I've been seeing a bunch of them pop up locally lately. I'm suspecting that it's people looking for a deal, and they just don't know any better. Then they try to sell it off like they are upgrading. I'm hoping videos like these deter more people from buying them.

Eh, Picked up my PNY GTX 1650 Super for $170 on Best Buy's website a month ago, yeah its about $10 higher than MSRP, but this card has a pretty good factory overclock, I've seen it report speeds of up to 2 ghz.
Also its one hell of a lot better than my previous “failing” RX 570, which while removing I realized that it might have just been a little bit of dust in its PCIE slot...

Little molex tip, put downwards or upwards pressure on the wires at the back of both male and female ends, angling the pins up or down in a straight line against the inside of the connector. This will keep all the male/female pins aligned on both sides as you connect them.

I just checked. If you select "sold and shipped by Walmart" all but one is out of stock. The only one that isn't, as of this post, is the MSI Geforce GTX 1660 VENTUS XS 6G OC 6GB GDDR5, at CA$1,567.97
with an additional $16.04 standard shipping fee. Even it isn't "sold and shipped" by Walmart, and it's "almost sold out".

I laughed my ASS off when I read the Google Search result!!
"The Triassic Period (252-201 million years ago) began after Earth's worst-ever extinction event devastated life. The Permian-Triassic extinction event, also known as the Great Dying, took place roughly 252 million years ago and was one of the most significant events in the history of our planet."

Molex isn't a connector standard, they are a manufacturer that makes thousands of different connectors. That particular connector was a poor choice though. Many of the current connectors are still made by Molex.

The Fermi era GPUs couldn't detect overscan settings out of the box so you end up with the display being offset from the bounds of the screen until the driver loaded

Any place with a third party market place is going to get this crap. I don't know if NVIDIA has done anything the past 2 generations to stop this, but they really need to start printing the model numbers in big text on the PCBs, and making the portion of the BIOS with the device identifier as read only.

The first time I tried to buy a graphics card it was on Ebay.
After bidding (and being the highest bidder so far) I noticed that the cooler was the most common one for fakes and that a card that couldn't possibly have an sli connector had a fake sli connector - so I called Ebay, told them that I was the highest bidder so far on an obviously fake graphics card and wanted my bid cancelled.
    And they did it.
Then I bought a used rx 470 8gb for $87 that worked fine for me for two years.

I'm at walmart.ca with a search for "video card" and if I click "Sold & Shipped by Walmart" all the video cards go away. So it's clear that it's not Walmart selling the scam cards, it's the Walmart Partners that are selling them. Not that that's any better. But it does show that there is an easy way to avoid buying a scam video cards through Walmart.
