*Sotha Sil* _"You wonder where the Dwemer have gone? Perhaps better to wonder why one remains. Even gods dislike the absolute, for it stinks of something larger than themselves."_
Likely the gods themselves sought to convolute the absolution of Numidium. Who knows if Yagrum would have pushed Numidium's capabilities just one infinite step too far.
Oh I think I understand what sota means now. To chim his whole race away Kagrenac needed to zero-sum perfectly. The gods don't like absolutes so the Divine intervention was yeeting a single dwarf away. Now kagrenac's equation no longer zero-sums
No one: Drewmora: Missing in action for over two months, suddenly releases an amazing almost three hours long very throuough exposition on the Dwemer, refuses to elaborate, and leaves (presumably, back with the Dwemer).
Two Things: Thing 1) Does anyone else find it weird that when Nerevar told Dumac to "give up your worship of the Heart of Lorkhan" Dumac claimed that worshiping the Heart was a tradition of his people dispite the fact Dumac supposedly had no idea that Kagrenac had found it? Did the Dwemer worship Lorkhan? And if so, have the other Elven races(primarily the Dunmer/Chimer) covered that up? Thing 2) Can we please have the next of Vivvek's sermons?
It seems reasonable that they could held some amount of reverence for Lorkhan's heart (the doom-drum providing the ultimate background for all tonal magicks), and could even have been searching for the heart.
It’s also possible that Dumac was simply pissed that as he saw it, Nerevar was attempting to get the Dwemer to worship the Chimer’s gods. He heard Nerevar say give up your ways and so he refused in anger
Isn't the special armour of the dwarves like frequency or vibrationally atuned well attuned to what perhaps lorkhans heart which is why they where able to move the earth aka lorkhans dominion and ofc i believe they found the heart via vibrations
I don't think it was "worship" in the way the other races view it. More like a "reverence" of the Heart's power and the abilities it granted them via its blood (the lava) for their creations.
Dumac would have had no reason to refer to the "Worship of the Heart of Lorkhan" as something his people had done for "generations", since the Heart was only recently discovered and its discovery was kept secret from him by Kagrenac.
Look up Terrance Mckenna's writings on "Machine/Clockwork Elves". Kirkbride and Kulhman are both fans of Mckenna's and the dwemer are partially inspired by these "clockwork elves" that apparently exist and communicate to us through incoherent tones and music (tonal architecture) when we take psychedelics. Which psychedelics? Mckenna's favorite. The psilocybin mushroom. Now look up Mckenna's concept of the "heroic dose". Where one takes a very high dosage in complete darkness. Mckenna said the sensory deprivation allows the mushrooms to "unbind" your ego from the material and allow you to transcend and discover the nature of reality. Now read Calcelmo's stone again. You now know what the Dwemer were trying to do with the falmer. It was an attempt to somehow unbind them from the earthbones through blindness and possibly other experiments.
Great comment! That "unbind from the earthbones" gave me the same idea about what kind of experiments the Dwemer did to them, but that connection to the mushrooms and the "heroic dose" is amazing. Perhaps this explains the current nature of the Falmer, some aspect of their consciousness or soul was unbound through mushrooms and/or tonal magic, while the husks remain to lurk in the caverns.

The Dunmer and Dwemer really seem to be set up as opposite another superficially but the same under the surface, truly being 2 sides of the same coin, so if the dunmer made armour out of the bodies of mortals, it would stand to reason, their opposite halves would make armour infused with souls.
