If you keep the wallet all the way up to Rose Town, then find the Forest Maze treasure room before talking to the Toad who tells you directions to get there, once you go back and talk to the Toad, he'll congratulate you for finding it. Now for whatever bizarre reason, going all the way back and giving the other Toad his wallet back, he'll give you a flower jar instead of a tab or frog coin. Underwear was what I was thinking. While the three characters could just be arbitrary, it could also be censoring “bra” specifically, due to the same number of characters.
The only hole with the underwear view is why would it be laying around when she has chambermaids to clean the room for her and why would you still be there when Peach joins the party
Standing on the kid toad’s head running around in circles is my favorite funny moment in the game, there’s even even a toad that jumps on his bed like lots of young kids do and if you talk to him and say yes, he jumps up and down faster, however standing on his head doesn’t make Mario feel sick or dizzy lol Super Mario RPG is filled with so much soul and charm!☺️💫

@@Technonova323 Yeah, I guess they changed the controls in the remake so you can press Y to use healing spells outside of battle without opening the main menu.
So if I'm not mistaken, the Luigi's Wish from the Remake isn't actually changed, it's just that in the Japanese original that was the actual translation, it was the English version that changed it to add the "be a great Plumber like my brother Mario" part
yep. You can tell in the remake, (aside from most lines, and a few name changes), they wanted to follow the Japanese script as close as possible with this one
yeah its not even the only case of lines being reverted back to the JP script... Spoiler Alert I guess When you reach Nimbus Castle for the first time, Mario's Statue was referred to as "A Plumber's Lament" but was reverted to the original script of "In Search of Long Lost Brother"
I think that Bowser kissing Mario is the best of the 4 kissing scenes. The Peach kissing Mario maybe the hardest to get but while it is standard hero reward, it is kind of boring. Booster kissing Mario is kind of eerie, and while Bowser and Booster kissing Mario is funny the feels like sandpaper quote kind of ruins the moment. So yeah Bowser saying that he and Peach are now allies is funny and then he realizes he kissed Mario. I bet that Mario and Bowser were shocked when that happen. Mario was hoping that Peach would kiss him and Bowser is probably spitting and gagging offscreen in disgust after he realizes he kissed his archenemy Mario.
The Toad couple going to Star Hill to make a wish might just be gossip, an urban legend or they thought it'd be neat for their marriage (like a couple going to a special shrine). We know wishes go up to Star Road and take the form of stars but because it was broken, wishes fell down to Star Hill instead. And the new postgame content confirms this since there's new wishes there
Interesting how, if you assume the XXX in peach's room is alcohol, that peach has been caught with alcohol atleast twice in the japanese nintendo games, being the mario kart victory screen and, of course, mario rpg. If theres any other references to peach with alcohol exclusively in japan then im gonna start believing peach spends her time between getting captured absolutely wasted drunk
The thing is that, instead of taking and storing it properly, Gran just tells you to leave it where you found it and pretend you didn't see anything. Then the secret stays there until you try to see it with Peach in the party, it really feels like ??? was meant to stay there and not just forgotten. The underwear interpretation loses strength when you have that in mind
I’ll back this up! In Japanese, X and 〇 characters are often used for blocking text or making ‘unknowns’ and such like question mark in English, so the mature connotations of XXX in English shouldn’t really be applied to the Japanese version.
That seems to be the case with the text changes in general, the liberties taken in the original's localization tend to have been reverted in the remake's localization.
In the Japanese version it says Peach's XXX mot because it's more suggestive but because the X symbol can be used in the same context as the ?, like when something this mysterious or unknown. It's kind of like how the red circle ⭕ in Japanese is "correct" while in the West it's usually a (green) checkmark ✔️
I'm not gonna lie I was expecting JPiggles to just say "You found Peach's erm...vibe sceptor." but that's another reference he seemed to miss (for our sake, not the game). XD
I assume granny didn't know about it but also doesn't care that much and just wants you to stop snooping. I've also always assumed it's underwear or something. Of course the whole point is that we don't know.
The various slap gloves also have the same animation. Arguably, one of her forward smash attacks - the one using the frying pan - is taken from this game, too. The other forward smash - the golf club - is obviously inspired by her role in the Mario Golf series.
Since few people would think to unequip Peach's weapon and take her into a battle unarmed, I always thought it would have been a cool Easter Egg to give her unarmed attack some kind of ridiculous animation. I figure maybe have her shoot a laser beam or something. Obviously would do little damage but it'd still be hilarious to watch.
Regarding Luigi’s wish changing, during the development (or possibly slightly afterward), it was stated that the Mario bros are no longer plumbers, but full-time “heroes” instead. This change in dialogue is probably just to keep up-to-date with the new highly important Mario lore.
I think it goes deeper than that. Mario and Luigi are technically "Actors" and the Mario we see in games is actually the character that the IRL Mario plays. In "real life", the Mario bros were plumbers and formerly construction workers before getting an acting gig in a play based on King Kong, it was so popular that it started to skyrocket Mario's carreer where he would reference his work in New York's sewers and construction crew as a middle age man just trying to make a living but with antics. However his magnum opus would be "Super Mario bros", a full play about his adventures in the mushroom kingdom to save a princess from a dragon and that was such a huge hit and success, Mario became a sensation and the rest is history. It goes deeper than that too, as it's implied like DOnkey Kong, the Mario and Luigi we see today are actually Baby Mario and Luigi from the 90s era grown up, hence thier radically different personalities (Mario's more whimsical and a lot more young and athletic, while Luigi's more cowardly when he used to be more mature and serious). It could also be implied the reason Modern Peach doesn't return affection to Mario as much as she used to is because the actors used to be friends, but if they had kids, the modern Peach, Mario and Luigi are likely siblings and thus have to keep affection to a minimum for obvious reasons, but they likely wrote that in for comedic effect (see Mario Oddysey's ending and Peach solemnly referring to Mario as a "friend") This is all conjecture of course, but piecing the evidence together based on the old lore the new lore and interviews from Shiggy himself heavily imply this is the Mario lore, and the Movie confirms a lot of elements while modernizing them (like Mario being a 20 year old which makes less sense if he's actually from the 80s, but his father heavily resembling the old Middle aged Mario we're used to and being disappointed in his son at first may reference some history there).
@@MarioMastar none of this is true. miyamoto said that the Mario characters can be thought of as an acting troupe or family, as in they can be made to fit all kinds of roles and scenarios. Everything you said was completely made up

