Honestly with Simone I've reached a point where I'll watch anything she makes regardless of the build. I just love the way she documents and talk about her process and her personality. 8:46 I just realized that people have this sort of specific "I'm coming home and introducing someone I love to my living space" type of smile and I think it looks great on Simone.
Literally weeping as you reunite with your mom. Also I love love love that she wanted to build something because, to me, that clearly indicates that she only cared about spending time with you.
No matter how innovative you become, a mom will always tell you that little thing you failed to do correctly. In other words, we cannot be our elders 😂 that dog at the airport though. It was so overwhelming.
"My decisions make no sense, but I'm having a good time." THIS. And you said hi to the dog first, so now I know you're my people ❤️ And where do I get a mom like this? She's delightful!
Omg. I'm an Australian living in Denmark with my Danish husband and Danish kids. They have for years called me by the nickname "Lille Mor"!!! So I obviously felt an instant kinship with your mum. Great renovation and so touching to see your reunion!
awww simone this is so adorable. things like this make me feel lucky that ive been able to stay with my parents the last two years. I"m so happy youve been able to meet her again!! your mother must be so proud of you (like really, thats not sarcastic lol)
My haters throw rocks at me and IT hurts. I hope they don't throw The Rock at me because I like him as an actor. GAGAGAGAGA!!! I am funny!!! I am the funniest TH-camr EVAH! Please agree, dear ov
I genuinely teared up when you and your mum decided to skip the museums and build stuff together. Not when you met at the airport for the first time in 2 years. When you started ripping sh*t out. Tell me I'm not weird with my emotions, please? 🤔😂
Millions of people have met their loved ones at the airport. Simone and her mom are possibly the only ones who can say they've torn down a couch in an old used trailer in order to replace it with a table.
The hug in the trailer after the night light was so honest, and mum and daughter - I just... that was beautiful and we can all relate and thank you for sharing your mum with us ❤️.
you literally make me feel like pursuing a career in engineering and STEM and tbh, the amount of serotonin I get from your videos is insane and it always lifts my mood. I just love your vibe, also glad you got to see your mom!
Finally got to visit my mom after 2.5 yrs this past summer. Took my daughter on her first cross country road trip and we drove to Long Beach and stopped at all sorts of places along the way. I hugged my mom for a solid 5 minutes, and I cried too cause I’m a mamas boy. Best vacation ever.
This is one of the most heartwarming videos I've watched in years. Your Mum is EXACTLY how I would have expected. I know I've commented this on several of your videos and I'm probably dangerously close to coming off as an overly obsessed fan, but: you genuinely are my biggest inspiration in life nowadays. Keep doing life good!
Oh man, that hug at the airport, that's a tight hug you only save for these kinds of reunions. The entire weight of missing someone so dearly is carried in it. Simultaneously tense but releasing. Yeah I'm crying.
Simone, this made me cry. And this feeling that has occurred to me as a result of this video is exactly what I needed. You are a divine individual and inspiration.
This was by far, the sweetest of your videos. Love how the first thing your mom wanted to do is to build something. Definetely daugther of your mother. Big hugs from the south
The video I never thought I needed. Love that it turned into more than just "seeing mom for the first time in 2 years" but a moment were strangers get a slice of what true love between mother and daughter looks like. Thank you for all you do, Simone!
This is the exact same relationship I have with my mom. She’s the person who comes to my house and wants to repaint my cabinets or build a table. I have absolutely seen her sawing trim in her PJs before. It’s so empowering to have a female role model who teaches you that you can build and shape your life into whatever you want.
I told myself to prepare the emotional department for this but I still broke down and am still in tears full-blown sobbing. I haven’t seen my mom (or any of my family in about 5 and a half years; they are in Saipan and I am in Oregon) and this obviously got me. I am so beyond happy for you guys and I want to thank you for letting us experience some of this magic with you. Also although needless to say, the little camper came out beautifully! ❤️
This reminds me so much of when my dad came to town a few years ago. We had all these plans to go out and see stuff around town. What did he want to do? Help me demo a couple closets in my new house so we could build... well... what turned out to be a bigger closet. But it was still the most fun I'd had with my dad up to that point.
It is so wonderful that this beautiful project you were doing FOR your mom also ended up becoming a project you could do WITH your mom. It's just lovely.
This made me miss my mom so much! She passed away a year ago and was always just wanting to do what I loved whenever I saw her. Didn't care about going and doing anything extravagant. This gave me lots of happy/sad feels. The camper looks amazing!! She was so right about the seating!!
