  • I finally was able to spend some quality time in a V6 6th Gen Camaro. I knew I was used to the thrust and torque that my Camaro and the SS provide so I wasn't sure what I was going to think of this motor. I'm glad to say that I was very pleasantly surprised and can easily understand why the V6 sells so well. Smooth and linear power is what this engine is all about.

    I bought a 2015 v6 RS LS a year and a half ago. I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!! I have a enough power to maneuver when I need to and enough power to zip if needed. I really have fun driving it. Sometimes when I’m out and about, I don’t want to go home because I’m having fun.

    Dunno know why, but the V6 sounds really good. Would love the V8, but for cost reasons and daily commute the V6 isn't a bad choice.

      I didn't like the camaro, and got a challenger but let me tell you v6 challengers are great, better transmission and the driveshafts down snap.
      Mustangs are even a better option

      Pils - you are delusional. The rt is about even with the v6 6th gen and handles like a boat by comparison. 6 vs 6 isnt even close.
      A challenger rt is far better for upgrades than a camaro v6 but its an inferior platform you you arent looking for more room and comfort.

    i wish camaro gets rid of the v6 and replace it with the 5.3 v8 as the second engine with about 398 hp. so no more v6 jokes. step up the 2.0 to 2.5t with 320 hp and 340 pnds of torque so like that every camaro would be fast.

    I have a V6, It doesn't pull as hard as the 2.0 because of the torque but after the 1/4 mile it's a Rocket because it has more HP. The 2.0 turbo it's easier to modify but the V6 will last longer and has more potential. With that said. Good video m8.

  • @nickbuchanan9220
    @nickbuchanan9220 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Test drove both, chose the v6 because of the handling right where I want it, v6 will have more power when putting on modifications, the 2.0 will hit its limit faster than the 6 and the 6 has better reliability which I need because I'm still in high school going to collage. I don't need my piston melting inside my cylinder.

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nick Buchanan the V6 is a good choice if you plan to keep it stock, but keep in mind that you can't add significant power to the V6 for less than $8,000, that was my gripe with the V6 is that it's very expensive to modify

    • @pilsplease7561
      @pilsplease7561 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This V6 / RS sounds GREAT for a V6 Camaro! I Love my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro RS! Even under tunnels I will throttle it once in a while with the windows down 😂 just to hear how good it sounds FOR A V6! I test drove the SS / V8....... OH. MY. GOODNESS. I Am getting a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS! With all the features I want. Test driving that car was PURE MOTIVATION! That V8 ROARS like a Lion. Maaan what an experience going from the V6 to the V8!

  • @mat1775
    @mat1775 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I have a 2016 2.0t and the v6 are only just barely faster after at about 80 mph. Raced my frieneds 2017 v6 and he pulled half a car length on me after 100 mph at most. I added a cold air intake with no tune adding extra 15 hp and torque that was enough to edge him out from 0-60 and we were prettey much even at high speeds after 100 mph. From factory both the 2.0t and v6 are neck and neck at about until 80 mph plus where the v6 only pulls about half a car length. The reason their so close is cause the 2.0t is a bit lower on weight and has more pound ft torque than the V6. The V6 only has about 60 more HP which helps it at high speeds not to mention it weighs an extra 150-200 pounds. I dont regret getting the 2.0 as the v6 is really just a 2.0t that sounds better and pulls slighly harder after 80 mph stock for stock. I feel that the 2.0 is the bargain here it has way more potential when you tune it, and you get a bit more gas mileage which is important for me cause I drive long instances everyday. Only dropping in 300 bucks for a cai with that im just as fast at high speeds with the v6 and slightly edge out a v6 from 0-60. At the end of the day for the price and the potential you get out of the 2.0, in my eyes the 2.0 is the winner every time. At the time I couldnt afford a new SS but if I could back then and wanted a more powerful car than I would of just bought an SS, wouldn't of looked at the v6 twice over the 2.0t.