17:03 You missed mentioning the tips that you can get as a bellhop. While the married couple never tips, the old Toad can tip you 30 coins, a Mushroom, a Mid Mushroom, and even a Flower Box! The Flower box is randomly rewarded as a tip for seeing the old Toad out...
Yeah that's the important part of it. I'd also have mentioned that the point of staying at Marrymore's suite is you can get ... whatever they called Kero Kero Colas for 150 coins, but since you spend 200 coins, you'll need to buy at least 5 of them to get a "discount". In the original game this was almost impossible as the max coins were 999 so you could only literally get a 50 coin discount, but in the remake you can do this far more as you can hold 9999 coins........or you could if you could hold more than 6 Kero Kero colas... but I think any extras you buy will go to your storage box so it's still worth doing.
Also, the tadpola cola is probably a reference to the fact that the final boss of super Mario Bros 2, a giant Toad, also appears in one of link's games
What the hell are you talking about? Wart was a frog not a Toad. I don't think any game has you fighting toads Besides that how is that a reference at all? Tadpola is just a reference to the fact that you get it in tadpole pond
@@teaoftraffic that was Mamu, who is a frog (he literally teaches you the (Frog's Song of Soul) and despite looking like Wart I'm pretty sure he's not the same character at least not in the English localization Still nothing to do with Tadpola Cola
Here’s a fun fact: if you jump on the cake on marrymore 15 times in a row before the marriage fight the chef will actually start fighting you and will have about 150 health each.
Referencing a name for a joke isn't a legal issue dude. It's more likely that someone at current-day Nintendo wasn't a fan of direct references to real world people/events and decided to keep it out of the remake. Maybe for world consistency or personal preference, but no one's going to get in legal trouble for a name-drop, that is insane.
You can though. Some people or their families are very protective over their names. Look up Jean-Paul Sartre and NieR Automata. The whole reason the name was censored is because the families threatened legal action
I really REALLY wish the for the Easter egg where Mario becomes the 8-bit form, Mario would turn into his old sprite from the original SMRPG instead of the 8-bit sprite.
There's even more about the Kero Sewers/Land's End Easter egg. If you reach that room in the Kero Sewers, initiate a battle and then run away, you can use the flashing enemy as a footstool to reach that upper area. The treasure box contains a Frog Coin at this point in the game. Additionally, you can enter the pipe to visit the dead end in Land's End. The Shy Away (Beezo in the remake) then tells you that you're not supposed to be there yet and that you should leave. If you choose to fight him, he and the other high-level enemies will wreck you.
Yeah I'm surprised he didn't mention that or the fact that if you stand on the table and talk to the first shop keeper in mushroom Kingdom, he tells you "Now lets try this again but in front of the counter" sarcastically and he always does this. He's also the only one who reacts sarcastically to you fooling around as no other shop keeper cares if you stand on the counter to talk to them.
Head Canon Luigi's wish changed in the remake, because in the years since the original version came out Luigi has become great So now instead of wanting to be great he wants to just be a helpful brother
I didn't learn anything new about Super Mario RPG from this video, but I'm gonna like the video anyway because I like supporting you and your content, PJ. Keep up the great work!
16:52 "Oh, the bellhop is giving us a demonstration of the shower. How lovely." Fun fact: Mario has been a ship captain, so I don't see it out of the realm of possibility that he'd also be licensed to officiate weddings.
Reminds me of Cybershell's bonus videos for the Sonic games. Even though it's mostly info from the cutting room floor and little curiousities in the debug mode, it's just therapeutic to hear someone talk about all the cool secrets these games have whether we know them already or not. Great way to relive those moments.
