Checking other videos you need to keep the stem lose, toque the top cap so everything is compressed and then adjust the stem and lock it, but overall good explanation
So my Santa Cruz Bronson does the same thing and I thought it was just a me thing. I took it to get serviced and it was good for a week and came back. I’ve tried to isolate the click, so I removed the stem cap and cleaned and greased the stem cap bolt only. It seems to have solved the issue for now. I’ll update if anything changes. Thanks for validating this issue, makes me feel like I’m not losing my mind with that click click click….
@@thebigoutsidemtb it’s back! Looks like just greasing the the bolt alone didn’t help. Re greased everything myself so we’ll see if it works this time. Thanks again!
@@Sendersofmayhem I have same problem with same click! 😫 m.th-cam.com/users/shortsp265MGXJbu4 Have you fix it or not? If yes please help me I need help.🙏
Tibore.. mám stejný problém. Podařilo se ti to vyřešit? Jsem z toho zoufalý. Když hodně zatočím, tak mi to tam klepne. Už jsem měnil i ložiska, ale po pár jízdách se to zase objevilo.
When you re insert the fork, do you first torque the stem bolts? Or the top cap. I would think the stem bolts first. The top cap is just tight isn’t it? And the stem bolts are whatever torque required, mine are 8nm. Funny, I noticed this sound or a similar one on my 21 nomad
Yes I did torque the stem bolts and the headset to there torque spec. I tighten the headset just a little then torque the stem bolts then I go and torque the headset. Just before you tighten these make sure there isn't any play in the headset.
What headset do you have? And it still creaked even after greasing? This seems to only fix it for about 3 rides then comes back, Clean regressed, Gone for another 3 rides.
I have the same issue going up hills.only?? My 2022 Bronson makes little clicks. Did a full tear down on the drive train...omg 😱 was it this all along?
So this is definitely my issue but greasing doesn't help. Albeit, I noticed my metal circular shim is sitting between the headset and spacers. Is that where you have yours.
@@thebigoutsidemtb oh yea. Maybe it's misplaced on mine.. Regardless, other people have been having this issue and switched to the cane creek 110 top assembly for 30 bucks. They are currently sold out but just a FYI
Hope this solves it for you too. It’s sooo annoying. Tip, use more grease then I did in this video. For some reason the Cane Creek 40 headset creaks bad on these bikes and to solve it you use a lot of grease.
I bought a yt capra and when I turn the steering wheel left to right it makes that sound, so if I don't clean that part will something happen? Btw its new and second day I started to hear that fucking sound.

Yeah I know about that. I don't know why I did that in the video. Thanks for throwing that out there.

It seems to have fixed it and haven't had any issues since. Hope it works for you!
@@thebigoutsidemtb Sunday morning ride planned - I’ll find out then 👍
I’m going to try that. Click is driving me mad.
Same problem here, unfortunately greasing helps for 1 day in dusty bikepark, then I have to clean and re-grease it again.
Interesting, This was a permanent fix for me.

Are you talking about the compression ring? If so mine sits in-between the headset bearing on the top and the dust seal.

There is a good chance there is not enough grease in the headset. I would clean it and regrease it with more grease then what was originally in there.
Bro almost lost his forks 💀
