    @jenazi you can see that it is engraved on the Sizer itself... 5.00 mm = .20 cal
    The unit is:
    OD = 75mm
    ID 66mm (this is so it can sit ontop of a small pellet tin to collect sized pellets.)
    H = 25.4mm
    The holes are tapered and drilled with a reamer - so as you push pellets through, the head and skirt are swaged to a uniform size. Top part of hole will be larger than bottom of hole. Botom of hole will be minimum 5.00mm but something like 5.02-5.05mm would allow a comfort fit into breech.

    I feel like the smaller skirt would just reduce the air seal between the pellet and the barrel, reducing pellet speed and/or accuracy.

      You are not sizing smaller... you are swaging to actual size with consistancy

    It may improve accuracy but it loses better sealing on the part of the skirt. It would be better to have a pellet resize with tapered hole

      The hole is made with a tapered reamer... and the pellet gets swaged to size - the idea is to make consistent sized pellets with perfect round skirts etc... this is just another way to try and improve accuracy.

    The problem is you should just be sizing the head and leave the skirt alone. The skirt should be a compression fit in the barrel. Sizing should keep the head to skirt ratio unaffected. The only one I know of that does that is made by Terry Robb(er).

    What is the function of it?

    I hate to rain on the parade, but the airgun barrel does that job when you chamber the pellet. The bigger problem is HEAD size, as in is it big enough to touch the rifling, or be engraved by the rifling, And then, are they consistant from one to the other ( again, head size) This governs accuracy. Some may address sizing the head DOWN, but unfortunately,having all the pellets in a tin being the SAME head size, and large enough to engage/engrave by the rifling, and said size actually be true to whats written on the tin, IS THE REAL PROBLEM. Again, the skirt gets sized DOWN upon chambering. The heads are usually any number of 5 or six different head sizes in a tin. Somehow match grade wadcutters have gotten the head size issue solved. Just saying.

    Re-sizing every pellet seems to be some work, while not beeing an expert, I believe in the gain in accuracy and consistency. It might very well be worth it, but.
    Using a shallow tin poses two problems. You may crush an already re-saped pellet when pushing the tool to the bottom and, from what I hear in the video, you slam the bottom wich may widen the skirt and damage the head on impact.
    Why not use a deeper jar even fitted with a paper funnel so that the amo don't fall hard on the bottom?

      or you can size a few and empty.

    does it work with wadcutters?

    Have you noticed your groupings getting tighter, all things taken into consideration, such as more practiced now than before? I guess a test of non-sized, and sized would give some sort of result.

    They need to be weighed first then resized.

    • @Gigitt
      @Gigitt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would size first then weight them into batches. Sizing could potentially remove any swarf or rub some material away (yeah it may be tiny). This technically changing the weight of the pellet.