You mentioned the big Yoshi in Yo'Ster Isle, but left off another important fact about him: you can continue feeding him cookies in order to get items, some of which might not be accessible anywhere else in the game.
11:24 I actually knew that after getting to Barrel Volcano, and by that time, the Apprentices' attacks only does one damage to all 5 characters [with about 150 health each] (even more pain and suffer than in the video). So, I went back and first kill Mario, Mallow, and Gino in one of the battles at Bean Valley, then win (by Peach and Bowser) and regen 1 health for each of them. Same for Peach and Bowser. Finally, I went straight into the 5 Apprentices' battles and died to all of them. (Great news is: You will keep your one-health stat after each battles, so you won't have to go through the process 5 times)
Kind of strange… I expected Bowser\Peach to be the SMW background, while Mallow\Geno were the cloud background; since Bowser and Peach are from the mainline Mario universe…
Another thing I noticed was that the gameboy that the cool toad sells you doesn’t only have 4 buttons instead of 2 but also a joystick instead of a D-pad, truly cursed
Yo I got a useless smash fact: The joy-cons make special sound effects when doing special things including breaking a smash ball and countering an attack. When countering an attack the joy-cons make the same sound as Mario hitting an enemy with a shell
25:25 i think its because both of them are great plumbers, as seen in the mario movie and 3d world, so they probably didn't want Luigi to seem like a worse plumber and rather that their both on the same skill level
Mario did really take it to heart when he failed Luigi there. Since he's the older brother and all. Luigi looks up to him so much so it would've been a nice touch to keep that in reference to the movie. Still I think the whole "Mario and LUigi being plumbers" thing was likely an American thing to make Mario relatable as a New Yorker with an every man job. That's what made Mario so appealing to adults in the 90s who could see him and go "Hey he's just like me! a regular working man!" and spoilers...it worked!
If I remember correctly around the year of Luigi or a bit after, Nintendo announced that Mario retired from plumbing or to that effect, that’s probably why Luigi’s wish is changed
"xxx" doesn't really have the same connotation in Japan as it does in the west, it really is just their "???". That said I certainly learned a lot of new things, so you can have my like!
I didn't know he gets THAT mad. XD I was expecting the battle screen to open up. That would've been pretty cool. Also interesting they have a dialogue box where you can have Mario say "No way, Jose". I just can't see Mario ever saying that... well maybe the brooklyner version might.
@@MarioMastar It was a diffrent time back in the 90s when Nintendo wasn't nearly as cautious with their IPs as they are now. Could you imagine modern Mario nearly punching a kid square in the face. I think we got pretty lucky that they left most things like that unchanged.
Another comment probably called this out already, but I'm not going through nearly 400 comments to confirm. I didn't know this myself until I saw a particular long-play of the SNES version, then I tried it on my own on the remake and confirmed it was indeed retained - if you try to exit Marrymore from the north exit (towards Star Hill) after rescuing Peach and continue saying "No" to each prompt to return to the Mushroom Kingdom first, more party characters will come out to convince Mario to return and if you keep saying "No" until and including when everyone's out then they'll all get mad at Mario, refuse to let you pass, and you're only allowed to exit Marrymore from the south exit, resuming the game's natural progression. This is a very easy-to-miss scene and I didn't even know about it until this remake came out and the various videos started coming out wondering about what was changed and kept the same.
if you’re talking about the Bruce Lee reference, no. That wasn’t a moment of just having an out of date reference. That was removed on respect to the Lee family. They don’t like his name being mentioned in fictional media. Why? Don’t know. Ask them. But at the same time, if you think about it, it does make sense. I mean, really, a fictional character, in a fictional universe, making reference to a real world real life person?
