I mean no disrespect to the video's author, but the problem is him, not you. If the man's gonna commit to using purple prose, the least he can do is use words correctly. I mean, he uses "non-euclidean" at around 13:05 to describe the absence of typical flora or fauna, despite that having nothing to do with the term. Non-euclidean geometry is just geometry on a curved surface. He knew it was a word associated with Lovecraft's work and just went for it. And this is an issue with the whole video (or at least the first half hour or so; it was annoying me too much), like when he used the word cyclopean to mean big rather than monocular to describe a twisting tower of books. If he wanted a big word to describe it, he could've used brobdingnagian for its size or anfractuous for its winding shape. Without all the forced alliteration and frustratingly misused vocabulary, the video could have easily been half the length if the amount I watched was anything to go by. Maybe the misuse is the point, meant to show him going mad from dwelling within Apocrypha for too long, but it just came off as ignorant. Last I watched his stuff was a couple years ago. I don't remember this channel's videos suffering from this kind of quality control. Hopefully this is just a fluke.
It's a shame you never found any books from "The Poison Song" series. Authored by Bristin Xel - it is an epic saga set in the aftermath of the war between the Dwemer and House Dagoth. Though these books are a tale for the ages, they are actually a wildly inaccurate historical representation of the true events.
@@RosellenBlake Are you sure Camel mentioned "The Poison Song" written by Bristen Xel, an epic, though inaccurate description set in the aftermath of the war between the Dwemer and House Dagoth?
Perhaps the reason there are so many volumes of the Poison song within Apocrypha is because it is actually true and historically accurate and is therefore a secret worth keeping by the Lord of secret
I typically ignore youtuber's when they give the whole "help me with the algorithm by liking and commenting" bit, but I know how long you've been working on this and it should be promoted so you're rewarded for it. Your content is definitely worth it even though I haven't played Skyrim in years; I wouldn't be subscribed otherwise.
I feel the same way. This video however received an instant like and comment and a share. This is one of the most impressive videos I've seen in a while
I wanted Elder Scrolls VI to be set in the land of the Akaviri, but that apparently will not happen. Would have worked nicely, what with VI being right there in Akaviri and all. The amount of ephemeral lore that would have to be solidified, the new races that would have to be fleshed out, the flora and fauna that would be generated, different terrain and building designs…I would love to have seen it, but that must have been too daunting a task when a redguard game could have been so much easier.
All of those of you who die dreaming of the Elder Scrolls 6 will give birth to the godheads dream that allows it to happen. And none of those of us left will care.
I give my gratitude for this glorious guide, missing it means I might have mistakenly misplaced or even missed a copy of “The Poison Song” authored by Bristin Xel, a historically inaccurate epic saga set in the aftermath of the war with the Dwemer and House Dagoth!
Ah, man. Now I want the transcript so I can get the headwords (unique words) count. The average person knows roughly ~25000 words. The average words per minute when speaking is 150 for English. So Camel's script for this is roughly 52000 words. I'm betting he hit a HUGE percentage of the average vocab.
@@pyrotheevilplatypus how would it even be possible to calculate how many words the "average person" knows... If only you were capable of understanding how ridiculous that statement is.
Camel is a master of alliteration and an overall incredible writer and orator, I can only imagine the amount of time and energy put into researching, writing, and recording everything for this video. It’s truly fantastic work
It makes me grate my teeth honestly. Like he just googled synonyms of the word he wanted to use. Word play is nice in moderation, but this is just... rough.
@@Zargabaath Absolutely agree. He tried way too hard to be poetic. Alliteration in every sentence is not poetic. Didnt even make sense every time he did it. Shouldnt be using words he doesnt know. Saddest part is, everyone thinks he a damn genius for this nonsense.
@@thevoicestoldmetoagain4627 You don't understand. Camel DELIBERATELY used nonsense and a maddening degree of alliteration to convey the fact THERE IS NO UNDERSTANDING APOCRYPHA and the description of the place is meant to be heard as coming from someone who lost their mind there.
I have trouble sleeping due to chronic pain and anxiety and your CCC series (especially this video) is pretty much the only thing that consistently gets my brain to shut up and listen until it lets me fall asleep. You put a lot of effort into your videos and it shows. I can pay attention for a few hours or simply let the alliteration and the flow lull me to sleep just as easily. It's really something I haven't gotten anywhere else, and I really appreciate it.
The usage of unusual words that take a long time to learn, and sound maddening when listened to, is a good touch. It fits rather well with the theme of knowledge driving one insane, as Apocrypha is known for.
He does it in all the Curating Curiosities. It kinda throws me off, especially when the adjectives don't fit haha Like, can you have a Pugnacious Post?
Thank you for making this video, Apocrypha gives me anxiety and I just run through it without exploring until I'm done as quickly as possible so this was really nice seeing the details and loot i could've gotten haha
Lol here I thought I was the only one. Something about it just feels claustrophobic yet endlessly vast at the same time. It’s so easy to get lost and turned around in there and with the seekers chasing after you it makes it even more nerve wracking
It took me five days of watching us to complete it. I am happy to say it's finally done and of course my favorite joke was the Poison song volumes 1 through 7
The alliteration is strong with this man. I just used this video to get me through the majority of my work day, I lost track of most things but my ear heard most of the alliteration. Absolutely nutty
I really appreciate these huge investigative videos like the Detective series. It's obvious how much work goes into them and I wish the algorithm would show them more love.
How can we get camel to do a deep dive on all our favorite book series, a poison song, an epic and historically inaccurate telling of the aftermath of the war between the dwemer and house dagoth, reading all the books to us and explaining the historical inaccuracies
