      I purchased a 2017 Accord EX-L V-6 w/manual transmission new back in April of '17. I wanted the V-6 since they were retiring it in the Accords, and a manual was a must. I also wanted the last year of the ninth generation as I felt by that time they had a good chance to work out all the bugs. That transmission feels rock-solid, almost like a good truck trans. Fun car to drive.

It is the EX-L, V6 model, Celestial Blue Metallic with gray leather. I absolutely, positively LOVE this car. I now have just shy of 214,000 miles on it and it drives and performs like a brand new car. And I wouldn't sell it for twice what I paid for it. @@crowttubebot3075 Yes, I had a 2006 Honda Accord. I regret selling it.Scotty did a video where he talked about the k20 engine. That engine is legendary now. I had problems with the power steering pump and steering rack, but it was still drivable. The engine itself never gave any problems.
      And despite not having a turbo, I find that it has more oomph than an Audi A4. Sure, the A4 looks fancier, but for utility, power the Accord was better. I also liked that even though the cars I get are for the European market with the smaller engines, most of the parts for the American Honda Accord fitted ok and worked fine. Beautiful car. I haven't tried out a Toyota Camry or Avalon, but the Honda Accord is hard to beat.

    • @davidacave
      @davidacave 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think that this Honda Accord that Scotty is featuring in this video is supposed to be the last of the great Accords. From 2012 they simplified the front suspension. The new ones also come with the turbocharged gdi engine, so I don't know how the oil dilution problem is, or if it is still existent. Still, as far as cars go, the 2011 Accord, 2012 CRV and the 2012 Toyota Rav 4 are amazing choices. Any one of those could last you 5 to 6 years with minor repairs and maintenance.

    • @crowttubebot3075

      @@davidacave 5 to 6? I keep cars much longer than that. But, as an auto tech, I also do my own work on them, so I buy for reliability and ease of repairing them. I drove my 1993 Escort from 2004 to 2013. I would still have it, but I bought this Accord from a family member when she wanted to get a new car.
      Since I had done all the maintenance on it since nearly new, I could not pass it up.

      My girlfriend back in 95 had the same.
      After getting out of my Chevy and driving that one, I told her, that high-rev 4 cylinder easily beats the 3.1 multiport V6 I had in my car. I actually felt regret not getting a similar Honda and I got brainwashed by Chevy trying to sell me that Cavalier Z24.

    My 2010 4cl Exl. Has been bullet proof, it has 165,000 miles. I have OCD when it comes to its maintenance. The only parts I have changed other than the regular stuff was a starter. To this date no buring oil. But I am on top of my oil changes and use full synthetic.

I could not settle for that CVT crap when the 2.0 has the 10 speed automatic with the type R style engine on 4 cylinders. Let’s just say I’m loving the upgrade. Will be worth every penny in the end. I have an 08 Accord also. I have just surpassed 179k and the car starts every single morning. My car burns oil pretty bad, but I'm living with it. It also has a nasty startup rattle, but it goes away after a few seconds. I have no doubt this car will live for many years to come. I just recently got rid of a 97 Accord 4cyl that had 270k. The brake lines rotted away, but the motor being nearly untouched beside a set of plugs and regular oil changes still runs excellent. A case of the motor outlasting the body.