In the og game, when your working off your debt in the hotel, if you get an old couple to stay in the suite, they have a chance to give you a frog coin. Which is nice considering their rarity in the game.
@@TheRealBatabii Well yes, but the idea given in the video is a valid interpretation. It could be anything that she wanted to hide, the fact that it's censored for the player makes it easy to relate with +18 topics.
@@dikikai5983 that doesnt make it true, or even more likely it's censored because it literally does not matter what it is, mario isn't supposed to be messing with it
But you seem to have left out a very big missable cutscene in Marrymore. When Mario finally gets Peach, she tells him they need to go back to the Mushroom Kingdom. But you can refuse by trying to go to the west exit. When you do so, One of your party members will come out and accuse you of stealing Peach. If you keep doing it, more and more of them will jump out, culminating in a big scene. I hope this cut scene wasn't removed in the remake. It's hilarious.
The reason for a-lot of the changes of dialogue is because the remake is going off the Japanese script not the american localization, the same thing happened to Final Fantasty 6 and other SNES square games Ps. xxx is the same a blank or ??? In Japanese
He said if you know a lot about the game but still learn something new, we have to leave a like. I previously knew next to nothing about this game and learned something new so I guess I don't have to leave a like
oh there's a different thing with peach's ??? i went in her room right before she joined the party (when she said she was gonna take a nap) and i got a dialogue telling mario to go return it to the princess, he then did his little nonono head shake and put it down.
In a way, Luigi's wish from the original game has come true. Since the release of the original game, Luigi has become much more prominent. (eg, Luigi's mansion.) Therefore, he doesn't need to wish to be great anymore.
First time in your channel and not the last now; like more than earned, already had a blast with the game and seeing all I missed only made me appreciate it further. Greatly organized and explained too. Looking forward to part two!
Luigi: i wish i could help my brother Mario. Mario: LUIGI! PEACHES VOICE WAS STOLEN! LETS A GO TO THE BEAN BEAN KINGDOM!! Luigi: um, can i take it back?
This and Advance WArs Reboot camp are proof that the Nintendo that goes above and beyond is still here! They really put their heart into this and it shows.
Always loved this game, but I'm also always amazed by all the little secrets and easter eggs it has. I've seen some of these Super Mario RPG trivia videos before but this one had quite a few facts I had never seen or heard of before. Crazy just how many small details this game has. Personally my favorite one that I actually stumbled upon naturally was the punishment for not having the money for the Marrymore deluxe suite, IIRC I came across it by accident since I completely forgot the stay was only for one night and I didn't have enough coins to pay the guy. Was kinda funny to have to see Mario working a job to pay off this expense.
Obscure fact: Enemies turn solid after you run away, if you use a Boo in the sewers to get up to the cricket jam box early, or that path. The flyguy in Land's End will give you unique dialogue. (I don't remember which one it is)
Good video, but I’ve been hunting for someone who knows what happens when you go to the mushroom kingdom shop before talking to Mallow, when the shop keeper says “it’s raining pitchforks and hammer handles”
Geno EXPLAINS how Star Hill works and why the wishes are there- that they fell there from the broken Star Road and can't be granted until it's fixed. Nobody HAS to go to Star Hill to make wishes, it's pretty obvious that Raz and Raini just thought it'd be a neat thing to do as a couple.
This is definitely one of the most charming RPGs I've ever seen. There are so many little secrets that it takes two 30-minute videos to explain all of them.
Well, there ARE gameboy-likes with four face buttons that can not only play gameboy games, but also snes games, so you can have a proper gameception with the OG super mario RPG on them xD
Raz and Raini going to Star Hill to make a wish doesn't neccessarily imply that you HAVE to go there to make one. It may just be a sort of ritual that people like doing. You don't have to go to a church to pray, but you can and many people like doing so.