he’s even starting to deliver his lines like Hermaeous Mora… great work Camel, we all know how hard you’ve been working on this! (after a much deserved break) I’d love to see more curiosities from other games, especially daedric realms like the Shivering Isles, Mankar’s Paradise in Oblivion, or even the Fields of Regret in TES Adventures: Redguard
This is amazing. He's like Mojo-jojo, only, he isn't evil and trying to conquer the world but he's helping to map out a musing understanding of the skyrim world.
What a complete madlad. You truly are ascending what it means to be an elder scrolls youtuber. Very, very few franchises have such dedicated fans such as camel. Comprehensive videos of this calibre seldom exist for video games.
I would've passed by any other video this long, but nearly 6 hours of your amazing Curating Curious Curiosities series? I will watch every second of it
Gods he's done it, the mad lads made a CCC longer than a fuckin movie. The amount of time, effort & love he puts into these is absolutely incredible. Truly an underrated gem 🧡
Loved every minute of minute, minuscule and momentous finds throughout six salubrious and salient hours of lore. I honestly don't know how you kept that up throughout the whole thing. Very enjoyable.
You have to be mad to live in Australia, our madness manifests in different ways, for Camel it manifests in salubrious and salient speech patterns, for me it's in other ways
This lore video is so amazingly written. I do love elder scrolls lore, but just the constant alliteration makes this “lore” essay a prose poem. This is easy going, comforting, compelling, yet it’s so complex. This is a menagerie of slight rhymes, lyrics, Herculean word choices, tongue twisters, and a spell binding tone. Fuck the deep depths of lore, just the writing and the magnificent prose should be praised for how much effort was put into its making. I’m a huge fan of long videos about video game moral essays, historians going into philosophical tangents, and the deep meaning in darker art. I love horror, and especially Lovecraftian horror. The most important thing in Lovecraft’s or Lovecraft’s constant imitations of people who inspired him, is his writing prose. I love his dream cycle and Dunsanian prose. He is fantastic and captivating and I would say Celephais is a much better tell than Herbert West Reanimator. So for you to focus on the realm of a bibliophilac eldritch god is most fitting for the style of a maddened yet poetic lovecraftian tale. There is not enough emotions to express how every single syllable is grasping yet graceful. It has a feeling of constant descending into madness yet it fills motionless. It grab your neurons with teasing allure. You sir are at the most pentacle part of your proper yet peculiar promenades in the promising yet blossoming masquerades. You are a fantastic storyteller Cammelworks! I am high btw
YOOO ITS HERE! Camel you are an absolute legend along legends. Ill see you in almost 6 hours. Holy sheet. This is even longer than the april foold video
Apocrypha is probably my all-time favorite realm. Every time I'm there, I never want to leave. I'm so excited I found this video, thank you for making this!!
If was forced to live in a Plane of Oblivion my 3 favorite are: Sanguine's Realms, Hircine's Realm, and Apocrypha. Additionally in Apocrypha if you are wearing Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking you can technically walk on that "Ocean" still hurts you but if you keep spamming healing/healing potions then is fine-ish. My choice of Black Book powers is: Companions Insight, Black Market, Seeker of Sorcery (When magic character), Dragonborn Flame, Mora's Boon, Secret of Protection. Those are always my choices except for Seeker of Sorcery which I only choose when heavily magic based character otherwise always choose Seeker of Might.
I know you’ve been working on this for a while, and while I probably won’t get it all in one sitting, I’m sure I’ll definitely watch it a couple of times! Thank you for bringing this to us camel.
So I'm an on the road trucker. I love listening to these during my drive. My husband will put it on not me of course. But longer videos like this one are always so nice because the quality and quantity of his content are just great
Love listening to your videos, especially when im going to sleep, rewatching this one for maybe the 4th time right now in prep for the ESO Necron Expansion in june
This man had the patience, perseverance, and the determination to complete this video, no matter how long or what cost. Even if the cost was his sanity with all of the black books. Mora is pleased by such thurst for knowledge. Great job Dragonborn.
This is simply awsome, the amount of work behind a video like this one is remarquable. Not only the 6 hours of content, but the writing, the editing, the time he spent filming in-game ! Incredible ! Thank you very much Camel for all the work you put in our passion, videos like those are what makes the difference between Skyrim and other games !
I feel like all us mad lads who watched every single second of this video deserve some extra special random levelled loot (if it doesn't include every volume of The Poison Song, Authored by Bristin Xel. A series consisting of seven volumes, a historically inaccurate epic saga set in the aftermath of the war between the Dwemer and house Dagoth. then if i'm honest with you... i don't want it).
But what about the Poison Song Volume 2, written by none other than Bristin Xel, an epic, and historically inaccurate description of the aftermath between the Dwemer and House Dagoth?
Great work Camel!! I never really enjoyed this area much in my playthroughs, and always just straight lined it thru to get it over with. I have to admit that I was a bit surprised to see that as huge as it is, there are literally no secrets here. Everything to see and do is within the straight line path through the areas. Very different that the Forgotten Vale, which was rich with discoveries. I applaud your commitment to see this whole thing through!!
Absolutely astounding work. The amount of time it must have taken just writing this script, not to mention the research that would have to go into a project like this, has to be staggering. Your videos never fail to impress, keep up the grand work.
Lol! I only wish I could have streamed this when I was working! My job was rather frustrating, an entertaining background video would definitely have made things better!
It’s finally here! I’m so stoked for this! I can’t sit all the way through one movie but stick one of these videos in front of me and I’m hooked haha ❤️
This is like a student trying to hit the word cap for an essay they need to turn in the next day, repeats of words and long words mostly un-needed. But still enjoyed listening to it lol

