child and be in the moment and value things in life, give people time around me, my family.
I mostly use FB but closed a busy political kind of group I ran in favor of my small Christian group. I’ve always hated Twitter so don’t post there. Instagram has always tempted me but I knew I’d get sucked in and stopped myself. I want to start creating on YT. Got to stop wasting time elsewhere to pull that off.
I’m 4 days in to no social media and I’m dealing with some fomo but I know that I don’t need it and that I’m actually missing out on life when I spend all my time in the online realm. I still have TH-cam and Snapchat so that I stay in contact with people. (When I’m on snap I dont watch all the extra stuff I just check my friends story’s and text people). But I still spend around 8 hours a day on my phone. Do I need to delete TH-cam and Snapchat and just get phone numbers to text people?
Would it be wrong if I’m spending a lot of time on TH-cam and another app where I’m usually talking with other Christians or I’m watching Christian related stuff?
I think it’s up to everyone’s discretion, but if you start to feel out of touch with the life right in front of you, then it’s probably time to take some steps back from the screen and spend time in the real world, if that makes sense?
@@_KendraChristine wow :) It's great. I've just watched your video. You know, I have always deleted my accounts, I have always such feeling that my TH-cam channel is the one thing that brings me joy :) not IG, not ..any other social net. :) So, yeah, i am happy to find like minded ppl :)
@@ninjapirate123 i've got that it is great to have different social medias. :) But TH-cam channel still brings me much joy :) Different social nets for different reasons. I think, the best thing that we may do - is not to overestimate their values, importance in lives. And what I also did and why I didn't like social nets before - is constant notifications. I turned them off. So :) Social nets help to connect people. But... all you post in them should be definitely under your personal strict filter :) So that you feel comfy sharing with guys. :)
I quit after a “friend of friend” responded to a comment I made on a very small page I follow. She didn’t follow the page, but somehow saw my comment out of so many and and bashed me for my view on a topic. At that point I decided I was done.
just like you, only use Facebook for specific reasons and youtube (really for educational purposes). the rest of the stuff out there is just really a waste of time in my mind.
Are you being serious? You are posting this ON social media...youtube is one of the largest social media platforms on the planet...oh and facebook marketplace. Saying you quit social media is blatantly false. But whatever gets views, likes, subscribers, etc.
Honestly extremely few people regret deleting social media. We should go back to the simpler times.

@@_KendraChristine thank you kendra
today i deleted my insta account i am not addicted but i have to more focus on me more
I deleted all my social media
View minutes ago I'm trying to get off social media for good.
I like your video you put some good information out there to understand better. I'm that type of person one minute I'm on social media and get off it none stop so it's just tiring and stressful for myself I get stressed out and I compare myself to other people and knowing everything you see on the internet is fake now days. So I deleted all my social media apps and accounts
The other app I use to connect with family and friends is on Facebook messenger but I don't use Facebook I disable the app on my phone.
Thank You for this video! ❤️
goal is to meet someone who doesnt have social media in person
I. Delete My Instagram account and only ones I use Pinterest TH-cam Snapchat

I’ve now been off social media for over a year, I have other videos talking about it but this was my very first one
@@_KendraChristine oh, that's really impressive!
Thanks for sharing your experience. Im curious, how did it affect your quiet time?
Good question, I would assume I’m less distracted in my quiet times, but in this season my mind is running wild with planning things constantly, so it’s still hard to quiet my thoughts when I sit down to pray and read.
@@_KendraChristine that's totally understandable, friend. Thinking of you three in this busy season of transition
You went through the exact same thing that I did.
A really great video. 🙌❤️🥃
Same thing I did, I quit social media.
That’s amazing!!
i think covid made fomo from social media way worse. great video!
Yes, Instagram sucked me in the most! And TH-cam is an amazing creative outlet! I definitely say go for it!!
@Kendra Christine did you still have the apps on your phone but just didn't go on it or did you uninstall?
I deleted them all, then I wasn't tempted to open them!
you are inspiring xo
😭❤️
Wow, the ads on this video on my end is one inviting to use Instagram 😮
I’m 4 days in to no social media and I’m dealing with some fomo but I know that I don’t need it and that I’m actually missing out on life when I spend all my time in the online realm. I still have TH-cam and Snapchat so that I stay in contact with people. (When I’m on snap I dont watch all the extra stuff I just check my friends story’s and text people). But I still spend around 8 hours a day on my phone. Do I need to delete TH-cam and Snapchat and just get phone numbers to text people?
It definitely gets easier! If you want, I have another video giving some tips on how to spend less time on your phone that might help?
@@_KendraChristine yeah if the video is already uploaded could I get the link?

I hope this helps :)
It's funny how all these videos about quitting social media feels like the are quitting heroin or crack
Isn’t it crazy? I just made a video about how social media is basically the same as a drug addiction.
Yeah, I do that. I listen to hymnals and Godly music and socialize with fellow Believers.
Hi, dear Kendra :) Are you still without social media?)
I am! It’s been a year and 2 months 👍🏼
@@_KendraChristine wow :) It's great. I've just watched your video. You know, I have always deleted my accounts, I have always such feeling that my TH-cam channel is the one thing that brings me joy :) not IG, not ..any other social net. :) So, yeah, i am happy to find like minded ppl :)
are you feeling more happy now
@@ninjapirate123 i've got that it is great to have different social medias. :)
@@AnnabelleSwan So now you only use TH-cam, and not other social media apps right

I quit after a “friend of friend” responded to a comment I made on a very small page I follow. She didn’t follow the page, but somehow saw my comment out of so many and and bashed me for my view on a topic. At that point I decided I was done.
I’m so sorry that happened to you 😢
Sounds to me like we both have similar political views. Having said that, losing friends because of that actually does you a favor 😉
just like you, only use Facebook for specific reasons and youtube (really for educational purposes). the rest of the stuff out there is just really a waste of time in my mind.
very true, and they are designed to be addictive so you waste even more time than you originally intended, it's a vicious cycle
That’s odd, I can still see your Instagram account.
I deleted the app. Not sure if I’ll actually deactivate my account. We’ll see.
@@_KendraChristine Understood.
So what are your political views ?
11:55
You quit social media and keep posting videos on TH-cam
Are you being serious? You are posting this ON social media...youtube is one of the largest social media platforms on the planet...oh and facebook marketplace. Saying you quit social media is blatantly false. But whatever gets views, likes, subscribers, etc.
Once you quit social media, don't ever go back, because if you do, it's very hard to stop using it again once you're addicted to it once again
Stressful? At least you didn't loose your house like most people