I was looking for Elder Scrolls lore books not long ago. They are somewhat limited and not comprehensive. You have an amazing talent and real love for this material. There is no question you should be hired to write the Elder Scrolls Almanac

There is a guy called AllinAll and he basically made his own anime plot line of Elder Scrolls based on Coda. That is what I desperately want an Elder Scrolls game about. Basically it would work like this: You play as a character probably in the summerset isles, you get involved into spying on the Thalmor and uncovering their plans. Through out the main quest you slowly uncover that the Thalmor are reconstructing akulakahn/dwemer god, they then will use that to create a new bigger god out of the crystal tower and use it to destroy Nirn. Throughout the game you try and stop them. Towards the end of the game though you fail.... Their plan goes through and they do destroy Nirn and you just sit and watch thinking the game ends with you losing. TWIST engages though and everyone flees though to the moon and there is a brief section of the game where you are on the moon like in Coda. Probably using some magic fckery or Elder Scroll fckery to turn back time and undo everything the Thalmor did and stop them.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been enjoying it for a week through actively listening and learning from it, and using it to fall asleep at night. Your channel is one of the best! Thank you so much for your videos and the sleep you’ve helped me obtain. I’ll be sad when you can’t make videos anymore, or when you decide to stop. I hope you get all the support you want and need. I’ve been in love with your channel for about a year now. Always looking forward to the next video. Edit: This video was definitely worth the wait!
I’m amazed by the quality of your long form content. I loved fudgemuppet lore but it always felt to short and contained. You’ve mastered the formula obviously
Im wondering, if boethiah and her fellow good daedra claim that the mundus was a test for mortals to become makers (gods?), wouldn't that mean the dwemer, who found a way to be gods through there "wit" actually accomplished what they wanted mortals to do. And if so wouldn't that make what azura did kinda contradict the good daedra's whole goal?
It's an interesting point, maybe the good daedra thought the Dwemer where "doing it wrong". The Chimer idea of the ascension isn't simply mortals becoming gods, returning to the Aurbis, but going beyond, to achieve the same enlightenment as Lorkhan did when he stepped outside and saw the Tower. Therefore, they view the Mundus as a puzzle-box, that by opening they can learn true enlightenment. Maybe they viewed the Dwemers approach as taking to that puzzle-box with hammer and saw, ignoring the puzzles and destroying it entirely. Maybe. (And if they did have this view, maybe they where wrong, as Vivec apparently achieved Chim, a form of this enlightenment, through Kagrenacs tools and the Heart, plus the Dwemer potentialy zero-summing from the same thing. But then what of Numidium?)
I just want to say thank you Drew. For a couple months recently I was really struggling with my mental health, I was at a pretty low point, but every single night I'd take a long bath and put one of your videos on and just be transported to another world for awhile. For at least an hour a night I could forget about my issues. I finished watching all of your videos in no time flat. I'm doing better now, but I'm excited to see more.
Wonderful narration, I love to listen these while journeying across Skyrim or other modded lands and take in the sights while the narration goes, no combat, just listening and walking, it's definitely therapeutic, we can only hope Bethesda can bring their best for the next game's writing, considering Starfield well...only time will tell. Keep up the amazing work Drew, your voice is the narration of the entire Elder Scrolls in my head cannon.
1:26:22 - “King Du-Malacath the *Dwarc-Orf*” 😂 I’ve rewatched this video like 6 times since it came out and this was the first time I caught that. Fantastic video!
Post starfield it’s almost bittersweet to see these videos. It’s so clear that company is not what it once was, but what they once created is so priceless.
Thank you, Drewmora for another bit of brilliance. This one wondered if you would ever think of uploading the audio tracks as a pseudo-podcast? It would love to be able to listen to your videos whilst driving, hiking etc.
Maaaaaaan you have NO idea how much I needed this to help negate my growing listless desire to partake in any TES gameplay recently. Like a little time after the Halloween event in ESO, my interest began a sharp and steep taper down with the repetitious monotony of the holiday seasonal events. But like finding an animated video depicting the initial reaction to the first release of Skyrim that's told through the melodic parody of the iconic music of is start screen, your video has given me an energizing of what we all love so much from this series . 😁 I can't be grateful enough for all the work you put in to entertain us.
My favorite topic from the Elder Scrolls from my favorite Daedraologist! Not only that but we've received a behemoth of a video too! What a fantastic start to the new year!
I was legit scared that he would stop uploading or smth like that and then i see a over 2 hour video about my favorite Elder Scrolls race! Love your content u are by far my favorite lore channel. Keep it up and thanks for your work!
