Live performance in the Cotton Bowl at a Texas Jam. We're front and center. The intro section is greatness, and when the first power chord hits, a bolt of lightning flashes behind the stage, a loud clap of thunder and wind races into the stadium. The sister's hair and clothes billowing and debris flying through the air. I wanted to fall to my knees in worship. 😂 Awesome experience.
KUDOS for not pausing mid-song as so many reaction hosts do. I can't stand it when they do that, especially with songs like this that take you places. Heart's LIVE IN SEATTLE 2002 concert on video has an incredible version of this gem. Look around and you can find it here on TH-cam.
A lot of song owners or license agencies will assert a copyright claim if there is not either interruption of the song or talking over it. It makes sense, as if a person can listen to it entirely from a reactor's channel, the artist/company does not get the hits that pay them for the listen. Also, when the reactor is a musician,s/he can often provide insights that one might miss or fail to appreciate, and it needs to be said in the moment.
@@thomasmacdiarmid8251Not true. My site has over 250 videos on it with copyright song background audio, and YT's AI-based censoring software has flagged me with a warning even when I only had 6 seconds of a well-known guitar riff on one video. I rarely use the entire song and often just a small portion of it, but it doesn't matter The software is not trying to detect entire songs and checking them for length, just identifying them as copyrighted material, period. Pausing does nothing. The best hosts save their INSIGHTS for discussion after, just as movie-goers do. They know it's often critical to listen to the WHOLE song first before making their thoughts known, and that interrupting can break the mood the musicians worked so hard to put you in and lead you to different ultimate conclusions.
"It's a Ulysses-type song," Nancy Wilson of Heart explained to Vulture. "It describes the journey of waiting for the wind to kick up in your life, and then it does, and then it takes you on more of a wild ride than you ever expected to be on - a life-threatening wild ride. And you're a changed person forever. You'll never look at life the same way again."
Wow..talk about a deep cut. I would have never thought I'd hear this on a reaction. I saw them do this live many, many years ago. I love all their songs...her voice is incredible. I love this band.
For any listener who's wondering, a "mistral" is a strong, cold, northwesterly wind that blows from southern France into the Gulf of Lion in the northern Mediterranean.
Great reaction! Very candid and heartfelt. This song is such an incredible blend of delicate and hard, just really pulse quickening. It absolutely stirs the soul. Never heard anything like it. The front side is entitled Dog, side two Butterfly. The front side had the airplay but the backside is what moved me. Very intense! "Nada One" still haunts me.
Dear Angela...a special request if at all possible. I live in Orillia Ontario...the hometown of Gordon Lightfoot. May 1st marks 1 year since his passing. He had a wonderful talent and returned many times to the Opera House here in Orillia to perform. There is a bust/statue of him there as one enters and of course he is sorely missed. I believe his hit "Rainy Day People" of all his hits showcases the essence of his sound as a folk, folk/rock country songwriter and singer. I would be forever grateful if you could play it on or around that date in memory of him. If you can, take it from Gord's Gold album and turn up the volume!
I used to absolutely BLAST this song 45 years ago when I had a loud powerful stereo and huge speakers. I'd rumble the foundation of my parents house with this. Such great days.
Firstly, Ann Wilson among my top 5 favorite female singers. #2 Probably of my top 5 HEART songs to especially play very loud through my 4 tower speakers with 13 x 2 band EQ for fine tune! Among must have albums; first Van Halen, first Boston, first Foreigner, (etc) and first 4 albums of HEART 💜 Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Haven't heard this one before! A song by Heart that came out around that time is Dog 🐕 & 🦋 Butterfly, which may be from the same album! I didn't expect it to pick up towards the end! It's pretty groovy and cool 😎 and 🔥 fire! Hopefully until next week my parasocial mystery people! Goodbye!
Unfortunately, that photo at the beginning was taken in the 80s after the lead guitar player you hear on this song (and one of the founders), the talented Roger Fisher, had left the band. But that's another story. This is an excellent song from Heart during their best years, the 70s, when they made a name for themselves and made real rock and roll!
Angela,my mother was diagnosed having a tumor chest cancer....she love Karen Carpenter alot...can i request her fav.song?i want to see her big smile again before may have happen to her...please can you play the song I HAVE YOU by Karen, because this is her fav.song...please!!!!!!
Gerlie, how is you're mother doing? I'm glad you mentioned this song by Karen Carpenter. With all of her songs....people have reacted to very few of her songs. Hope you're Mother gets better ...let me know.
Reaction to your reaction! Maybe parallel universes, alternate realities, time travel, and too many other topics to list! Maybe this is a simulation or a dream! Who knows! Goodbye!
I'm a metalhead type of guy, but I'd have to say, this is one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. So good.
such a great song from a great album!!!!

Thank You ❤ One of my top favorite songs by Heart..Saw them do this live in 1980...The crowd and myself was in a trance...❤
Ann Wilson is one of the top singers in rock, period.
Thank you for reviewing the song I requested. You are kind.

I'm glad you said this ..yes I can't stand how all the reactors pause and talk throughout the songs. Some worse than others! They think it's cute!

This song has been my jam since I bought the album that year! Kick ass reaction ❤

I love Nada One. I almost requested it.
Great song... and what a great reaction!!

Dang! Time capsule. Haven't heard that one since I probably played the entire Dog & Butterfly album about 40 years ago.
Several really great tracks on that album.
I used to absolutely BLAST this song 45 years ago when I had a loud powerful stereo and huge speakers. I'd rumble the foundation of my parents house with this. Such great days.
Never heard the song, cool 70th song. Love the 70th, it died with the 80th mtv synth era.
Great song! Great reaction!
Yes, dreamy otherworldly music !
This one starts quite slow for them and then becomes quite rocky and powerful, good song-Colin Ward
"Dog &Butterfly" my favourite Heart album!
Love that you are able to play the whole song without pausing. How do you manage to not get them taken down?
Storm brewing and then storm happening and then storm going away.
Always have loved the Sisters!
My favorite from Heart. Imo Hearts Greatest LP
A fantastic album. Absolutely!
Gosh, I haven’t heard this in decades!! Thank you Angela!!

For a very stripped down version of Heart. Try live Dreamboat Annie if you haven't already. Very good stuff.
Suggestion: .. "If" by Bread 1971
Precursor to grunge.

The Dog and the Butterfly album wasn't my favorite by Heart. Hard to beat Dreamboat Annie.
Did Heart invent Grunge??
