I’ve been a convert for about 2 yrs, now.
    They’re awesome pellets.
In my LW barrels, they outshoot anything else and the same goes for my Weihrauch.
IMO they do lose a little stability past 35-40 meters but closer than that, they’re unbeatable for my guns.
You mentioned that they’re nice and clean, and they are, but I’d also add that, in the hand, they feel like they’re mildly lubed.
    Great video 👍

Those 9.56gr streamline have to be the best 0.177 pellet I've ever used, through multiple guns.
I do hope they bring out some 0.22 pellets sometime.

I’ve been using these for well over a year and the new QYS 13g magnum are spot on and hit really hard. I stopped using JSB as the number of buckled skirts 60+ per tin was awful.
Not seen a single buckled skirt in any QYS pellet and it’s got nowt to do with packaging.

Same here in my 97K. I was shooting in the wind the other day and they wouldn’t group. I was testing in a new prosport, so I tried exacts and they grouped much better. Tried the QYS again the next day (no wind) and they grouped better than the exacts…lol. Now I’m really gonna have to test them in the wind to be sure. QYS is hands down the cleanest best looking pellets out of the tin I’ve seen. And the most accurate out of my 97K.

JSB Heavy’s were my go to pellet and they are still very good. Yes you get the odd bad tin and wobbly skirt (which is annoying) but my guns seem to like them. However, after using QYS 9.56g for the past year or so, I’ve noticed a couple of differences! Firstly I don’t seem to be cleaning my barrels as often as I would using JSB or other brands. They are very clean looking and yes I agree, better to handle, you don’t want to go straight for a butty after handling a JSB heavy 🥴
Secondly how much better to have a screw lid top,y go to pellet years ago was the wasp, which also had screw lid, and the bisley had little impressions in the tin to prevent opening up on you. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had JSB open inside my gun bag or case and I find myself taking tape to the range.

I have found these pellets the most consistent and accurate I have ever used. My unregulated S510 likes the 9.56 domed better than the streamlined. But my Daystate Huntsman Regal prefers the 9.56 streamlined both in 4.49 head size. So highly recommended but as usual try a sample before you buy as they are one of the most expensive pellets on the market.

  • @tommychew6544
    @tommychew6544 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Thanks for the comparison! I've only used the locally sourced pellets I can get my hands on here in the states and I'm only now learning there is a much larger world out there pellet wise. Even before I recently started looking into TH-cam channels like yours, I knew ammo mattered from having been a Marine that it was the mass produced ball ammo I was shooting on the range that was keeping me from shooting higher scores. I always shot high expert but that wasn't good enough, I always wanted the best possible, and I was and still am a highly disciplined shooter. Doing it with pellets of high quality is much cheaper than using my Winchester 270 deer hunting rifle with Hornady Superformance ammo. When I was a kid, I shot my pellet rifle so much I instinctively knew where my cheap pellets were going to hit. Wish I could still have that same ability at 55!

Great Video and good to see a proper review of them. I have been using them for nearly 3 years now and agree with everything you have said. They are excellent quality and will work in every barrel I have tried them in and the smoothness makes them a dream to pop into a springer and the accuracy/consistency in it is incredible with them. I can happily take the HW95 out to 50m with them.

QYS are the best pellets I've ever put through my Wildcat. Great for pest control and target shooting. I've not tried the pointed pellets as I try to steer clear of pointy jobs. The domed heavy are the ones I use, and have given improved accuracy at longer ranges.

I’ve been using the QYS Domed 8.48’s in my R10 MK1 for a while now. My barrel has been a little pellet fussy. It pretty much hates all things JSB, which is a shame. I had previously settled on Bisley Magnums which have always performed well, in fact the still do over longer ranges. I’d had the QYS pellets recommended and thought I’d give them a go. What a revelation, single holes at 30 metres, the length of my garden range. I have a little video or two uploaded on my channel. They’ve become a firm favourite of both my rifle and I.

I've been using QYS for a year or so in some rifles. As you say, it's the barrel that chooses the pellet. Both my HFT500 and Brocock Sniper HR are happy with either type of QYS, but for pure competition accuracy in 20M Benchrest under NSRA rules my HFT500 prefers the JSB Heavies, having won me my division in the Dorset postal league this year. I will be testing more before we compete again, but so far my barrels prefer the JSB's, but they do need more cleaning than with the QYS.