  • @ccol009

    I think the RS / V6 (and the 4 cylinder I guess) is the perfect daily driver out of all the Camaro’s. You get a great sounding engine, good gas mileage, and enough power for everyday driving and / or to get you out of trouble on the road (V6 335hp with about 280 ft lbs torque) you get those cool double bar 5 spoke rims, the cool little wing / air spoiler. And in the owner’s manual they RECOMMEND 87 octane fuel OR HIGHER. So that means if you want to spend the extra money to run premium fuel in your car YOU CAN (which is what I do) and IF you want to save money on gas you can use up all the rest of the premium fuel in your gas tank and fill it up with 87-88 octane fuel AND SAVE MONEY FROM SPENDING THE EXTRA MONEY ON PREMIUM (which is what I do). I actually just did it with my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro RS! I wanted to save some money on gas, so I finished using up the premium fuel in the gas tank, and then I went down to 87-88 octane fuel and spent less money to fill up AND SAVED MONEY ON GAS BY DOING THAT. I like to use premium fuel when I can, it’s better for the engine, but when I need to save money on gas I use up the premium gas left in the tank and fill her up with 87-88 octane fuel. The 3.6L V6 is SO COOL because YOU GET THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS in terms of fuel. A Great Daily Driver car!

If you're not doing the work yourself putting the forged rods and pistons in could cost around $8,000, I know they will put custom camshafts in there for $3,000 extra. After that put it on E85 and swap the turbo and you're ready to run an easy 700 horsepower lol.

    So which one can you make faster , the v6 or 4 cylinder

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the 4 cylinder can be quick like this for only a $500 tune. But by doing that you make this engine's terrible reliability even worse. to make the V6 fast u would need a supercharger which is a ridiculous idea because for that money you could buy an SS and keep your warranty. which you desperately need on modern cars nowadays

    • @KingDre97
      @KingDre97 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jimmy Brooks okay that makes sense , Think imma just wait it out and save for the SS!

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KingDre97 thats an option. but before you do, you should absolutely test drive a C5 Corvette. they are the same fun but for about $9000. and if you want a little more than that a C5 Z06 is around 12k

  • @zackfailla7425
    @zackfailla7425 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hey great vid but quick question, when you had your 2.0t stock, what feels faster, the v6 or the stock 2.0?Because I know the 4 cylinder has more torque but less hp. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Zack Failla I can't say for sure because I didn't learn how to accelerate perfectly until well after I had it tuned. This is my first manual car. If you plan to keep the car stock the V6 is smoother, more linear, and is a more exciting feeling of acceleration because it screams all the way to its 7000 RPM Redline. If you tune the 2.0 then of course that acceleration is more exciting, but if you can get yourself into an SS that car is brutal and amazing, used ones are going for around 30k nowadays

    • @gagnzalez
      @gagnzalez 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Coolest Courier Now, what does the 2.0 have that the V6 doesn’t have?

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Double G you can spec out those cars the exact same way if you want to. The only difference is the engine. The 2.0 Turbo is cheaper to modify and it is 150 pounds lighter.

    • @gagnzalez
      @gagnzalez 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Coolest Courier Ik I have one too brother, 2018 but I’ve been studying these cars ever since the 6th gen came out. I just wanted you to say something awesome about our 2.0! Lol

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Double G haha for sure man. I think it's one of the most misunderstood modern cars, people look at it as the bad version of the Camaro but in reality it's that old Japanese sports car formula, rear wheel drive, turbo motor, lightweight, great handling. The 2.0 is honestly for people who love hot hatches but don't like torque steer and wheel spin.

  • @tylersobieck5409

    As much as I feel like Chevy shows off the v6 more, that 2.0 is the real show winner.

      Tyler Sobieck That is true. If this channel continues to grow it will be good proof that people are interested in the 2.0.

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      modfoxv10 the 2.0 is 3300 lb, the LT1 is 3700 lb, and the ZL1 is 3900 lb. the 600-pound Gap I'm referring to is the difference between my car and the ZL1. Look up the curb weights man

    • @modfoxv10
      @modfoxv10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Coolest Courier the weight comes from more than just the engine. My SS weighs 3580lbs. ZL1 weighs 3880. And the engine sits behind the front wheels

      Austin Connell Good. I'm glad it does. I bet it would make you cringe if I told you that once the new cams are in that it could be faster than an SS. Check out my other videos, I'm guessing you don't know that my 2.0 is hand built with forged internals.

