The pogos on my X0 transmission derailleur failed the same way after 75 miles. Luckily the shop swapped it out, but this is NOT just a GX thing.
Pogo pins has happened to me twice now. On my 3rd GX…. Damn shame!!!
I just brought a Yeti SB135 and it has XO Eagle transmission and was ok for first few test laps on green trails then it works every second 5 minutes and in fact a slight bump and it loses connection and stops for 5 minutes. At first impression a wee knock on the battery would obviously disturb the flimsy connection. Im going to replace it its kndov dumb.
Sounds like the pogo pins... Sad to be hearing it on X0 too. I should be getting a unit with my upcoming E-Bike. I will make an update if it happens to that one as well.

T-Type transmission overall awesome!!! Minus the Axs 😂 upgrading my fuel to X01 (mechanical)
Exactly my thoughts. Can't wait for the mechanical Transmission to come out!
Wow amazing 👊👊
👊👊🔥
Hell yeah. Merry Christmas dude🤘🤘
Thanks dude, Merry Christmas to you too!
That looked like wizard🧙
😉
Where is that?
Multiple places in the SF Bay Area.
I dont think is the water that causes this. My GX has a rubber square where the battery sit that prevents the water, is probably the low quality material of the spring.
I don't think the seal is very affective. I think water is still making it in and again with the GX T-Type its able to site rather then drain like the vertically mounted AXS.
@@thebigoutsidemtb if so then adding some amount of silicone grease when mounting the battery to seal the pins should be a good idea in order to prevent this
Sir, I'm inclined to think you have a last-gen action camera, such as a DJI OA4, OA5, or GoPro Hero 12 or 13. Your video however looks very blurry. You can try keeping the shutter speed above 1/200 s and increasing the export bit rate. Awesome trail video, however.
I think you mean the motion blur? That was on purpose as it shows more speed. I'm using a GoPro Hero 12 Black. So yes, a newer camera. Thanks man 🤙
@@thebigoutsidemtb With the Osmo, once your shutter speed is lower than 1/200 s AND you have stabilization enabled, you can see an undesirable ghosting effect, more than motion blur. The solution for that is increasing shutter speed to a minimum of 1/200 s, or disabling stabilization, the latter of which is not an option while mountain biking. The alternative would be adding motion blur in post to regain the effect you lose when increasing shutter speed.
Thanks for sharing your experience. The other day I saw a guy advertising his AXS pin repair service. Wondered if this is a common issue. Guess it is. I just bought a GX Eagle AXS 😮
Well if it's not T-Type then you should be for the most part okay. Seems to only be an issue on GX T-Type. Thanks for watching!
What bike are you riding?
Looks like a Santa Cruz heckler sl
Santa Cruz Bronson
Nope, not an E-Bike. Santa Cruz Bronson
You’re slipping because it’s too wet to ride… grab a shovel and start digging/repairing trails instead of making UC worse. You are most definitely a rincon lot legend.
Actually, the trails I was riding handle the wet like stuff you would find in Squamish. Roots that have any moisture are going to be slippery so you just have to ride everything in a different way as you don't have tractions in the same areas as if it was dry. Haha, that's cool to hear! I do get a lot of people recognize be in the lot 😅
@@thebigoutsidemtb Don't listen to him, the majority of riders know exactly what trails get damaged when ridden wet and they are on the majority all climbing or beginner/intermediate trails. Steep technical descents are fine to ride wet. They can easily be repaired if need be and it's generally just catchers that get damaged. If you can't handle wet roots and rocks then you should be inside gloomily staring out of the window with a cup of Bovril.
Was that this morning? We'll be out there tomorrow.
No, this was 2 weeks ago.
this is a mile from my house @thebigoutsidemtb
Nice!
It can also happen to the batteries in the shifters.
Have you had it happen? You are the first if you have.
@thebigoutsidemtb not me personally but a customer who was racing xc mtb and had to dnf because of it.
@@tomgrant6563 What failed? Did the contact spring just get some corrosion which caused the battery to not make a connection? I know for certain that corrosion isn't going to stop that spring from moving. If it is just corrosion on the spring, that is a very easy fix with a pick.
@@thebigoutsidemtb what failed? His gears! I'll have to ask him exactly what happened, it may have been due to incorrect installation of the cells. But the point is all the batteries and electronics are unnecessary complexity and weaknesses /failure points.
Hi. It's not only the GS transmission, my X0 derrailleur has the same problem. And I'm not the only one
Thanks for letting me know! Thanks for watching!
Interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out for this issue. Been riding GX AXS (horizontal battery) now for 1 year without a single issue. Ride two to three times per week, 2.5 to 3 hour each ride, flow and chunk, quick hard climbs... but in mostly dry conditions. Awesome performance and not one issue. I have no issue with cables (and have other bikes that are cabled) but love the AXS--hoping this issue does not develop on my ride.