25:39 Is it POSSIBLE this was hinting at Mario & Luigi Brothership????? The text now fits perfectly into the more than obvious brother theme for Brothership
25:34 If I had to guess why this was changed, it's probably because of Luigi's character development over the years and how he's started to become more of his own person, and not just a lesser known version of Mario. Nintendo probably thinks he's made enough progress to not be so self-deprecating anymore.
The funny thing is that i decided to beat Super Mario RPG (SNES) and Super Mario World before the remake and Wonder released because i thought it would be a pretty cool thing to see how games have changed over the years. Both games are amazing and i would recommend you, the person reading this, to play them again or for the first time.
I was thinking it was a GB mixed with a SNES controller, but considering the circle pad you mentioned, which I didn't notice, makes it so it's a mix of a GB with a Switch. I guess originally it was actually a GB or a GB+SNES, but they changed it to a switch because you're using the circle pad to move the beetle.
@@Rogeryoo it would be smart if they changed it to a circle pad for the remake, considering you move the original around with a d-pad, end of this version around with a circle pad. Although I guess we will never know considering the graphics don't let us see it on the original. Not like it matters the one in game looks like a 3DS Circle pad
XXX or OOO or some other English character equivalent, mostly the X or O, is often used in Japanese sentences to obscure words as a form of self-censorship. For example, if they want to say that characters are going into a famous fast food restaurant with golden arches, but are worried about copyright claims, they may say that the characters went to MaOOOOalds to try to avoid infringement. They'll also of course do that for topics that are sexually. All that being said, I keep hearing the vibrator idea, but I think that's way too direct for a kid's game. Knowing Japanese humor, and the time frame of around 1996, it's more likely that it's a pair of Peach's panties than anything else. Would also explain why it's near the fire instead of the bed. Probably being dried after a wash.
I was really hoping that the credits would be updated to give Luigi a proper spotlight rather than being the same far-away 16-bit sprite he was in the SNES version.
I think the most obscure fact about this game is that the name of the guy with the overalls and the red hat is Mario. Probably a reference to something, but I’m not sure what
I think it's a callback to Donkey Kong. The player character was also a guy named Mario who wore that outfit. Donkey Kong references show up a couple more times.
Also I'd like to believe that Raini and Raz are only planning om going to Star Road because they think it's romantic, and not because physically going to Star Road is a requirement to make a wish. Culex is implied to never leave his room in Monstro Town. In fact, the purpose of your fight is to determine whether or not he'll escape. He has a wish in Star Road, but he cannot possibly have gone there since he doesn't meddle with Mario's world outside of their battles. Gaz and a lot of NPCs also seem unaware that the Star Road is broken and their wishes can't be granted. They still make them, however. I think that wishes manifest in Star Road through some sort of magic or psychic link that citizens have with it. Star Road also appears in Paper Mario 64 and it works similarly, with people merely having to make a wish to themselves in order for the Star Spirits to grant them. The developers have also confirmed that the Star Road is the same in Mario RPG, Paper Mario, and Mario and Luigi. We can assume the logic is consistent throughout all these games. The Star Spirits use the Star Rod to grant wishes, and that's channeled through the Star Road. Geno serves the Star Spirits. The Spirits are separate from the seven Stars, which are just shards of Star Road, hence why different things are needed in different games to restore the wish-granting powers that be. Stuff like the Crystal Stars and Pure Hearts appear to be completely different relics, they just serve a similar gameplay function.

