    Great video. Thanks. Did you ever contact Icon to ask about just having one loose bolt on the remote reservoir bracket? If so, what did they say?

      I ended up sending my shocks in to be rebuild by ICON, never had an issue after that. Thank you for watching!

    Hi, nice video! I’m wandering if you have the link on where did you purchase your suspension set up. Thanks.

    Kind of late on the comments here.. lol. What else did you have to install to have this suspension upgrade like the rear coils? Torsion bars?

    I'm doing this install right now with Icons. So there should only be 2 washers? Because the OME I pulled off has 4 washers (2 per bushing) whereas this icon only has 2 washers (only the bushing is touching the frame shock tower )

      It's been awhile since I've installed the shocks, recommend contacting Icon support directly to ensure you have the latest installation guidance. Hope the install goes well!

    I'm debating between this stage 3 setup or Slee's reservoir shocks. After a year with your Icon whatcha think?

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good Questions. First, I am both a Slee and Icon fan. I just finally finished putting all the Slee armor on my rig just a few weeks ago. While I have never had to deal with Slee's customer service, I have had a fair amount with ICON's. I cannot compare Slee's suspension since I've never run them, I do know they don't cut corners (thus the premium price). I have had to send a few shocks to be rebuilt to ICON and their customer service is awesome, they totally stand behind their product. If I had to make the choice again, I would still go with ICON. Nothing against Slee, love their stuff. How does the saying go? "Jack of all trades, master of none." For example, I'll buy arc’teryx clothing all day long (If I could afford it), but their shoes I was disappointed with...

    Great exclamation, and very good set of shocks. I have a question for you, I have a Landcruiser 2001 diesel version, and the suspension it comes with is hydraulic and it’s having issues with the accumulators and they cost around $ 1000, so what I want to know is, can I replace the hydraulic suspension system it comes with my Toyota and instead put the Icon suspension you just installed?

      I wish I could help you brother, but I am no mechanic; recommend you consult a professional. Supper jealous of your 105 btw 😀

      Yes you can but you need to replace the torsion bars and rear springs as well because the ones used with the AHC (that's the what Toyota calls the hydraulic height adjustment system) system are not compatible with normal shocks. You may need different anti roll bars too. Removing the AHC system is very common here in the states cus it's just not that reliable and it's very expensive to fix.

    Thanks for taking the time and effort to show this!! How many miles on the LC? I have a 99LX470 with 282k and it has the original AHC suspension and it still works fine. Im on the fence about doing the suspension lift/AHC delete due to the mileage. I’m not sure I want to sink another 3k - the truck runs perfect and I’ve done tons of maintenance- I have nearly 20 years worth of service records, which is almost impossible to get when buying one of these today. Thoughts anyone?

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I'm still under 170k miles. Unless your pushing the limitations of your current suspension, I'd leave it alone. In addition to the sinking 3k, you would also have to remove the AHC system...

    How is it on woops? Or hard dips off road? I'm thinking of getting it too. Not sure if I should get the stage 2 or 3

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's good, I really like the ability to change the setting from hard to soft when going to washboard and various other terrain. I would recommend v2.5 for the front shocks for sure, I'm only running Stage 1s in the rear and am happy with the performance without spending the extra couple grand.

      @@OverlandTrax Good to hear! Yeah I was only thinking of stage 3 in the front and leaving my Tough Dog in the rear.

      I do, we are running Black Hawk UCAs and a diff drop (can't recall brand atm)

    How is the ride compared to stock?

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Huge difference (I'm not sponsored). Most noticeable on washboard and/or when going faster speeds. I would argue better overall better (smoother) ride when doing more technical and long distance trails/trips...