I totally understand, I lost my mother 2 years ago just a weak before Covid started being whispered about. I'm so sorry for your loss. This video was very bittersweet for me too, but it felt nice seeing someone else reunite with their mother, and I get to experience that high vicariously. You can really tell from those tight hugs, their eagerness to work on a project together, and the playfulness between, that they share a deep wonderful love. I wish Simone and her mother every happiness.
This was the most heart warming thing I have seen in a very long time. This is such a wonderful help and inspiration as your videos always are. I feel like your videos always help pull me out of whatever funk I'm in and this video especially.
That big hug with your mom... It got me sobbing cause that's what happened when I met my mom after two years. Just one looong hug to make up for the many hugs missing from two years
The fact that your mom came in and suggested that, and the you did it on the spot, together, is the sweetest most endearing thing I've ever watched. 😭💗
Once again, you knocked every single project this entailed out of the park. You are such an inspiration to girls like my daughter, who (at 11) already knows she wants a science career.
Agreed! I’m currently a girl studying computer science in university and the lack of women in my classes can get discouraging sometimes. Hopefully by the time your daughter reaches this level of education things will be a bit more diverse, especially with the influence of people like Simone
as a parent some of my fondest memories are when I've been able to share in what they are passionate about,. so I can totally understand why she would just want to build stuff with you instead of going site seeing. :-)
I really needed this video. You’re so skilled Simone. Watching you and your mom Hugging each other when you first saw each other. For what ever reason I knew you was going to greet her dog first. My mom passed 4 years ago. Now I’m feeling even closer to my mom.
Your mom is awesome. She has style, comedy, a clear love for animals, and an inspiring will to build. I see where you get it from! You even sound alike. Thanks for the glimpse into your loving reunion
The relatability How we all just become little kids seeking our parents approval 😂🙏🏻❤️ Your mother, it’s similar to my mom, she just has this thing where she can, in one glance humble me and remind me where I got “it” from! Also, I love how Scraps and her…auntie (?) dog got on so well! Such good babies! What a calm dynamic. You are definitely your mother’s daughter 🙏🏻
This was so heartwarming, and I love that the first thing you and your mom do when she comes to town is basically more crafting. And we got to find out that your craftiness comes from your mom! Maybe your dad, too, but he wasn't in this. 😋

Oh, wow. I genuinely teared up at this. So heartwarming, so wholesome, so adorable! (I would absolutely dig a Simone Giertz memoir or autobiography. I feel like there are a lot of fun stories to be told!)
"...do you see where i get it from...?" Yes. Definitely yes. That was my first thought when she told you her thoughts about the couch. This video is so adorable & fun & wholesome and that interaction made me audibly *lolsnort*
I nearly cried when you were hugging at the airport, so glad my mom moved to Denmark from the Faroe Islands so we can see each other every day now. Instead of once a year like we used to. As to talking to the dogs in two languages, imagine doing that with your kids like I do. My youngest only speaks danish, although she understands about 60% Faroese. And my oldest speaks both languages fluently. I get it mixed up constantly but it still works Lol. Love what you did to the camper! Love from Denmark
This reminds me of when I built a "cuddle curtain" to be able to hug my parents during the UK lockdowns. I was lucky that they lived close to me, but I didn't hug them for over a year and watching you finally be able to hug your mum again just brought all those memories back of when I finally was allowed to hug my parents again
Last year two of my classmates hugged through a curtain and I cried just looking at it. I Hadn’t hugged anyone in so long and lived away from my family, new place etc. Human contact is so important!!
In 2019 my job with an airline allowed me to fly my mother to the states. She’d not been back since 2006. I had been in highschool the last she’d seen me. None of her children had been married, and none of her grandchildren had been born. She’d also been very sick in the in between years and unable to travel. Sadly she’d lost her husband the year before. 13 years apart. And she was coming to my home. I wound up on anxiety meds finally! 2019 wound up the perfect window of opportunity for it to happen. She got to hug my niece and nephew. Meet her son and daughter in-laws. Hug her siblings! I really feel for everyone that’s been kept apart for this time. I hope we can all treasure the times we get to spend together while we can. We never know what will happen next.
This was the perfect way for you to reconnect. You could tell she was so impressed, and then immediately wanted to spend time with you by creating and building something together in the space you renovated for her.
This was your best project yet!!! Both my parents passed away in the last few years, and seeing you and lilla momma working together made me cry. Thanks so much.
