Zorpal Weapon tends to be better for longer phases, since it just has full uptime, even though the buff is smaller. Glad they added Zorpalshot for some of the shorter phases though
@@Zed-gj8vq are we talking about the same perk? i thought zorpalshot reverses all weapon damage buffs, and with the -30% dmg to female enemies from godslayer i thought it would be good for witness dps because the witness is really all genders at once

@knayvik nah zorpal WEAPON is a different perk. It gives +10% dmg for each day you've gone without touching grass, maxing out at 25%. The reason it's better for longer damage phases is because 99% of d2 players go days without touching grass so they will always have it at it's highest buff for free.
Aegis! When Song of Flame is paired with spirit of the claw or claws itself, your melee energy overflows into snap so fast it allows you to spam it pretty heavily. I pulled around 5.6 mil on hefnd using primarily that and microcosm, so it may be worth testing further!

I think the raid guides this time around really cemented how little most of the popular D2 youtubers actually know about the game. Hard agree it's these smaller creators who truly know the interactions, stats and effects.
Finally a reputable source talks about warlock tick/buddy DPS as it’s close to being “free” with you not having to physically shoot them, I would like to see testing of 6 tick spam warlocks and if the shatter/unravel spam can power through other team mates possibly stealing your own instances of damage or not

A fun (minor) interaction with song of flame is that Claws of Ahamkara let's you spam snaps back to back. Makes it a real pity it's in the same column as stareater on the class items
It's probably unrealistic, but star eater cast then swap to claws would theoretically work

I like how Twilight Arsenal is a shift not because of the DPS and debuff it can add but because its universally applicable unlike most of Titan's Supers where they just dont work on like half the relevant bosses in the game.
Really and truly, before Twilight Arsenal the "default option" (ie, none of the six melee supers can work and there's a Warlock in the same post code as you rendering Ward of Dawn redundant) was Hammer of Sol. Which wasn't exactly great DPS but it was at least *something*. Twilight Arsenal being able to present competent DPS at more or less the time it takes Slowva to explode and then the babies to find the boss again, while also allowing Titan to apply weaken at range, basically makes it a solid default because... Like, what else are you gonna use?

About the buddy warlock dps rotation, not only can you unravel with arcane needle but you can proc facet of dawn and keep radiant up for the extra damage!
Yeah it's really versatile, 3 easy to use Dawn procs is really nice
Something worth noting about Song of Flame, the fire bird grenade counts for the demolitionist perk reload. As such weaving a demo Apex Predator or Roar of the Bear is a significant boost to the overall damage output without much of an impact on the grenade to melee alternation timing.
Out of curiosity, what is your favorite damage strat / rotation? Not what you're best at or what does the most damage, just what damage strategy you find the most fun to pull off
The hunter rotations from last season were pretty fun, I also enjoy warlock Thread of Ascent rotations :P
Edit: I’m kinda stupid and severely misremembered what occurred when I tested this. So, synthocepts do buff the ignition damage of the snap, but only out of the super. I think this makes the melee do more damage out of super than in super.
I’m kinda surprised you didn’t talk about synthocepts with the song of flame exotics. It increases the the melee by 2.5x, including the ignition. Though, the ignition only is increased if the first scorch is a melee and counts as melee damage, like with sunbracers. It’s pretty good with acrius if you can be surrounded, like in ir yut.
It can also be used with apotheosis, which is kinda nice for an acrius rotation to continue spamming 2.5x ignition melees after song ends or just with a nova (though, in nova without star eaters feels counterproductive). I love the video and the amount of effort you go through to get good numbers

Another one is spirit of the claw with Star-Eaters, since you can actually spam that melee at max speed without any consequences. Used it in the Glassway GM and it was very effective.

@@cmdrmeldoc59 Spirit of the Claw and Star Eater are in the same column. Since SES swapping on the class item does not work, as indicated in the video, that is not possible in any fashion.
I'm confused. I've tried Synthoceps with Song of Flame when it first came out and it did not work at all. I just tried it again now, and it still does not work. Are you sure this is a thing?