I have to agree with the negative reviews. I picked up a tin when I was in Vector Air on Thursday looking at options to fill the vacant .25 slot on my FAC.
Tried these pellets today at 40m and to my amazement the first one missed the bull by a little over 200mm. Don't think I've ever missed when using my BSA R10TH. I zeroed the rifle using Air Arms Field pellets (which the BSA loves) and then went back to the QYS. No matter how much I tried they were erratic with a very unpredictable spread.

He had an extensive range to share for testing and after a magazine of 10 or more pellets, I opted to go on and use QYS “heavy”. They work well in my PCP’s when consistency of feed from the magazine is beneficial as well as in flight. It can work out dearer finding a pellet than buying the gun! Surely gun shops should run a service let's say 40 quid drop your gun off come back in an hour or so and a bloke says I found the best pellet for your gun at 30yards is this or that pellet. Enjoyed your show

  • @longlowdog

I love your videos and very rarely have issues with anything you say however given all competition in the UK is restricted to sub 12 ft/lbs and QYS pellets are very competition oriented wouldn't a sub 12 rifle have been a more suitable test rig? Perhaps you have to cater to a more global audience as your sub's near 200k?
Regarding shooting out your aim point, when centerfire benchrest competitors compete they adjust the scope up or down an inch or two and the group is measured in clear space. This permits the maintenance of a minute aiming point typically as small as a hole in the printed number 8 on the numbering of the ring of your target at 100 yards. For your information the 100 yard record for a five shot group is a staggering 9 thou larger than caliber (a quarter of a spark plug gap) and the 1000 yard 5 shot group is sub two inches.
A rabbit eared rear bag filled with heavy zircon sand bag also contributes hugely to the accuracy process.
I hope you take this comment as a helping hand and not a destructive attempt to bring you down. Regards from Scotland.

I have been using these a lot recently. In both my Urgan and PP800. Great results. Using the Uragan, with standard QYS 25 yard and less they are pretty much same hole results. At 50 yards it's maybe a half inch spread and no flyers. I get similar with the goldstars but more flyers that I can't attribute to my shooting.

Noticed VA are charging the same price for the different varieties, choosing a (low) middle ground price, rather than having a £3 spread over them, which makes buying and testing all 3 to see which my rifles prefer easier and if it's the ones that are generally more expensive elsewhere, even better!

you are dead on Sir, I never gave to much attention beings i just like plinking but I received a in of Vortex Strike and I couldn't believe how filthy, damaged, lose debris and even shavings still attached to the pellet there were. Its nice going back to something that some actual care went into making. Thank you for the videos and happy holidays from across the pond Sir

I like the QYS Streamline 8.48 pellets I used to compete with them, I preferred them to the QYS Domes. Definitely worth a look. On weighing them they had very close tolerances in weight and very clean. Although I was disappointed as I recently bought a batch that weighed 9 grain and were difficult to load into my TX breech!! Because they are 4.50 they fly through any barrel and consequently you can get a higher feet per second with a heavier pellet which is unusual for a Spring rifle! However, after lots of pellet testing I use the JSB 8.44 4.51 which are the pellets best suited to my TX200 competition rifle. With QYS pellets I was finding that the groups begin to open up at around 40 yards which is not good for HFT. My Pro Sport and HW98 like them though!

    Hi Andy,
Thank you for this great, informative video on QYS pellets. They were a mystery to me, though now, after seeing your video, I'm much wiser.
They look great and worth a try. However, I remember when you were describing the pellets, you likened them to your daughters bodily feel when she was born.
I've read some of the comments, and one gentleman suggested they may be lubed?? I don't fancy whatever that may be lining my barrel.
Thank you for your super video, but I don't fancy the idea of lube, though they look very well presented.
    Thank you again, Ian.

Watch the video again. When he talked about his daughters waxy feel he was talking about "some other makes" not QYS which, incidentally, are not lubed.

Not to change the subject. Plus you probably don't play with BB's but the electric full auto seams to be very cool. Great for training ( AR-15 platform all metal cnc machined) close to 400fsp and no loss in power from the first shot to the last . Not sure if you did a review but if you can try and get your hands on one.

I use the streamlined 8.48 after trying a tin of the heavy version and never looked back they all shoot sweet as and very consistent without fliers like I had with the FTT. Now JSB's are shipping to America only I can see the stocks of these drying up in the uk as nothing is exporting from china right now. Great review maybe a great thing to use would be a riffle brace if testing anything and shoot indoors or no wind as you let the streamlined down, not your fault Andy I know it was breezy 😉