@@crispycrunch9971 First Camel video I take it?
I can only dream of the time when Elder Scrolls VI is released and we can listen to hundreds of hours of Camel teaching us about the new Lore ❤️
Alot of us will be dead before elder scrolls 6
@@nicholashernandez4611 How do you know it won't be? BGS haven't said where VI will be taking place.

I would imagine that Akaviri is out for the reasons I stated.
All of those of you who die dreaming of the Elder Scrolls 6 will give birth to the godheads dream that allows it to happen.
And none of those of us left will care.
6 hours? I’ll have to BOOK in some time off to watch this Camel, good god.

Is that how Camel got all these shots? I've not idea how he's able to get all the angles and shots he gets for his videos!

Sadly its to exhausting to Play for me, i went Back to the Normal Version.
Its still cool to Play it sometimes.
I’m about to do this!!
I give my gratitude for this glorious guide, missing it means I might have mistakenly misplaced or even missed a copy of “The Poison Song” authored by Bristin Xel, a historically inaccurate epic saga set in the aftermath of the war with the Dwemer and House Dagoth!
This video could be used to teach someone the entire English language.
Ah, man. Now I want the transcript so I can get the headwords (unique words) count. The average person knows roughly ~25000 words. The average words per minute when speaking is 150 for English. So Camel's script for this is roughly 52000 words. I'm betting he hit a HUGE percentage of the average vocab.
@@pyrotheevilplatypus that's actually a really fun idea. I would watch a video of Camel just showing us his script.
I’ve used many of his videos for inspiration for English assignments. Haha
@@pyrotheevilplatypus how would it even be possible to calculate how many words the "average person" knows... If only you were capable of understanding how ridiculous that statement is.

It tells of the epic and historically inaccurate saga set in the aftermath of the war of the Dwemer and House Dagoth.

@@thevoicestoldmetoagain4627
You don't understand. Camel DELIBERATELY used nonsense and a maddening degree of alliteration to convey the fact THERE IS NO UNDERSTANDING APOCRYPHA and the description of the place is meant to be heard as coming from someone who lost their mind there.
TLDR: this is 6 hours of Camel’s alliteration with Skyrim in the background, all seriousness though, great video! Appreciate the hard work
This magnum opus will be a grand addition to Apocrypha.
"This will make a fine addition to my collection"

You know it's gonna be a long video when they say "our journey begins..." almost 27 minutes in
The Poison Song is what really drives people trapped in Apocrypha to madness isn't it?
And I thought the augur of dunlain video was a long watch… This will be fun
Right!
@@butHomeisNowhere___ True, but in this case, it's a good fit for the area. Also, how many people now hate the name Bristin Xel?

I really appreciate these huge investigative videos like the Detective series. It's obvious how much work goes into them and I wish the algorithm would show them more love.
How can we get camel to do a deep dive on all our favorite book series, a poison song, an epic and historically inaccurate telling of the aftermath of the war between the dwemer and house dagoth, reading all the books to us and explaining the historical inaccuracies

Never heard the word "Octopusian" used before but honestly I like it
24 minutes in: This alliteration is kind of insane.
Looks at length: WHAT THE FUCK?
Good work.

Apocrypha is probably my all-time favorite realm. Every time I'm there, I never want to leave. I'm so excited I found this video, thank you for making this!!
Ahh yes another seeker
Those alliterations at 24:23 man, that's cool. Keep doing such great work!
