I DYNO'D MY TUNED 2016 2.0T CAMARO!

  • Today is the day that you guys will finally see some baseline numbers that this car put down on the Dyno. Even though we have forged rods and pistons in my 2.0 Camaro we have not put a new tune in the car since rebuilding the engine. This tune is still based off of a car with no modifications so this will be a great indicator of what kind of power the stock turbo is capable of putting down with only a tune. As you saw a few videos back we have the catless downpipe and the new zzp tune ready to go in the car but we didn't want to put anything on without getting some baseline numbers of the car as is. Now we have some numbers to beat!
    There are many things to come for my 2.0 Turbo Camaro so be sure to SUBSCRIBE to stay up to date on this crazy build!

    Aye bro here is the list of mods u should do...
    1. Throw in an extra turbo or twin turbo
    2. Install a cool air intake
    3. Put bolt ons in your stock turbo and the add on turbo
    4. Don’t replace your exhaust manifold but your turbo exhaust manifold
    5. Put some valve springs on this beast
    6. Upgrade your throttle body
    7. Install a upper pulley and lower pulley
    Now these are the extra mods(optional)
    1. Cams
    2.headers
    3. E85 tune(not really necessary)
    4. Supercharger( but u need a stronger coolant and radiator since u are going to have turbo chargers with it too).
    5. X-pipes or downpipe u could do both if you are down with it.
    6. Put a quad exhaust for sure so your car can recycle air more faster
    7. U could do an engine swap by taking out the I4 and put a v6, but keep the stock turbo.
    But before u do all these mods just remember take it slowly go for the cheaper mods first then work your way to the top no pressure just invest in your car step by step alright bro. This is what I am planning to do.

    I'm really surprised that the horsepower is only 262. I thought the stock motor alone was near 270 horsepower? Car sounds amazing. I notice on my stock 2017 Turbo, she loses power over 3800 to 4000 rpm. basically at 105 to 110 or so. Another great video, keep them coming.

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well you have to remember that you lose about 15% power through the drive train on a rear wheel drive car. A stock 2.0T Camaro will put down 232 HP and 256 Torque. my best run for HP was 272 wheel which would be 320 HP at the crankshaft which is how manufacturers rate horsepower. In 5th gear the car put down 386 torque at the wheels which would be 454 at the crank. When we retune the car the gap between horsepower and torque will not be so severe.

    • @joedq
      @joedq 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the info. Dyno testing always confuses me. I do know I get a ton of drop off after 3800 RPM. Pulling it back down in 4th gives some more power but my RPM's shoot up like crazy. I'm planning on doing some modification's this summer and your video's and Strictly LTG's videos are going to be a big help. Going to need some Strictly LTG window graphics then!

    How much hp and psi do you think the stock engine and pistons could run? I really want to increase psi or get a bigger turbo, but I’m not sure how much the stock engine could handle before having to essentially replace everything with higher rated parts.

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matthew Burke I can't really give you an accurate answer but I know the tune that we ran in this video is for stock internals and they raise the Boost up somewhere around 22 to 24 psi. The numbers I ran in this video are about the limit of what you can push out of the stock internals safely, the bigger problem that destroys these engines is the oil that gets into the cylinders from the PCV line. If you don't already have a catch can I would definitely get one before trying to turn the boost up.

    • @StrictlyLTG
      @StrictlyLTG 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matthew Burke + the boost is relevant to the size of the turbo. Your question is good but very vague... You can get a good amount of performance with our Turbo Wrap. A tune, cam, our exhaust, will all help with perfomance... Boost should be added while your car is on a dyno. We have a part coming out in less than 2 weeks that will help greatly with adding boost. We are one of the only built ltgs on the internet. I am the guy who built the engine. I also make and sell parts for this engine based on my discoveries when rebuilding this engine. If StrictlyLTG.com makes it, I would put it on your car. We know what works and what doesn't. We have over 70,000 miles on the car. We have the engine figured out but it needs help....

After the tune I went up to 268 whp. • @nsxmatt
      @nsxmatt 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Coolest Courier No. In the 20 years I’ve been building cars, I’ve never had or seen a healthy bottom end push so much oil it causes a misfire. I’ve seen many other things cause it but not having a catch can is not the reason.

    • @StrictlyLTG
      @StrictlyLTG 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nsxmatt + All we do is 4 cylinder turbos. The issue was the pcv/ccv line that runs to the intake. If you watch my last video How to Remove the Intake Manifold,you can skip to the end and see for yourself. Lots oil built up around the intake manifold gasket. When I removed the head there is clear evidence an absurd amount of oil has been introduced to each cylinder. You can Google GDI turbo engine issues. There are serious studies and research done that shows oil making its way into the cylinders. Modern GDI turbos suck oil into the intake manifold wich leads to various types of internal issues.
      The mass produced GDI turbo four cylinder engine is fairly new to C & D segment vehicles.
      Now I'm not saying a stock engine 4GDIT with a stock PCM will have issues. The problem is tunes available for 350$, sold without any long-term data on how it affects the engine.
      If everything I just wrote is not sufficient, we will be uploading a video of the oil in this vehicles cylinders. TCC has only put 3000 miles on the new engine. There is already oil in the intake. You can literally see where the oil is coming from when you remove the intake. Anything over factory boost will suck oil through the valve cover vents.
