    This is a fantastic video which helped me do my replacement. I have a few suggestions to make things easier:
    1. Reinstalling the transmission is the hardest part, However there is an installation ring on the transmission which was used to originally install the transmission. Place a 2 x 4 across the fenders. Use a ratchet strap to pull the transmission up by attaching an "S" hook between the strap and the ring on the transmission. The transmission balances very well this way. You can then use the ratchet strap to pull the transmission up into place.
    I followed JKs advice and removed the upper transmission mount beforehand. it is possible you may not have to do that with a ratchet strap, I don't know.
    2. When bleeding the slave cylinder, open the line by pulling the line out slightly. Have your assistant press the clutch pedal to the floor. Close the line by pushing it back in, Then have your assistant pull up on the pedal. Repeat this until the fluid is clear of bubbles.
    3. it appears that these clutches go out prematurely. I may know a reason why. When the vehicle is starting out from a stop, it should be in first gear. With the Versa shifting pattern, it is easy to put it in 3rd gear instead of first. Starting out in 3rd gear will wear out the clutch plate. So, be extra careful and make sure you put the transmission in first gear.

I never worked on car before besides oil change and struts replacement. Next time I think I would do it in 8. @JK Feather Ranch. I just replaced my clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing on my 2009 Nissan Versa base sedan. Your car has the same transmission and clutch system mine does and basically the exact subframe. Your video is spot on and even works for my 2009. I bought my clutch from Autozone with no issues for those reading. The air baffling is slightly different and a few fuse boxes are placed in other areas on my older 2009, but everything else is spot on. Thanks for the terrific video and I hope you see this comment! Nice video. Thanks for posting. I'm replacing the slave (incarcerated) cylinder on my 2007 Versa. It's similar to what you're working on. It's helpful to get the socket sizes you're using, grease used on the drive shafts, etc. I've made (several) trips to the local shop to expand my tool collection. I've also found that a bunch of other parts needed to be replaced. I started the project back in January 2021. My son found that the gear selection cables could be released by pushing them back towards the firewall, rather than prying them up.

    • @jkfeatherranch
      @jkfeatherranch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I did not even think about mentioning the socket sizes, mainly because I don't remember them when I'm editing the video. Grease was Lucas Red and Tacky, I use it for pretty much everything that requires grease.

    Great Video! I just finished replacing the transmission and the slave cylinder. After button up everything and took it out for a test drive. Noticed a few drip of brake fluid from the same location as your car. I hope is not the slave cylinder because it was brand new. I am hoping is the o-ring on the tube that feeds the slave cylinder. It probably won't be exactly the same but the process is similar for most front wheel drive cars. I think the engine changed in 2014-2015, so yours will probably be a bit different.

    • @williamfrench9973

      It is relatively similar from what I saw. You may want to watch this video: th-cam.com/video/daw_1yD3QS0/w-d-xo.html. He is removing an AT instead of MT, but the model engine setup is much closer to our 2011 hatch’s (I’ve got the same - in brilliant silver). Hope this helps.

      Is yours an automatic? From what I can find from a quick google search, it looks like this code has to do with one of the solenoids (valves) that control the clutches inside of an automatic transmission, which is not the same thing as the clutch in a manual transmission.

    The 13th Amendment made slavery illegal, except as a form of punishment (wonder if that has any relation to the Unites States' disproportionate incarceration rate, nah probably just a coincidence), so I'd prefer if you'd call it an incarcerated cylinder. Thanks.

      As a stand up citizen with a past incarceration, I was never a slave in the system. I had 2 free meals daily, room and board free of charge, shower time, access to equipment or at least space to partake in physical activities and improve my physical fitness, free dental, visual and health care and I studied regularly without ever having to work a second while in the system. Slavery? Idk about that. More like a vacation you can't leave from temporarily to help you reflect on your current situation and what to do to better yourself. Sometimes you do have to participate in some violent activities and always have to be aware of everyone and everything around you, but that can be said of any vacation anywhere, take a safari vacation for example.....
