The weird thing is I've been playing the Mad Max videogame again recently (ironically I had totally forgotten about this film, as the cherry on top), and it has a surprisingly good plot and characters in it - including Max. It also takes itself pretty damn seriously, too. I remember seeing a teaser trailer for it ( which looked awful ) and then picking it up later after seeing the glowing Steam reviews
The bonus irony is that the game was explicitly stated to be non-canon, even though it reportedly utilised a lot of worldbuilding that George had already made before Fury Road, _and_ it dovetailed perfectly into Fury Road and actually helped _that_ movie _make more sense_
So it's kinda bizarre to hear about so many things from the video game showing up in the movie and somehow being a poorer version of them, _and_ making Fury Road make _less_ sense
Furiosa: A StarvWars Story
The guy that played Erectus had to publicly apologize for an attempted grape scene; where he had to explain he was playing a fictional character and he had no grapey intentions in the real world.
Peak clown world.
Witness me!! *trips on rock and dies*
Beyond Thunderdome was awesome fight me.
Bring back Max.
Bring back either Mel or find another good actor.
Make a non-cringy script.
Good supporting cast.
Practical effects.
Muscle cars and motorbikes.
It's not difficult.
I’m kinda glad this movie is doing poorly at the Box Office.
Only ‘cause the fans of this film and Fury Road are pretentious clown people who talk in poems. Fury Road and I’m sure Furiosa as well are action movies made pretentious video essayists and people whose celebration of cinema extends as far as Twitter posts with the name of the film, the year, dir. whoever and four pngs.
So, it’s kinda funny to see these people lose their minds.
Given that the opening weekend is 71% that of Fury Road's box office (and that's _after_ being adjusted for inflation), I'm not sure if we'll be seeing any more of these films for the foreseeable future
See how it plays out, I guess, but it's not exactly the most optimal starting position
