    I coincidentally used the same blower (100$) ,though I plunged the pick-up tube directly into the bin were the material was dumped and roughly broken up by hand . Word of advice; you may want to run a wire from ground to the discharge since it will create a constant static charge 😂

    • @jkfeatherranch
      @jkfeatherranch 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Aside from obvious range concerns, none whatsoever. With their instant torque from 0 rpm and regenerative braking in addition to friction brakes, electric drivetrains are actually well-suited to towing from a performance perspective. We would not have attempted this without airbags in the rear suspension, however. For a small trailer doing light-duty things, that probably isn't necessary.

    Great video. Quick tip though for everyone else doing this; The metal panel clips can be pressed on the side using a flat screwdriver to unlatch them. Then they pull out very easily with no risk of them breaking off. You just need to flex the panels out enough to press them.

    This is a fantastic video which helped me do my replacement. I have a few suggestions to make things easier: 1. Reinstalling the transmission is the hardest part, However there is an installation ring on the transmission which was used to originally install the transmission. Place a 2 x 4 across the fenders. Use a ratchet strap to pull the transmission up by attaching an "S" hook between the strap and the ring on the transmission. The transmission balances very well this way. You can then use the ratchet strap to pull the transmission up into place. I followed JKs advice and removed the upper transmission mount beforehand. it is possible you may not have to do that with a ratchet strap, I don't know. 2. When bleeding the slave cylinder, open the line by pulling the line out slightly. Have your assistant press the clutch pedal to the floor. Close the line by pushing it back in, Then have your assistant pull up on the pedal. Repeat this until the fluid is clear of bubbles. 3. it appears that these clutches go out prematurely. I may know a reason why. When the vehicle is starting out from a stop, it should be in first gear. With the Versa shifting pattern, it is easy to put it in 3rd gear instead of first. Starting out in 3rd gear will wear out the clutch plate. So, be extra careful and make sure you put the transmission in first gear.

    Great stuff!! I’ve been wanting to do this with my car, but I think I need to get the inverter you’re using to handle our 120 V air conditioner. I tried it during a recent hurricane, and it wouldn’t quite kick the compressor on. Question, did you do a video where you wired up that generator port? I assumed if I tied a generator plug into a 20 amp circuit breaker, it would only power every other breaker since it’s only 1 pole. And I couldn’t find a two pole inverter that would work with the Bolted in a different direction direction direction This would be a game changer. Let me know if you get a moment… And thanks again for your contact and help! Watching again, it looks as though the adapter you used enabled to this. Could you provide me a link?

    • @jkfeatherranch
      @jkfeatherranch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, our mini splits don't have a start-up surge, however a regular window unit certainly will, and will need a bigger inverter. I'd be very surprised if the one I'm using here couldn't run one, though. No video on the generator inlet, but it's wired to a two-pole 30 amp breaker in our panel. The adapter cord I'm using (link in description) splits the 120v from the inverter so it powers both legs, though there's no voltage difference between them so anything that requires 240 volts won't work. But fine for our purposes.

I called mr. cool support line and they DID say it does not come pre-charged. Can you help clarify this for me please?

      The "non-DIY" units still come pre-charged with refrigerant, but require pulling a vacuum prior to releasing it. That is the only difference, aside from the price savings (:

      @@jkfeatherranch Hi. Thanks for the info. I called the Mr. Cool tech line twice within the 29 days it's taken me to get this done, and they both times they stated that the units are not DIY and therefore are not pre charged. I ended ripping the entire unit out of my home, put it back into the box, and returned it back to Home Depot after refrigerant came out on me and I quickly realized that, WAIT A MIN, this DOES have refrigerant in it!!! This has been the MOST frustrating project. I will be going with a PIONEER, which they have great support (they actually pickup the phone, unlike mr UNcool), and it's cheaper (in price). So upsetting Mr. Cool support could not be straight forward with my simple question "Does the Advantage 4 gen series come pre charged". I will NEVER do business with another Mr Cool product again.. They truly suck on all levels as far as support. Can't speak for the operation because I never got it running.

      I did this entire job over the course of 1-2 weeks, but that was working on it a few hours at a time after work and filming as well, which makes everything take longer.

      @@jkfeatherranch my pedal is soft but the gears engage fine. I've been thinking on whether I want to swap the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder, I might start by bleeding it, make sure air is out of the system lol thanks for your help

    Good project. The only suggestion I have for you is to add an air filter on the inlet for the inverter box.

    I must find that pedestrian noise switch video! They should sell/give custom noises. Obviously there'd have to be a vetting/whitelist process. But wouldn't it be cool to have one that sounds like a tie fighter, or the TARDIS? Aw kitty! I got a bidet years and years ago. Was laughing through the great TP shortage of the Trump presidency :D Originally a Tushy brand, was a kickstarter of it. Now a slightly better one. No hot water or blow dryer, but they're not necessary for me. When my Bolt finally dies, or gets replaced, I wanna drop the battery out of it and use it for home power storage. That'll either need a neat kit from somewhere, or for me to get an electrical engineering degree though.

      The bidet was the whole reason we installed the inlet, could run an extension cord to everything else but running one to the bathroom would be annoying and the wife NEEDS HER BIDET!!!

    Cool video. Texas and I don't get along. Been through there 3 times, and stayed once for 6 months for work. Been pulled over 7 times, 6 of them right after crossing the border. They really don't like CO plates I guess. Or maybe it was the 'Rocky Mountain High' bumper sticker. Last time I left I may have been speeding a little. Did you know a 1993 Impreza could go 125mph? :D Love the hair. But there was a Wendy's there, they're yummy. Luckily I've never had that much trouble fast charging, but I only do it a couple times a year. Biggest trip was Denver to Des Moines, 'Beverly' made it just fine. Going up the mountains is a blast though. Especially coming back down and getting 9mi/kWh :D I need to get a hitch for my Bolt. Oh yeah Bolts can use Tesla chargers now... if you get the $265 adapter. //or find a magic dock. I generally only end up charging when it's below freezing, and sometimes well below 0; I've never gotten over 40kW in. Around here there are Electrified Walmarts, but also Targets and most of the 7-11s have chargers too. Plus Tesla is all over. Should add a price per mile to that overview screen. Last time I did the math DCFS was nearly as pricey as gasoline in my old Subaru, with a trailer bringing down the efficiency I bet it's on par with gas. Gas was much cheaper then though. 7.8 cents per mile at that Tesla charger. My 'Roo was about 12-15c per mile, so still better than gas yay. Yeah, DFW is scary to drive in. I got there right as monsoon season hit. I don't mind the heat in CO, but heat + humidity bout ended me.

      Thank you (: Wifey did the driving, her main complaint was the "weird" freeway on/off ramps. They were scary. Our hitch is extremely useful, in fact we sold our truck because it just sat in our yard for over a year because the Bolt and a utility trailer are so much cheaper to operate, especially just for our usual Home Depot or animal feed runs where we can still charge at home. Our only ICE vehicle capable of towing a trailer gets 15 mpg at best while doing it, so that skews the math in favor of the Bolt. Price of gas in CA, especially when we took this trip, was crazy. It was 112 a couple weeks ago but with single-digit humidity. Far easier to deal with even that!