Bowser kissing mario is best for me because Booster just straight up kisses the stand instead of anyone

I suppose then we'd know her favorite Schnapps flavor.
OR she gets captured all the time because she’s drunk
i’m pretty sure the ??? in peach’s room was meant to be her underwear and not a sex toy which would explain why her grandma was scolding you.
that’s what I assumed too.
The thing is that, instead of taking and storing it properly, Gran just tells you to leave it where you found it and pretend you didn't see anything. Then the secret stays there until you try to see it with Peach in the party, it
really feels like ??? was meant to stay there and not just forgotten. The underwear interpretation loses strength when you have that in mind
And if you saw the end of Super Princess Peach with the “Vibe Scepter” then yeah I think we all get it
I’ll back this up! In Japanese, X and 〇 characters are often used for blocking text or making ‘unknowns’ and such like question mark in English, so the mature connotations of XXX in English shouldn’t really be applied to the Japanese version.
Just so everyone knows. In Japan “XXX” means the same as “???” which is an ambiguous character. Or at least that’s what I heard
The reason for the name changes were probably made because the remake was based on the Japanese version
A lot of people didn’t like Claymorton and Speardovich.
@@brandonwilliams6119 at least, their name make sense now, so they gotta deal with it

You got me with the save poses only. Who would ever refuse to save the game multiple times in a row?
In the Japanese version it says Peach's XXX mot because it's more suggestive but because the X symbol can be used in the same context as the ?, like when something this mysterious or unknown. It's kind of like how the red circle ⭕ in Japanese is "correct" while in the West it's usually a (green) checkmark ✔️
I'm not gonna lie I was expecting JPiggles to just say "You found Peach's erm...vibe sceptor." but that's another reference he seemed to miss (for our sake, not the game). XD
We still have the context of gran telling you to leave it where you found it rather than just picking it up and storing it
I assume granny didn't know about it but also doesn't care that much and just wants you to stop snooping.
I've also always assumed it's underwear or something. Of course the whole point is that we don't know.
If you stand in front of Punchinello, he punches you into the save block in the other room. Pretty funny, I think.
Wait, so Peach's jab in Smash is a reference to her not using any weapon in Super Mario RPG
SMASHY BROS!!!!!!!
It could also be implied the reason Modern Peach doesn't return affection to Mario as much as she used to is because the actors used to be friends, but if they had kids, the modern Peach, Mario and Luigi are likely siblings and thus have to keep affection to a minimum for obvious reasons, but they likely wrote that in for comedic effect (see Mario Oddysey's ending and Peach solemnly referring to Mario as a "friend")
This is all conjecture of course, but piecing the evidence together based on the old lore the new lore and interviews from Shiggy himself heavily imply this is the Mario lore, and the Movie confirms a lot of elements while modernizing them (like Mario being a 20 year old which makes less sense if he's actually from the 80s, but his father heavily resembling the old Middle aged Mario we're used to and being disappointed in his son at first may reference some history there).