    • @PeopleareIdiots24-7
      @PeopleareIdiots24-7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Coolest Courier yep, actually watched most of ur videos....my point being....a camaro is suppost to be a muscle car, there used to be pride in driving around sporting that bowtie have an American throaty V8 under the hood, it was a MAN'S car....nowadays, with all the "turbo" subarus, and Hondas, etc etc...having an American V8 camaro was something to be prideful about. The fact that u weren't on their level to have some trashed out barely 150ci engine with a "Huge turbo bro" just to get half the horsepower that the camaro or corvette, or heck...even a mustang made from a N/A engine...AND sounded better, and not like somebody grinding their nails down a chalkboard the way the new 4cly camaros sound😷 but now...GM has stooped down to their level and all the BOYS get it bc it has a "Nasty Turbo"...it makes the guys that used to take pride in their American, loud, chick magnet Camaros sick to their stomach...to see such a great car transformed into some pathetic 4cly wannabe tuners car...when it was designed to be a MAN'S muscle car..theres absolutely NOTHING muscle about a 4cly camaro...i don't care if it's pushing 700 horses...its still a 4cly....guys like u think it's some sorta "bragging rights" to dumb money into a 4cly just to beat a stock V8? Like? That's so much wasted money to throw into a 2.0L TURBO little boys👶 engine? And at the end of the day...no matter how many "V8 guys" u may beat....they still have a 376ci MANS engine

    • @TheCoolestCourier
      @TheCoolestCourier  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Austin Connell if you're married I feel so bad for your wife, and if you're not well that makes a lot of sense. The ignorance of that comment is absolutely unparalleled. Congratulations
      First of all cars don't get women. The Man Behind the car does. If you're going to go off on me about manly shit I sure hope you lift, real men are strong so they can protect people and there's no better way to get stronger than lifting weights. You should put up some videos of you lifting more than I do instead of sitting on your ass watching Catfish Cooley all day.
      Now on to this car debate. I'm sorry if my car offends the perception of your beloved Chevrolet bowtie. When I bought this car I was thinking outside of the box. I'm not looking at it for its history and emblem, this car has the classic japanese sports car formula that I've always loved. Rear wheel drive, turbo motor, lightweight. This car is perfect for people who love hot hatches but don't like torque steer and wheel spin. Until the new Supra comes out, as weird as it is, the only affordable turbo sports cars on the market right now is the EcoBoost Mustang and the 2 liter Camaro.
      I like all different types of cars. In my opinion this was the most bang for your buck performance for less than 30k. As this channel grows and my budget allows for it I plan on my next car being a Shelby GT350R. Is that V8 enough for you? That Shelby sounds better than any Camaro or muscle car could ever hope to be.
      As for now I love the unique build we're doing with this 2.0 Turbo Camaro. This is a sponsored project so this has been extremely cost-effective for me actually. I'm not the dump money into a project car kind of guy, if I wasn't going to partner with companies to do this build I would have just gotten an SS 1LE and called it a day. But! The 2.0 drives incredible. I will always be a driving enthusiast first and a car Enthusiast second. If the car puts a smile on my face from it's character and performance then I usually love it. I don't care what the badge says.
      Don't get too upset about what people do with their cars man. Life isn't about one single thing. I also love music and Fitness. I play drums in a band with the guitarist of Dayshell. All these passions make me very happy in life. Maybe you need to find some more things to make you happy so you don't feel the need to spread negativity in a small channels comment section.
      Either way, if you have a Camaro SS. I hope you're happy with it, it's a bad ass car. But it's not the only bad ass car.

      Oh well get over it. If you have a problem with these cars why dont you go to ford and chevy and tell them to stop producing them. these 4cyl turbos are going to replace the na v6 as the base model in the future. You can get more power and better gas mileage out of a turbocharged 4 banger than a naturally aspirated v6. Ford already killed of the v6 mustang with their 4cyl whci by the way is faster and more powerful than their v6 ever was not to mention better gas mileage. If you want to buy the base mustang you have no choice but to buy the 4 banger. Chevrolet isnt very far from doing this aswell. Wouldnt be surprised if they killed the v6 off for the 2019 refresh or the next gen camaro in the next 4 years.
