    I washed and lubed and also sorted by weight and size. I don't do it anymore as I found no accuracy improvements compared to straight out of the just opened tin.

    The idea is OK - reasonable and understandable. However, there is a catch: by pouring pellets the way you do and then agitating them in that pot, there is a high probability of damaging the pellets, first of all deforming their skirts.

      I agree that I might treat my pellets a little more delicately, but when he zooms into the finished product at 7:55, his pellets look OK.

      I agree too, I use a plastic container, and gently roll the pellets around in dishwashing liquid, then again slowly and gently pour and rinse off these washed pellets into a plastic sieve , the onto paper towel, and set aside to dry etc.
      I was amazed at the chips of lead and debris that is left behind in the plastic washing bottle/container.

      @@regsparkes6507 Yeah. But the amount of "debris" is much lower compared to different no-name pellets made in Turkey or China. A few years ago, I bought a can of .177s at the local flea market (I live in Serbia), which were so dirty - literary soaking with dark gray lead powder - so that they made my hands looking as if I just came from a coal mine. It took me half an hour to scrub that dirt from the palms and fingers of my hands, using the combination of a dissolvent and a detergent in the process.

      @@DrAgan_tortojed Then again as my hands can't take the harsh 'grease cutting' agents in those soaps, I have to wear rubber gloves, I am also aware of possible toxins in those lead pellets, so, I have to use protective gloves.

    I like to put the pellets submerged in soapy water, drain this water off and replace it with warm water for the first rinse, then into a colander and finish rinsing off the soap, finally a light coating of oil, my tin is covered inside with felt to stop them being damaged and stopping them rattling in your pocket.

    Use a small silicone soray used to maintain guns after washing the pellets out them standing and spray them dont overdo it afterwards i use a small air compressor i have to just blow some off and place them back at the tin each time you shoot you also maintain your barrel with that silicone spray it just needs a littke bit also your method with the bag is a really good one im gona lube some pellets that way today

    This has to be a good idea, after a shoot my hands are filthy with muck from the pellets. Apart from the fact you are making your gun dirty each time you handle it, it can't be a good idea to put the same muck through the gun. Definitely washing and lubing my pellets from now on. Good video.

    Been lubing my 22 and 25 pellets for a while now. Got myself the new Avenge x in 25 and shot for a while before changing it over to 1.77.
    20 yards pellets were all over the place. Chased my tail for a month on barrel bands/sniffers, adjustable scope rings, 2 different scopes, multiple cleanings, etc etc. was lazy and grabbed a new tin of 177’s .. i was stacking pellets all the sudden? No way. Grabbed the tin of lubed pellets again and shot them … again all over the place. Apparently the avenge x barrel does not like lubed pellets. Funny, i read about it but never had a issue until now.

    Oh yeah ,I love to massage my bag too, or even better get the Mrs to lube and massage my bag , seriously though a couple of squirts of Napier from the 125 ml atomiser bottle into a 1/2 tin of pellets then gently roll the tin for a couple of minutes and good to go ,keeps barrel in good condition and I have found it helps lube your magazines too 😊

    I thought I was crazy cause I thought my new pellet revolver had lubed cylinder clips and tin of pellets had slight amounts a film of lube on them and it made loading & firing more successful I bought more pellets and gun dry pellets are squibing getting stuck not firing sliding smooth and now I found this video. I would be VERY interested to see comparison weight data of the pellets before and after washing (and before lubrication, of course) to have real data as to what amount of "dirt," if any, is in respective brands' tins. You could even use a paper coffee filter under your "ceramic strainer" to see what, if anything, your rinsing out. Btw, do you shoot competitive ly? Hunt regularly to put food on the table? Or is this therapy of sorts, something I can certainly relate to!

      I think more most part its just about trial and testing. What will work for someone may not work for others. At the shooting range someone was really pushing a resizing tool and so i bought one, went through a whole 500 piece tin and tbh there was no difference for me and my barrel

    • @scinanisern9845
      @scinanisern9845 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theoretically the difference it makes is that after you fire hundreds of these rounds there IS no difference. A common complaint about spread grouping patterns is dealt with by cleaning and lubing the barrel. Doing this cleans and lubes as you go so a difference is not seen.