Whishful ignorance also works with the flechette storm. You should look into that. Not saying it will destroy synthos, but it is highlighted in the exotic description, so i think it deserves a chance
I did, it's not great
I don't think it's any good for boss DPS, but it gives Berserker a ranged damage ability, which is not bad, you can more easily proc Propagation from afar for example. If you tunnel the slashes on one guy it does respectable damage, roughly enough in my experience to remove a GM champ w/o running out of slashes. Because of the Banner recharge component, it has high uptime, so it's kinda useful. Not the strongest thing, but fun IMHO.
Twilight arsenal being that much lower than nova and celestial is brutal, I really hope they cook with the buffs.

19:10 iirc with solar grenades, only one solar nade ticks, but the globs from all of them do damage
i believe(?) it's the same with most other things, only one instance of that respective DoT will tick across all players
Yeah I know the globs can independently do damage but I was just surprised that it's still nearly 200K a nade just from them
From my testing in year 1, solar and vortex nades don't stack and can only have 1 instance damaging a given target at a time. I believe voidwall, thermite and I know pulse grenades do stack, but it has been 6 and a half years since I tested this so it could've changed

with Song of Flame & the Exotic class item The claw, it gives you 2 snaps at the start. I can do a 2 snap 1 grenade cycle pretty easily with its uptime
though i doubt it would come close to Star Eaters of course
i’d be interested to see your thoughts on the best ways to apply buffs/debuffs in lower man content while still keeping good dps and roaming gameplay. other than that great vid and can’t wait for more content!
Probably using Prismatic nade debuff (either Snare Bomb or Freezing Singularity)

I am so glad you put some numbers up for Sol Invictus + Other supers! We were testing it pre-tfs and it was just too niche to test any further but I was always curious.
There's one weird team damage comp I'd love to see tested, and it's using caster frames with attrition orbs and wolfpacks and spamming supers. With a whole team doing it I imagine you'll get supers incredibly quickly, so with cuirass thundercrash you could put out some ridiculously high total damage, although I don't know how good the DPS would be.
With recuperation you'd have insanely high health regen too, so survivability against non burst damage wouldn't be an issue either. Probably wouldn't be too tier, but would be very funny

Theoretically, you can pre-pop Nova Bomb and Needlestorm if you time it really well, Nova Bomb Cataclysm will be more forgiving since it takes longer to reach the target.

It’s sad to see how much the Titans have fallen off this DLC. Yes we got Hazardous Propulsion, which may be our best positive right now. I’m curious the impact it has on the dps meta.
Eh, Titan DPS has been lagging a bit for years. It's not really news. On a more general level, Arc and Stasis need some love across all three classes, and Sentinel is also kinda lagging, but Solar, Strand, and Prismatic Titans keep up in most respects. Really they could use a Rain of Fire equivalent (imagine if Hazardous reloaded all the guns it worked with /drool)

Regarding winter’s wrath, you can cancel the second projectile to save on super energy and extend the super. It literally doesn’t matter but I think it needs to be said for posterity.

@@gavo7911no, the super gets a lot of dmg from the threadlings (no thread of evolution)
@@JUIIICED. Still, those threadlings are super damage (if they kill a guardian in pvp it counts as a needlestorm kill and generates orbs) so it should benefit from Star Eaters.

Something I'd LOVE to see if whether running star-eater needlestorm or star-eater nova alongside Euphony. I wonder if the sheer burst of Nova outscales stacking spindle with a needlestorm
apparently double exotic class item is still a thing, it just requires you to do some real funny stuff where you beat the mission, make it so your spawn isn't kept and it puts you at the beginning the area just after doing the symbols, there then is enough time on the clock to get back to the final area and claim the second exotic

Gotta say, really surprising that the 10% from courage bumps hellion to the level of ashes, which makes it ignite in one less shot. Ashes still feels far better for roam content but it's interesting that they match up so closely for passive DPS.
I cannot stress enough how good Song of Flame is when you’re the one in charge of using Tractor Cannon on a boss. Not only are you outputting damage that can keep up with everyone else, but you’re freeing up your Hunters’ super slot to go wild with Blade Barrage/Golden Gun/Gathering Storm. Now if I can just get the Star-Eater Apotheosis roll to drop.