These references weren't in the original Japanese script. They just followed that more closely this time.
13:27 Super Mario RPG: the Legend of the Seven Snifsters 😂
I really REALLY wish the for the Easter egg where Mario becomes the 8-bit form, Mario would turn into his old sprite from the original SMRPG instead of the 8-bit sprite.
And then if you walked back into the curtain with that sprite you'd get the NES one.
Fun fact: Mario has been a ship captain, so I don't see it out of the realm of possibility that he'd also be licensed to officiate weddings.

Reminds me of Cybershell's bonus videos for the Sonic games. Great way to relive those moments.

Thank you!
Kind of strange…
I expected Bowser\Peach to be the SMW background, while Mallow\Geno were the cloud background; since Bowser and Peach are from the mainline Mario universe…
Another thing I noticed was that the gameboy that the cool toad sells you doesn’t only have 4 buttons instead of 2 but also a joystick instead of a D-pad, truly cursed

Yo I got a useless smash fact:
The joy-cons make special sound effects when doing special things including breaking a smash ball and countering an attack.
17:55 "So long, Gay bowser!"
"xxx" doesn't really have the same connotation in Japan as it does in the west, it really is just their "???". That said I certainly learned a lot of new things, so you can have my like!

Oh, good. It wasn't removed. But odd that it didn't show up in the video.
A note: in Japanese, "XXX" is a placeholder, similar to how we use "???" in English.

if you’re talking about the Bruce Lee reference, no. That wasn’t a moment of just having an out of date reference. That was removed on respect to the Lee family. They don’t like his name being mentioned in fictional media. Why? Don’t know. Ask them. But at the same time, if you think about it, it does make sense. That's the one Bowser stole from her later on.
The reason for a-lot of the changes of dialogue is because the remake is going off the Japanese script not the american localization, the same thing happened to Final Fantasty 6 and other SNES square games
Ps. xxx is the same a blank or ??? In Japanese

Obscure fact:
Enemies turn solid after you run away, if you use a Boo in the sewers to get up to the cricket jam box early, or that path. The flyguy in Land's End will give you unique dialogue.

That thumbnail art is so cute
This is definitely one of the most charming RPGs I've ever seen. There are so many little secrets that it takes two 30-minute videos to explain all of them.

Well, there ARE gameboy-likes with four face buttons that can not only play gameboy games, but also snes games, so you can have a proper gameception with the OG super mario RPG on them xD
When Pjiggles random posts, it’s suddenly Christmas, amazing 😂

When the gamer toad is holding the gb, it also has a circle pad
I was thinking it was a GB mixed with a SNES controller, but considering the circle pad you mentioned, which I didn't notice, makes it so it's a mix of a GB with a Switch. I guess originally it was actually a GB or a GB+SNES, but they changed it to a switch because you're using the circle pad to move the beetle.

That Mario and Luigi joke near the end of the video was WAY too meta
They could’ve replaced Bruce Lee with Little Mac, it would’ve been a nice refrence to Punch Out
The link Easter egg was probably the coolest one!
Not finding mention of it in guides, but when I used the Inn at Rose Town, Toad gave me a flower tab.
The Mariowser thumb was cute.
Bowser really living up to his nickname Gay Bowser
I think the most obscure fact about this game is that the name of the guy with the overalls and the red hat is Mario. Probably a reference to something, but I’m not sure what
You sure you're not confusing him with Wario? Similar build but wears yellow instead.
I think it's a callback to Donkey Kong. The player character was also a guy named Mario who wore that outfit. Donkey Kong references show up a couple more times.
it might be a reference to super mario bros in 1985
Luigi's wish waa probably changed because the old one implied that Luigi wasn't a plumber
Paper Mario even started out being titled Super Mario RPG 2. There's still an unused image file in the game with that logo.
Ey PJ Nice fact You drop here but you miss one useless In marrymore, in the suit when sleeping, the mushroom lamp changes the direction it faces when using it when waking up. This is due to a glitch that occurred in the Snes version, a glitch that left it in he. remake
