Corrections:
- Lightweight light attacks do the same damage as adaptive light attacks, my own data shows this but I thought otherwise for some reason
- Apparently some archetypes of Ergo Sum are buffed differently by Transcendence, I will test soon and leave results here
- More options like Telesto aggressive and Polaris vortex will be added soon as well

Someone mentioned some archetypes/frames gain 21%, some 51. Aggressive Vortex and …possibly caster being the higher ones. Maybe not aggressive. Vortex being relatively strong even with ammo consumption considered. Some such.
Hey question! What’s up with the aerial goldtusk combo in the spreadsheet? Is it that its dps is high- yet unreliable(depending on boss)? I remember it being mentioned as no longer good long ago and was just wanting to confirm
Also one other thing- I watched this one sword dps testing video by a content creator named CptZepos and he uses DDT for his testing and comes to conclusion for all legendary swords, the best dps and total dmg involves combos that Involve light and heavy attacks across all frames, but in certain cases and listings it is said “light spam only”, what is best? Light heavy combos (respective to the swords frame) or light only , specifically on legendary swords.
@@north9372 I always thought it was one of those things where when executed could technically produce high results but input and application can be awkward, some bosses don’t cooperate as nice, and the lasagna code can sometimes just not count stuff that should’ve hit even though you did everything right. I’ve often seen it chalked as “complicated” as a choice because chances are you’re better off just going with a “normal sword” attack cadence because there’s just not really a ton of situations physically in the game where you really need to overthink a sword, let alone something that shines from a particular attack input.
I know that this was hell for you to grind, but if there was ANYTHING in TFS that we needed rigorous testing on, it was Ergo Sum. There's just too many combinations to get straight answers on "what is best" for players that only have access to like a handful of rolls each. So your sacrifice is much much appreciated here
I personally like the Colony + Aggressive or Riskrunner + Lightweight combo, but I've been using it in light content like Overthrow, Standard Breach Executable, Advanced Nightfall, Strikes, Gambit, etc rather than actual boss damage.
I don't know what ungodly spaghetti code allows wolfpack rounds to work with relentless strikes but I enjoy that interaction very much

probably the same code that allowed chill clip rockets to instafreeze and shatter bosses. hopefully it stays this time

Thanks for taking the time to do this. No one would have believed me if I said Ergo Sum caster frame is the highest DPS sword in the game.
It's not, add the 5% dmg boost from trancendance to the others swords and they'll beat Ergo... barely. With really hard to activate perks for dps (surrounded) it's mostly semantics, but Ergo is not the highest dps sword

@@dratoriasgaming9935 He mentioned in the vid that he isn't adding the transcendent dmg on the non-Ergo Sum swords. His reasoning for using it with Ergo Sum and not other swords was that "You're supposed to use Ergo Sum with transcendent"
@@gamingoverlord8854 I'll point out that surrounded is a super inconsistent damage perk, as you need to be able to keep enemies around you without killing them too quickly. Whirlwind blade is the easiest to keep up
Every Pale Heart weapon is a banger. Even the legendary sword is really good for what it is.
Perfect, my opinion has revealed itself.
The Riskrunner Ergo Sum makes add clear / breathing room in the Verity encounter absolutely fucking deliciously divine. Even before the catty you never run out of ammo, you get to go comfort picks for smacking the shit outta the unstops, no one else is worrying about being overrun because everything is dead.
there are like 2 enemies that spawn in verity. even on day 1 the combat wasn’t a threat
Idk if its a bug, but the perk won't attack the exploding hive thralls

When I found out Perfect Fifth procs with multihits I was expecting caster or vortex frames to be on top immediately, caster's ammo efficiency and being able to proc it from a significant distance gives it a good bit of flexibility over other frames as well.
They gave us that but not the same thing for Cold Steel smh

