@@phiphi2209 actually there's a lot of drama, it's just that they are not being very mean compared to USA. Some duos who "can't stand each other" seemed too unnatural like eric and kaila, sabrina and jennifer. Also julie being suddenly btchy in the later part of the show. Seems scripted

Idk I didn’t think Barrie was being a villain. This is a competition so him against his 2 friends is nothing personal to him. He put on his competition face if anything. His demeanor was calm and polite as well as what I call, dad-competitiveness.

The brutal winters in Canada itself may be the reason he hates it. Like in Australia, we’re known for being extremely hot in Summer but some people hate summer BECAUSE of the heat in AUStRALIA. No one hates summer in Alaska.

He didn't know that trevor was smart and can have a backup plan.

He was one of my favourites but that attitude at the pre final stage, really disappointed with that.

The producers told him to act that way. They wanted to send him home but realized he was too likable so he needed a kink in his armor. The fact that he thinks he has a hard time beating Thea says it all.

This feels so out of character for both Barry and Trevor. As a matter of fact it feels staged, as with most reality shows or competitions that are aired on television. Master chef and many other shows have a history of this. I still love both Barry and Trevor as well as their dynamic throughout the season, they both have the potential to do great things in the food industry.
Trevor was the most underrated MasterChef of all the seasons. I mean not only did he top in most of his dishes, he also won all the team challenges except one. He kinda flowed through it. But people kinda miss it and are mostly in awe of Beccy, David, Eric (all them equally competent no doubt)
Thea knows to cry her way into the Finale

She was just lucky because Barrie's dish was raw

Damn, I feel for Thea there. I've burnt my fingers on a 425 over rack but still had to finish cutting meat.
Trying to hold hot meat, position hot sides with a seriously burnt finger is about the worst thing ever.
Oof. I would never choose to go with Wagyu. The problem with it is that the meat is so good that you basically can't do much with it aside from just salt, pepper, a bit of garlic and onion powder maybe and just let the meat do its work on its own.
If you try to be too fancy with Wagyu you're going to end up ruining it and covering up what makes wagyu special.