When you get to solo damage rotations, I would love to know if taking Getaway for the arc soul is worth giving up the SES buff to Slowva bomb. Doubt it, but if they're close maybe some people would prefer it to make their neutral game easier.
Ive been using star eater eternal warrior on titan with edge transit since since the class item came out my main issue is not knowing what to pair with it to take advantage of the void 4x surge
cool to see arc buddy dps, I always wondered how much adding a rift on arc warlock would help a dps phase, fun fact, I outdamaged every person on our raid team when fighting crota with a dragon's breath shot > geomag chaos reach > dragon's breath shot > scatter signal spam (the rest was doing a variety of swords; guillotine, lament, bequest)
For the solar nades doing ridiculous dmg, it’s tough of flame. If the lava blobs from touch solar grenades direct hit something they deal their dmg instantly (not sure if it’s actually the total dmg of the burn pool or something else tho). Templar has a good hit box to catch a lot of those before they touch ground so instead of a non stacking burn you get a whole bunch of instant dmg hits

Void wall much like thermite has often been one of those historically(talking ages back) “always been solid” effects, I think it’s just realistically the setup and application just doesn’t really pan out often because of how physical time and damage wise it’s not really concentrated the same way as other grenades which can lead to a lot of effect damage off target, 99.9% of the game that you’re going to get with it can be dispatched with other means even if it’s less damage thrown at them, and physically you can’t just plop the grenade on a solid target like a vortex or fusion, there is the canisters angle and bounce that can be goofed. It’s a lot of good on paper stuff the application is where it gets iffy.

Be fully charged So you spam melee And if you use heavy snap. With the fragment that increases scorch On top of solar Buddy. Almost every hit you do and your solar buddy do will trigger Ignite

Have you by any chance looked at song of flame with claws of ahamkara? Due to the additional charge there is no downtime with spamming the melee as once you use the melee the second melee is already back. Also since the grenade wisp has a slightly longer cooldown I believe you are able use two snaps before the wisp grenade is back.

I know warlock prismatic nade its not as good as hunters one for raw damage, but I been trying it with incinerator snap, even when theres no minors around, assuming the boss stays in the nade radius for most of the time and you can ignite from the snap (not hard with the bigger hitbox of bosses) I get both abilities back quite fast, I wonder how that stacks overall, besides, its utility is great, it helps weakening targets with void, and applies a darkness debuff for facet of courage
What about a video talking about the solo witness damage rotation? Could be a short if you're quick, but a larger video could be good too.

Since the Warlocks on my team have been running Song of Flame (instead of Well), I've been running Banner Shield to grant the 40% damage to weapons. In other words, SoF indirectly made Banner Shield more relevant.
It still gives the teamates around radiant AND more dr than well. Tbh i think well should give more dr to teamates than song of flame (song of flame shouldnt give that imo)
@@dankplagueis9253song does NOT give radiant to teammates. Only the casting warlock. That’s the trade off. Ability regen, scorch rounds and high DR with song. Well is resto x2, radiant for all even when leaving the well and some minor DR. They want you to have a reason to use well still

Its more restrictive as it takes a fragment and requires solar as the prismatic varient doesn’t share it on hit but on kill instead. The innate lack of sharing radiant is a restriction, but i do believe it is rather easy to overcome
@@dankplagueis9253 I suppose but the main selling point my team has on one well always is because having a constant source of healing is a comforting thing knowing you can just focus on dps still. And of course making three orbs instantly for surges is massive in terms of dps. Song doesn’t really make orbs on cast since it requires kills to make its stupid 12-14 ofbs
The biggest issue with twlight arsenal is the tracking just straight up breaks and goes in random directions sometimes... but man, it says a lot that it's titans one and only reliable burst option and it still needs buffs 😢. Still, I've been having fun with it, it's a great addition to titan.
Wish I was on PC so I could use that afk farming tool to finally get Star Eaters for my Warlock, my RNG has been ass with the exotic class items
I just wished they’d also fix thunder crash hit detection. The amount of times I’ve slid around while trying to hit a boss or just phasing through is too damn high. Also love the videos, preciate the amount of work and effort you put into all your videos and information.
Claws of ahamkaka work with song of flame btw. You can do 2 melee's before your wisp is recharged. Perhaps very strong if you have a exotic bond with spirit of the claw and spirit of the star-eater

