Hi MadSexy. We usually don't eat banana leaf but using it to wrap or cover the food. It has a lovely fragrance and also help to absorb the moisture from the food. Thank you for the question. 😀😀
Hi Dzafarul Ariff. I would not recommend to do that as the sticky rice will absorb too much water from the steam and become too wet overtime. Once very wet it will lose it's texture. I hope this helps. Thank you for the comment. 😊
Hi Frima Gigie. Tank you for the question. I steamed it for 25 minutes. It is also depending on the heat. If high heat steaming time maybe lesser, wise versa if low heat it will definitely take longer time to steam until the sticky rice is cooked. Happy cooking😄

Hi johnny zeros, thank you for sharing your experience 😄 Yes, using a little oil will help in helping to loosen the sticky rice at the bottom of the pan. I suggest to use onion oil, it will give a nice fragrance to the rice as well and goes very well with fried meats 😄
Hi derek Tan, Yes, you can but the sticky rice will be too wet or it may turn out to be like porridge when it's done. You can replace banana leaf with a transparent kitchen cloth/ napkin. If you have a "bamboo sushi mat" will be good. Either cloth or bamboo mat will help to absorb the moisture between the sticky rice and the bottom of the pan so that your sticky rice won't be too wet when it's done.