Wow you were FLYING so fast down those trails!!! What do you keep your tire pressure at? I'm hoping to go back to Spider soon next week!
Thanks dude! I run 25psi rear and 20psi front.
You should go ride toro.. everything is running sick right now
Never ridden there. I'll have to check it out sometime!
Landing looked pretty soft
Very dusty!
I kept the V2 when the V3 came out and upgraded the SKF seals. But if this one breaks I’ll definitely upgrade.
Totally agree. I have V2 slammed so all I changed was the SKF wiper seals.
That was my big issue with the v2. I ride in muddy conditions in the winter and could barely get two rides in before having to regrease. Super frustrating. Went to pnw sealed cartridge and it’s been much more user frienly and consistent. But I did just buy a new v3 for a new bike build so stoked to hear they made some solid improvements.
Hahahaa and the hanger never bent 😂😂
That is definitely something I liked about transmission. But I have yet to bend a hanger (knock on wood) But I always carry a spare just in case. So far so good.
Quite happy with the grease coming out on my V2s, it means dirt and dust is making it's way out rather than further in. I also squirt a tiny bit of silicone on my seals and run it in by compressing the post an inch then running it back out to help pull dirt and dust out. I do this on my suspension to. I do this after every ride, keeps wiper seals cleaner which means stanchion coatings and seals last longer. Just replaced a 2016 fox factory 36 on one of my bikes as it is only just starting to show a thinning of the kashima in one spot on one stanchion. Have done 10s of thousands of riding on that fork.
But wouldn't it be better if it just never makes it in 🤷♂️ I know it's no big deal to just add some grease but it's something I don't want to keep doing every couple of rides, you shouldn't have to do that. I find the SKF seal does a better job of keeping the grease in and the dirt out. I do use silicone spray every time I wash the bike. Well, when I remember that is. Seems to keep the seals running better for longer on the fork, but didn't seem to help the dropper post much.
@@thebigoutsidemtb "But wouldn't it be better if it just never makes it in" It would but that is never going to happen in our life times, the technology is nowhere near that. I have been running SKF seals on my forks for years, dirt still gets in even with cleaning after every ride. Try what I do above with silicone spray on your fork and you will be surprised just how much dirt you can pull back out from behind the seal. It will also help your seals seat against the stanchion better reducing future ingress of dirt.
Are you still using the cascade link with that EXT shock? I have a EXT Storia on my Bronson V4 and wondering if its worth to try a cascade link on it, to be honest the EXT was so much better then the original shock that its the one part of the bike I don't worry about to much at a bike park.
I am! So far its been my favorite setup! Just keep in mind I did have the shock tuned for the bike and the cascade link so my experience might be different. You will also want a heavier spring as I was going to run a 350lbs but EXT and Cascade both said to run a 500. Which feels perfect.
I've used SRAM AXS for my MTB for years and it just works! I've smashed it to the ground, drowned it in rivers and ridden it in -15 degC. Best biketech ever!
The older AXS doesn't have the issue as much. This is T-Type GX that is having all the issues.
i don’t see why you had to drop your lowers
I mean you might be able to do without but I was just following what others do. Also doesn’t hurt to clean it and give it some fresh oil.
bet they regret not just sending you anew derailleur
Gay pants crew, ripping 😂
That is cool. I wish I could do that. It’s just 30° where I’m at
🥶
I need to go back when its not wet...
Definitely! Gotta come in the summer, doesn't get very dusty and its never wet 😅
Those look sick! You have to show me around there.
what about argotal, xynotal, soft vs super soft, enduro vs DH
I'm testing out some enduro Kryptotal's on my trail bike. I'm going to also be testing out a Argotal Super Soft DH for a front this winter on my enduro bike. I have yet to use an Exynotal but plan to get one for a faster rear tire for my trail bike, likely going to be used in the summer. So I do plan to make a video of my experience with the lineup but as of now, I have just used the Kryptotal's in DH and Enduro casing. I will be sure to share my thoughts on the other tires once I have more ride time on them!
@thebigoutsidemtb thank you I will start with a rear tire to test it out since my front assegai is still good
@@boogiedownbronx73 For sure! I think you will like the setup. But tbh, I think the front tire is where you will feel it the most.

@@Larryeskabob No Problem! Just keep at it and you can ride at this level too! Thanks for watching!
Maybe the trasmision was bad that’s why they sell
It's not "bad" its just got some issues that need to be addressed. SRAM knows it, I think that they just wont fix it because they are still selling enough for it to be profitable and just ignoring how many fail. Thanks for watching!
Dang these trails look so fun! Used to live in the Bay when I was younger; hopefully can visit and ride this place and Pacifica
Heck yeah dude! They are both super fun and definitely worth going out of your way to ride them!
Ripping… but do you think you could achieve the same time on your acoustic bike?
This is an acoustic bike. This is my 170/170mm enduro bike. What you’re probably mistaken by is the Garmin head unit on the top tube.