Absolute mad lad. I love this franchise and it's lore so much, it's a damn shame I have no faith in another good entry ever being added to it. So be it, I could listen to retellings of the lore endlessly.
Absolutely fantastic video Drew, top job. During my current playthrough of Skyrim AE, on a couple of occasions I have seen the ghostly Headless Horseman running like hell after his horse! Lol. Best regards Gary.
And so Dremora inquires upon the magnificence of an ancient, Aldmeri race. Always a pleasure Drew, keep up the solid content man, doing great. Also, for anyone interested; - My theory on the Dwemer appearance on Tamriel was that they, like the Ancient Falmer, were two branches of Aldmer who had evolved into their perspective environments. The Group of Aldmer who lived in Altmora; The Elderwood who managed to be on the Tamrielic side of the sundering of the Continent. It is said that Lorkhan (and as we know, Kyne and her Nords) "shattered that land into many. Auriel could not save Altmora, the Elderwood, and it was lost to men. They chased south and east into Old Ehlnofey" So, my idea is that Skyrim is the last, disconnected part of Altmora, the Elven Kingdom in the Dawn Era that was lost to Lorkhan and his Wandering Ehlnofey armies. It's why the Snow Elves say that Skyrim was their home, but the Nords claim that it's theirs cause they were born on the Throat of the World. It makes a lot of sense that it was all one kingdom/region before the Supercontinent was broken apart, and Auriel could only manage to keep the "Skyrim part" from drifting away. Kyne basically spawned the Nords right in the middle of an Elven Kingdom to help the Wandering Ehlnofey armies take those Aldmer lands. Lorkhan wanted to keep this victory and so wanted to split Old Ehlnofey and Altmora from one another, with Skyrim being the only part that was saved. Over time, the few Aldmer left on Altmora (now Atmora) were slain by the Nords and Nedes up there, and the opposite probably happened in Skyrim till the Aldmer and Humans came to an impass. (Which is why Nedes lived in Southern Skyrim and at peace with the Snow Elves, cause as far as the Elves were concerned, the war was over once the Et'Ada were done slaying each other.) The Aldmer in Skyrim then either chose to keep up the Aldmeri way, and live on the surface and utilize the light of Aetherius and the Aedra to guide their lives, whereas the other Aldmer kinda just stuck to "the Old Ways" like the Psyjic Order, who don't venerate the Et'Ada as "Gods", just "particularly special spirits". Which is in line with how the Dwemer eventually became known to be a race who didn't worship the Gods like most everyone else nowadays. This is why they never went to war with one another, they still respected one another as Elves from the same stock to NOT want too wage war... till the Dwemer became more and more distant and cold to all others but themselves and even to just being close to their own city-states. Whereas the Snow Elves tolerated Humans and let them live freely as long as they didn't do anything stupid. Unfortunately, this dichotomy of reasonable, trustworthy Snow Elves and the Uncaring/Distant Dwemer eventually led to the Snow Elves allowing Saarthal to be built, and later on making a deal of survival with the Dwemer. Neither ended well for the Ancient Falmer of Skyrim.
Thanks. Your videos are wonderful. Myth and fantasy lore are my favorite subjects. Elder Scrolls is one of the best. Your oration and passion for this world is unrivaled in providing atmosphere and education in the subjects you delve into.
I have been playing Morrowind for two decades and only today learned how sick the line "I am not of the slaves that perish" is. This game is so damn good.

Perhaps this explains the current nature of the Falmer, some aspect of their consciousness or soul was unbound through mushrooms and/or tonal magic, while the husks remain to lurk in the caverns.
Perhaps the Falmer were a failed experiment. They tried to see if transcendence could be reached alchemically and tested it out on the Snow Elves.