When I can, especially in free roam, dungeons, etc. it’s actually not bad damage with Star Eaters. Sometimes I get bored of Golden Gun. Will always love it though!
How would song of flame go with a necrotic/grasps class item? That gives you 2 melees that afaik deal extra damage from poison
That is a combo I can test since SES and Necrotic are available together

I think one thing that stasis ability’s in general need to be accounted for is that they give a 10% stacking debuff for non primary’s and ability’s which might effect testing like what you did for bleakwatcher. Although the effective debuff is lower due to the naturally limited uptime.
Song of Flame + Tractor + Trench Agg Shotty is very strong for melee range bosses. Consistently coming close to fully juiced swords during Herald while providing tractor debuff.
It only took 6 years for warlocks to get their first competitive burst damage super in D2 history.
I don't know if you tested it but chain lightning basically has 0 cooldown whilst transcendent, it probably isn't competitive in the DPS department but I'm curious either way. Also did you test/consider testing song of flame with star eater + claw?

For Twilight: I think that buff is actually coming in August per the TWAB. I do believe they said in the stream it was coming at Act 2 launch but I think that was a miscommunication.

a rotation/damage idea that has been bouncing around in my head since pyrogale came out:
thermites are one of the better grenades for swap dps, so what if you used roaring flames and pyrogale hoil swap? in dungeon scenarios like avarokk or certain bosses with access to adds during dps like rhulk shadow thrall, it shouldnt be too hard to get roaring flames in a good window before dps, giving 15-20 seconds of a near verity level 73% damage increase to your thermites, alongside a damage super in pyrogale. to capitalize on the short window you have to benefit from roaring flames, the initial cast of pyrogale will generate a sunspot for 12 seconds and you can swap to hoil in menu during the cast animation similar to celestial -> foetracer swap. combining those two scalars and benevolence torches throwing hammer, you can seriously crank your ability uptime. normally the spam of abilities would be dps loss but i am curious if the multiplier from roaring flames and optimized ability timing in something like an izzy/wild/apex rotation could work out. this is probably a huge pain to realistically test, but i would love to hear your thoughts on the premise

Something i wanted to look at was heavy and specials doing extra damage against frozen targets, which i always presumed to be negligible but now that silence and squall is so close to nighthawk now and it freezes way more often now, i’m interested to see how it interacts with your fireteam’s damage, if it can surpass golden gun. Let me know if you’d wanna test that sometime :)

My damage testing goat
The primary attack of Winter's Wrath can be canceled with right click halfway through shooting to only release one volley of icicles. Lets you conserve enough super energy to go from 6 shatters to 8 shatters. May not be the greatest for DPS, but with Ballidorse Wrathweavers I think it's decent total damage. Also something nice is that iirc you can swap from whatever exotic youre using to Ballidorse after already casting your super and still get the damage bonus.
I tried doing that and it looked like it reduced overall damage (?) not too sure but you can try testing it to see if you can get some better results
@@TheAegisRelic Huh, you're right. Did some testing against Carl and the damage for each right click shockwave was increased by 140% and the shatter by 20%. Swapping to it mid super or freezing by any means other than the icicles only increased damage by 100% and the shatter 0%. Swapping OFF of the exotic during super still gave everything a 20% bonus. Pretty odd how it works.
I think it's because you end up shockwaving before the icicles actually freeze the boss, which is why I was so close to the boss in my testing footage, pretty weird idk

This is basically how I reacted when that first big rotation video came out in S21 or whatever; it's tough to find reliable information on DPS in this game!
From the wording used, it sounds as if you're confused on the subject of Solar grenades stacking their d.o.t. and its function pre-Solar 3.0. Sunbracers were initially underpowered due to Solar grenades at base not doing any noticeable improvement to damage when stacked vs just 1. That functionally changed in Season of the Haunted, where they gave boosted solar grenades the globs of lava that shoot out. The touch of Flame enhance to solar grenades is what allows them to stack on top of each other for massive profit.
I imagine if you tested with a single solar grenade, or if you calculated the damage of 4? grenades with apotheosis veil to see a more even comparison
No I'm aware that solar DoT doesn't stack but globs do, I was just surprised it manages to do 200K a nade even with 4 stacked
Finally my opinion came in
Would you consider the rocket dmg from Hazardous rockets ability damage because it procs off of class ability? And would it be better to run hazardous for your rotations or star eaters/cuirass for the bonus dmg??
I'll touch on Exodus Rocket volley damage at some point, I lowkey forgot to put it in this video even though I have data stuff done for it haha

