    Thanks! My brand new trek has this creak already. Not enough grease I guess

    Thanks for this. Much easier than I thought. It was dry powdery nastiness in there. But the bearings were not loose like yours, how do you remove those?

    • @Kaedenfu
      @Kaedenfu  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MantisRay861 Are the bearings stuck in the frame? If so I would squirt something like wd40 or pb blast on the metal to metal contact. If they are that stuck I would consider replacing the bearings too. Thanks for watching!

    Any ideas on why when I tighten my headset it is quite stiff to turn and not smooth and free? I have same headset as yours

    • @Kaedenfu
      @Kaedenfu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      STANLEY CINCO I had that problem with my unsealed headset on my bmx. Make sure you didn’t put the top bearing on the bottom and put more grease in the cups. If that doesn’t solve your issue you will probably need new head bearings.

      If you haven't, 1. Take off your handlebar from the stem, clean it, grease where it clamps, torque it to spec and see if that works. If that doesn't work, 2. Remove the head cups. I had that happen so I removed them and cleaned it up, then put it back in with some grease. And if that doesn't work, 3. It is your fork CSU. Let me know if any of those work, if it doesn't and you get to #3, let me know. Thanks for watching!!

    Why do you remove calliper?

    • @Kaedenfu
      @Kaedenfu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I could remove the fork easier. You don’t necessarily have to remove the caliper but it makes things go smoother and reduces the risk of scratching stuff up.

    I used to practice skills long back , but that was on a threaded stem. Maybe after 8years I'm getting back to mtb and trying to revive what i learned and learn more. The question is does things break frequently on these new stuffs frequently or is it just for me? Because i choosed a mtb of bad quality .

    Sir pls help me. Im new to mtb. I have my 2 week old mtb. Now, whenever I move my handle bar left and right there is a sound. Pls help

    • @Kaedenfu
      @Kaedenfu  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Dee the sound is either from tightening the top cap too much or if your headset bearings have gone bad. This happens because the pinch bolts and top cap loosen up from vibrations causing it to move back and forth. This lets the bearing move back and forth destroying the bearings. The first thing I’d do is doing what I did in the video. If this doesn’t let play around with the top cap torque.

    • @jasondaga1990
      @jasondaga1990 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kaedenfuat first, the sound was like a crispy plastic. So i decided to tighten it.. and now the sound became a click sound.

    • @Kaedenfu
      @Kaedenfu  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Dee Take it to your local bike shop. It shouldn’t much for them to replace the headset bearings. If it’s two weeks old they might just do it for free if you take it back to where you bought the bike.

    • @Kaedenfu

      Not necessarily. The grease is internal and the point of it is to keep water out. It will attract grease if you didn’t wipe down the outer parts of the headset though.