Is vortex perfect 5th still good? I can't really see it on the sheet, was it tested?
@@AARONMACKENZIE it doesn't proc multiple times with cold steel? Thats a shame. How about with whirlwind blade? do you get max stacks after 1 heavy then?
Something I found during my own testing is that Song of Flame allows a Perfect Fifth ignition on every heavy due to the innate scorch stacks on Solar hits. This lets you effectively have Ember of Ashes while Transcendant. Might be something worth testing in terms of overall DPS with it.
No clue if this is relevant but I'm pretty sure the new arc hunter aspect counts as sword damage. It inherits the perks that you have on your equipped swords while you're holding them. If you have demo on your sword it will give grenade energy back if you kill enemies with the spin. It inherits chain reaction from swords. It grants a stack to whirlwind blade on hit. It inherits Ergo Sum's stormbringer and insectoid robot grenades. If you're holding a sword and spin it will work for bait and switch.
It doesn't spawn wolfpack rounds though.
It can also proc perks like tireless blade and fragments like spark of beacons!

Are we sure that 51% is true for all frames? I've heard that caster/wave frame ergos don't get buffed as much during transcendant
I tested the caster specifically for the overall stacked test and the results checked out but as for specific values without Pack etc. I'm not 100%, I think I tested with a lightweight for the base values

@@r3mxd I know it’s not the first time. But I don’t think there’s been an exclusive meta where you are just using special weapons to kill if I remember correctly. Double slug meta was always with anarchy tractor.
There was a very specific use case with Calus and Coldheart in the first Leviathan raid, but that is all I can think of. When Merciless and the Ikelos shotgun were best in slot for damage, they were still heavy weapons.

Arc conductor wave is super fun to use in anything legend or lower. Fast clearing and crazy ability spam through transcendence. But in master or GM you’ll just die.
It's like a Forbearance that is more fun to use and way more uptime, but obviously, you need to be way closer so its ruled out from high-end content.
Your not immortal but you can run the normal hunter prismatic build with dome grenade and slow shade step and you go invisible and just walk around and get free kills even in master Nightfall
I ran it in gm excision and survived fine enough.
@@kyeda ItsTizzy literally did day 1 raid with lightningSurge felwinter combo. You can do high end content with melee builds/close builds just fine > as long as you know what you're doing and build around it lol. I've been using this with WaveConductor sword since tfs dropped practically lol. Got it on day 2

Awesome testing, thanks a ton. I knew my caster polaris felt strong, its great to see the numbers. I will vouch for traveler's chosen though! With volatile rounds on grenade kill & lucent blade stacking, it's super easy to hit 10 stacks, swap to refill your grenade, and repeat. Very powerful ad clear choice that rivals pre-nerf chain reaction forbearance. Obviously, ad clear is a dime a dozen, but if you wanted to use this thing specifically *for* ad clear, its a great choice!

Quick question: as the polaris ergo is so contingent on ignitions, I assume it's best for only 1 person to be running it? Or can you get away with 2?

Another thing to note, is that the Caster Frame Polaris sword can be used on solar aswell with ember of ashes each Heavy attack causes an ignition.
It won;t be the best for main dps, but as a swap (Like witherhoard) it does more than most options including withhoard.

Ember of ashes is irrelevant for ergo sum as you get significantly more damage while transcendent (which you can only do as prismatic)

very interesting findings. I feel the best route is to have both a riskrunner and perfect 5th sword. risk runner to get trancendance back the fastest and with the least ammo, then swap to perfect 5th for when you go trancendant.
I myself like to use 2 swords on titan with stronghold. Give myself restox2 for lots of added survivability, plus i can just block to get close to get my light attacks off. I was considering even with the perfect 5th sword in dps to quickly swap to say a throne cleaver with enguard to just do a light then heavy attack quickly, then back to ergo for light light heavy, then back to the enguard sword, and repeat the combo. Surrounded may be higher damage but enguard is no conditions and pretty close damage wise, plus fits this quick swap style.
Would that Idea work? would I gain more damage quick quick swap en guard?