Thank you for all the testing. I found it very interesting.
For DPS purposes, I used to go with my Warlock in Supremacy, Primary, and Apex. I go with Rewind Rounds and Kinetic Tremors for my Supremacy, and BnS and Demo for my Apex.
As I wear Starfire Protocol, the goal was to proc BnS with 2 shots of Supremacy (to proc Kinetic Tremors) and then go rocket/grenade/rocket, then reload. I usually shoot my full reserve pretty quickly.
I know it's not an optimized DPS strat, but it's so easy to go with. Do you think it's still relevant in the new sandbox or not anymore?

If u use the frag that gives jolt and weaken ur warlock prismatic grande can weaken and ur arc can jolt this is kool because in solo content u can use expanding abyss and get a jolt off wonder what a rotation like this with edge transient does

I have a sword boss rotation i used to use on Crota that has been buffed with wolfpack Urgo Sum being a thing, and I'd be curious how it stacks up as a rotation if you feel like trying it:
Arc hunter, Gathering Storm super, Star Eaters x6 then swap to Foetracer on cast
Full mag of fourth horseman, dodge reload, full mag
Swap to relentless/whirlwind Goldtusk (pop grenade to reproc Foetracer) light attack spam
Swap to holster mod reloaded Fourth horseman full mag x2, melee finish to reproc foetracer
Swap to Goldtusk spam till finish
Also if this is viable, I'd be curious if a Summum Bonum with relentless/Chaos Reshaped X2 would be better than Goldtusk, as I don't have that roll yet.
The only thing that I feel was potentially missed here is the damage of verity buffed Gunpowder Gamble. Frankly just curious if it's actually any good, I assume it's not great DPS wise considering you need to enable it through add clear somehow.
I'm also curious if Synthos on the class item buffs the Song of Flame melee attack in which case it SHOULD be better than Star Eater Scales IF it provides the full 165% damage buff to the melee, considering the melee is where the majority of the damage from that super comes, compared to only 70% from star eaters. Frankly I assume it just doesn't work which is a bit sad.
Very curious to see the DPS setup video and particularly on Warlock how things compare with Euphony. Essentially if it's worth running Apotheosis + Star Eaters with threadling grenade and needlestorm with prismatic to build stacks for Euphony or if you get better overall DPS just using a star eaters Nova Bomb and missing out on those needlestorm stacks. Plus if it's actually better to run Euphony on prismatic with needlestorm and star eaters or if you should just be running Strand with normal Apotheosis and taking advantage of thread of evolution to buff all the threadling damage, considering you don't get the full 70% star eaters buff on prismatic anyway. Not having to worry about picking up 6 extra orbs to buff needlestorm would be nice to know about.
Yeah it seems strong, but mostly a buildcrafting thing not a DPS thing
Something I don’t see many people talking about is how warlock transcendence grenade is a free weaken effect for dps
Tbf all Prismatic subs have access to weaken void nades
@@TheAegisReliche means that during transcendence. Hunter is solar and stasis. Titan is strand and arc. Only warlock has void.
Fun fact: Banner of War can buff your allies' melee damage, and some supers (like Arc Staff) count as melee damage.
I figured this out after watching a TDT "Things You Didn't Know" video explaining that ACD/0 can proc off of some supers and a video by someone else (can't remember) talking about how allies can get the Banner of War melee buff. So, imagine some of those melee/super numbers being increased by 40% with a Strand Titan nearby.
I need to go back to testing some of these myself.

love the video! ive been curious about a dps rotation on prismatic hunter using a star eater and foetracer cloak on golden gun and caster pf ergo sum. something about popping 6x stareaters with golden gun then having x4 ergo sum with transcendence seems like it can really cook. plus you can use surges of another type on your boots for your heavy if you were to add one in! would love to know your thoughts if you have any
