    Its pretty crazy how cheap 1440p monitors are getting. Monitors that were 450$ back in 2023, now are 300$ in 2024

      Here in Brazil it's still around pretty expensive, like the cheaper ones are like $400 dollars. And the cheaper ones in other countries, like these ones are like $600 dollars 😢

      I got one that was on sale and had a coupon on it from amazon for 165 cad including import fees and taxes. which in my province is 15%. So to say this is an insane deal is an understatement. Only downside is its only 100hz but that's good enough for what I want it for.

    Unfortunately there are some reports that Dell uses various panels from different manufacturersfor the G2724D which one is slightly worse than the one that was used in the first place.
    Some say the same about the XG27ACS but not sure.

    Some of the latest gen 27" OLEDs have been going for less than 600 euro already but I totally get excluding them since it's impossible to pick a single model, the prices are all over the place. I wouldn't be surprised if we see 27" 3rd gen QD-OLED or ASUS XG27AQDMG for 500-550e during Black Friday. At that point I'd definitely get it over a 350-400e high refresh rate LCD, it's on a completely different level.

    • @Davinmk
      @Davinmk 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Anything above 500 is not a budget monitor

    • @dfasdfgdsfdf588
      @dfasdfgdsfdf588 22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@Davinmk Yeah but the video is about best "value", not specifically about budget monitors. The point I wanted to make is that entry level OLEDs for 600$ might be "better value" than many of the 350-500$ LCDs. Of course you'll find the absolute best value in the 100-250$ range aka "budget" monitors.

    What is your opinion on going 24 inch instead of 27 inch for a budget 1440p mid refresh rate monitors? Have been contemplating buying AOC Q24G2A as my first monitor.

    • @ImDazzling
      @ImDazzling วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I'm considering this as well actually! I have been using a 24-inch 1080p 144Hz monitor until now with 92 PPI; going to the Q24G2A would bump the resolution to 1440p obviously + increase the PPI to 122, which should result in a very sharp, clear image! Got this idea 2 days ago by seeing a video "Only TWO monitors like this exist" that's also on this channel!

    Hey techless, very nice list as always. Apparently the KTC H24F8 is the "new" version of the H24T09P with a 180hz IPS panel and now they promote it as 1ms GTG. It is the same price and "better" specs on paper. Will you ever get to test it? Have a good one.

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks! I measured 84.1% (Dell) vs 89.8% (Acer) of P3 coverage. It's really not a huge difference, but if you work in the P3 color space the Acer is a slightly better pick.

    AOC released an IPS version of Q27G3XMN, called the Q27G4XM in the chineese market but it's not stated when or if it will be globally available. It's got more dimming zones at 1,152, better colors and wider gamut, viewing angles and faster response times. I hope it comes to the west in the coming months.

With 1920/1080 is ok but if for simming I have to reduce resolution is the loss of image quality so greath as they say or not? I know that native res is better of course ... Value begins with a met need and ends with overkill. If your system can run your favorite games at 4K ultra and reach 90FPS, a 1080p 60Hz monitor is poor value because it's a severe bottleneck; it doesn't meet your need. Conversely, if your system can only reach 70-80 FPS at 1080p in the games you play, a 1440p monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate is almost certainly poor value because you're paying for capability you cannot leverage.

    I'm going to buy my first 144hz monitor later this month. I'm seriously considering getting the LG Ultragear 24GS60F-B, I'll use it at 144hz because I know it has less ghosting. Unfortunately here in my country there is a lack of monitor options, it's either this or the AOC 24G2 or some white label that I don't know the manufacturer.

    1080 and 1440 could be the same price and I'd still get the 1080.

      exactly my thoughts, I wouldn't run games at 1440p anyways so a 1440p monitor would be worse than 1080p.

    Another alternative to the AOC with miniLED is the Xiaomi G27i Pro just got mine today and it's amazing coming from an 1440p TN panel before.