One minor correction; the machine elves are met in the DMT trance, not the mushroom trance

this video was amazing! you're writing is also an inspiration, the way you word and discuss the things in these videos inspires me to continue writing
These longer videos help me fall asleep. I love the narration, voice and the music
A viewer is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Great video as always Drew❤
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been enjoying it for a week through actively listening and learning from it, and using it to fall asleep at night. Your channel is one of the best! Thank you so much for your videos and the sleep you’ve helped me obtain. I’ll be sad when you can’t make videos anymore, or when you decide to stop. I hope you get all the support you want and need. I’ve been in love with your channel for about a year now. Always looking forward to the next video.
Edit: This video was definitely worth the wait!
Genuinely some of the highest quality video essays on all of TH-cam. Brilliant as always.
Drew, your videos are amazing! Keep at it, your fans are patient and we are always willing to consume a new video that you produce!!
1:26:22 - “King Du-Malacath the *Dwarc-Orf*” 😂
I’ve rewatched this video like 6 times since it came out and this was the first time I caught that. Fantastic video!
Really good video that included a lot of information. Maybe bordering into other territories a bit but thanks for the good work, drew
Yesss, 2hs+ of Drewmorrowinding! Gods be praised
Thank you drew. The quality is immaculate. I can’t express how happy this makes me. ❤
Bro is mantling Kirkbride.
This and the complete guide to Morrowind videos are incredibly well done. Thank you hugely for the videos!
Thanks, Somebody! They were both colossal undertakings, so I'm glad you enjoy them. I appreciate the support!
My favorite topic from the Elder Scrolls from my favorite Daedraologist! Not only that but we've received a behemoth of a video too! What a fantastic start to the new year!
2.5 hrs on my favourite elder scrolls topic let’s fucking go Drew
I was legit scared that he would stop uploading or smth like that and then i see a over 2 hour video about my favorite Elder Scrolls race! Love your content u are by far my favorite lore channel. Keep it up and thanks for your work!
Love your work. Your writing style combined with the music and narration is so awesome.
Absolute mad lad. I love this franchise and it's lore so much, it's a damn shame I have no faith in another good entry ever being added to it. So be it, I could listen to retellings of the lore endlessly.
Happy to hear from you again Drew :^)
00:40 Godspeed You Black Emperor! reference? Hehe
Also, for anyone interested;
- My theory on the Dwemer appearance on Tamriel was that they, like the Ancient Falmer, were two branches of Aldmer who had evolved into their perspective environments.
They chased south and east into Old Ehlnofey"
So, my idea is that Skyrim is the last, disconnected part of Altmora, the Elven Kingdom in the Dawn Era that was lost to Lorkhan and his Wandering Ehlnofey armies.
(Which is why Nedes lived in Southern Skyrim and at peace with the Snow Elves, cause as far as the Elves were concerned, the war was over once the Et'Ada were done slaying each other.)
The Aldmer in Skyrim then either chose to keep up the Aldmeri way, and live on the surface and utilize the light of Aetherius and the Aedra to guide their lives, whereas the other Aldmer kinda just stuck to "the Old Ways" like the Psyjic Order, who don't venerate the Et'Ada as "Gods", just "particularly special spirits".
Happy new year Drew, I've been missing your videos, so happy a new one is out 😍
I'm going to listen to this everyday this year
I love your stuff so much. It is just so enveloping. like getting lost in the music and wilderness of Nirn....back when things were simpler.
TWO AND A HALF HOURS OF GLORIOUS DREWMORA LETS GOOOOOOOOO
Man I love your videos. I used to listen to hours of your content as I drove hundreds of miles while CDL driving. Nobody narrates like you 👍
Thank you for blessing us with a long video 🙏 best way to start the year.
I have been playing Morrowind for two decades and only today learned how sick the line "I am not of the slaves that perish" is. This game is so damn good.
I've never related so much to something like the personal speech about your view on how science took the magic of life from you I've never been able to put the right words to that feeling but you did it with such poise and it caught me off guard, truly beautiful
Wow Drew.
I somewhat expected that you will gift us a long video after being mia for quite some time
but this is a behemoth
This is an AMAZING lore dump my dude, thank you so much for the level of effort you put into researching and writing these beasts. With all this knew perspective on The Brass God, I'm noticing very strong parallels to Jyggalag. Thoughts?
