    We’re both fans of the Hillbilly gloves too Andre. So much so we purchased a set of half finger versions for the summer months too.
    I also ‘Heath Robinson’ style stitched a gps cycle computer handle bar bracket on the seatbelt webbing part of the gloves. Now you can see your current/average/max speed, distance time etc on your wrist whilst traveling pretttty cooool 👍😀

      Nice one I will have to look at something like that. Hopefully some day all wheels will have a full screen to look down at like the Sherman. I find that I sometimes have too many things to start up to get going. Takes away from just getting some solid riding in. Need to get to the 1000 subs so I can look at getting a Sherman. Your wheel is just too good looking.

      @@Andre-Mostert Cheers Andre, yes it does look good in the KTM colour scheme doesn’t it 👍☺️
      I agree that too much faff can take away the enjoyment somewhat.

      It does look awesome. Weekend is done now to do some edits.

    I saw a video where someone put some wire wool between the tyre and casing and rolled the wheel back and forth dragging the wire wool through the cavity to clean out mud.

      Hi Simon, that is a good idea. This is why I love youtube as so many people have different ideas to share. Thanks for watching and the feedback.

    Have you also looked at the GyroRider gloves? Same premise but with touch screen enabled filaments on the fingers.

      aaah many thanks for the feedback. I have seen them before but cannot get hold of them locally here in the UK. Or at least what I have seen. But I have booked marked that page to keep an eye out for them. I was also looking at these but they dont have the wrist support in the palm. Thanks for the comments and I might ping them a mail to see if they was a review done lol.

    Just bought the fingerless version as a result of your review. Had a spill on my MTen3 and landed hard backward, putting my hands down to break the fall. Wrists really hurt and was lucky not to have broken them - decided at that point wrist guards were needed and these gloves look an ideal solution.

      Oh man I am glad you ok. Its not fun to come off and I always use my hands to break the fall. As bulky they are they do help. They do take a bit of time to break in and for the leather to really soften up. Mine needs some work still. But when I came off in one of my videos they did there job and I am glad for that. I have fallen so much and need all the help. Keep well and hope you back up and riding soon.

    My hands are moderately large but not huge. I know lots of guys with bigger hands than me. I can barely, just barely get the hillbilly XL gloves on and that's with a LOT of tugging. They are uncomfortably tight. Hopefully they loosen up.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have fairly skinny big hands and I find that the gloves is not too tight. In the beginning they where really hard but I did find the more I wear them the better they get. They are still not as soft as say a pair of motorcycle gloves. Its also thick leather so take a long time to get soft.
      I went for a size large and below is my hand measurement.
      23cm around my hand
      23cm from wrist to tip of middle finger
      Hope this helps.

    Use a long handled bottle brush when it is still soft

      aaaah that might be a great option. I have actually seen one that is on a bendable wire. Great idea and thanks for kicking the brain into action.

      @@Andre-Mostert Better to use the thinnest part of the spinning rod. It is quite durable and flexible.

      @@Andre-Mostert A car wheel brush such as an EZ Detail Brush (see www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ez-detail-brush-mini) might also work. Just watch the 'flicking' of mud as you pull it out otherwise you can end up covered!

      @@arthurmow262 That is so true. I was on the trails again today and as it rained yesterday its just slushy again. Not good. So just stayed on the road for the ride. I hope its dry tomorrow to get a nice ride in. Keep well.

    Do you recomend them for summer? 30 degree Celsius. Or you think this will be to warm.

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there and thanks for watching. I think the full finger would be better in winter and spring but in 30 degrees its going to be a bit on the hot side. They also do a half finger version listed below
      e-rides.com/product/hillbilly-half-finger-gloves/
      Or what I am planning on doing for the summer is to get a pair of one size up wrist guards and use MTB full gloves under it. I like full finger gloves as I dont like scuffing up the old fingers as they take long to heal. Hope that helps.

    Evening Andre, was wondering what type of selfie stick you use. If at all possible, pls let me know.
    Thank you!

      No problem Bob, I use the Insta360 1.2M Invisible Selfie Stick but mine came with the bullet time tripod when I bought my Insta360 OneX camera. I am looking to get a second one as they are so solid and well priced on Amazon.
      Hope that helps.

    These gloves like most other "wrist protectors" are modeled after medical devices designed to immobilize the wrist AFTER an injury. If you fall forward, you usually strike the ground with the heel of your hand. If your hand slides forward in front of you, you have protection. However, If your hand catches the ground, your hand stops and your body advances over your hand. That is what breaks wrists. The splint on the back of the hand simply breaks your hand in MULTIPLE places, but not your wrist. This creates a real mess for a hand surgeon, and increases the damage exponentially! There is also the question of terrain. If you fall on pavement and slide, you are good, but if you fall on soft ground and the splint acts as an anchor, you are ruined. Just think about where you are and the relative risks. Also, remember kinetic energy and speed. 40 kph has 4 times the energy of 20 kph and 2 times the energy of 28 kph. This difference is easily demonstrated in braking performance. .

      Wow this is good information. So is a normal glove with leather on the palm and a splint on the top better than a wist guard that has splints on the top and bottom? Would the EVS Wrister Gloves be a better option with only the wrist splint on the top?
      My wrists has taken a hammering from all the years of skateboarding, rollerblading and MTB riding so I try and protect them as much as I can. I will have to do more reading about this subject. Thanks for watching and the feedback.

      A broken arm is easier to heal than a broken wrist. By your logic, a 500 pound knee brace is more dangerous than a 50 pound knee protector because a strong impact will keep the knee joint, but break the hip or shin.

      I really wished you hadn't posted this. Now I'm just confused as to what to do to protect my wrist. I know that nothing is not the answer and that's about it.