Haven't seen my parents in almost 3 years. I'm planning to visit them next summer. This video makes me look forward to it even more. Thanks Simone 😊 Damn these onion cutting ninjas ... *sniff*
First I was so excited for you to see your mom. Then I was in tears when you got to see her after so long. Then I started laughing when she started redecorating your camper. So happy that you and your mom get to spend time together.❤️
Your mom Is AWESOME! You can definitely see where you get your creativity, sense of humor and looks from! I'm so glad you got to see her after so long. Her pup is adorable too! Great video, great project and great vibes!
Super sweet video. Put some tears in my eyes seeing that airport hug. Wish I had anywhere near this level of relationship with my parents. I know not too late to start but they are not at all invested in my interests and I just cant just sit and watch tv for hours and call that bonding.
Please find something, anything. I've lost both parents, my father when I was just 13 and my mother when I was 37. I'm nearly 50. Find a compromise. Watch som tv with them, they do something you like to do, and find something that both you and your parents haven't done but would like to try. Once they're gone, it's too late. Hope you can work something out. 🙂
I love seeing you build things with your mom. I'm glad you got to see her again after auch a long time. She seems really nice. This video is so sweet. I also love it when you speak swedish, because I understand most of it and I just love that language!

It was so overwhelming.
gone yt
"My decisions make no sense, but I'm having a good time."
THIS.
And you said hi to the dog first, so now I know you're my people ❤️
And where do I get a mom like this? She's delightful!
If I had to venture a guess, I would say in Sweden...
The satisfaction of being Simone's mom and knowing what an amazing human you've raised must be so wonderful.
Omg. I'm an Australian living in Denmark with my Danish husband and Danish kids. They have for years called me by the nickname "Lille Mor"!!! So I obviously felt an instant kinship with your mum.
Great renovation and so touching to see your reunion!
så hyggeligt!!
awww simone this is so adorable. things like this make me feel lucky that ive been able to stay with my parents the last two years. I"m so happy youve been able to meet her again!! your mother must be so proud of you (like really, thats not sarcastic lol)
Sweetest comment 😊
My haters throw rocks at me and IT hurts. I hope they don't throw The Rock at me because I like him as an actor. GAGAGAGAGA!!! I am funny!!! I am the funniest TH-camr EVAH! Please agree, dear ov
gotta dump youtube sadly
This is so nice! I literally started crying when you started working on the camper with your mom 😭
So true, and when they hugged at the airport, aaaand as her mum saw the lamp and was touched... 😂😭 So nice and wholesome ❤
I genuinely teared up when you and your mum decided to skip the museums and build stuff together. Not when you met at the airport for the first time in 2 years. When you started ripping sh*t out. Tell me I'm not weird with my emotions, please? 🤔😂
That was also my favorite part! No fake bonding over art and cheap pasta. Just "hey, we should rip out that stupid useless couch and build a table!"
I had the exact same feeling, the airport was sweet but something about sharing an interest with your parent like that is so heartwarming
Millions of people have met their loved ones at the airport. Simone and her mom are possibly the only ones who can say they've torn down a couch in an old used trailer in order to replace it with a table.
Your Mom helping you tear out the bench, is the single most wholesome thing this year. Thank you for inviting us all to watch :), the world needed it.
The amount of serotonin you get. lol, just don't pursue biology!
Im a mechanic and i have worked on all types of vehicles from diggers to race cars.
The feeling of fixing something is amazing
So true
Finally got to visit my mom after 2.5 yrs this past summer. Took my daughter on her first cross country road trip and we drove to Long Beach and stopped at all sorts of places along the way. I hugged my mom for a solid 5 minutes, and I cried too cause I’m a mamas boy. Best vacation ever.
That's so wonderful.
You're lucky to have each other...
God bless you and yours.
omg this is such a treat. I love how mom comes and immediately starts demoing. What a wonderful family tree.
She shouldn’t feel bad her mom came up with it. If you live in space, that’s when you see how stuff can be improved.
I love that your mom comes to visit and is like "why is that couch there? Let's change it" that is awesome!
I hope you can see your mum and family soon.
I lost my mom in 2017. That long hug with your mom after two years had me teary. ♡ And you mom pitching right in...awesome. Love your mom.
Hannah, it will be 6 months for me now on the day tomorrow. And I can SOOO much relate...
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost mine in 2010. That hug had me sniffling for sure.
This made me miss my mom so much! She passed away a year ago and was always just wanting to do what I loved whenever I saw her. Didn't care about going and doing anything extravagant. This gave me lots of happy/sad feels.
The camper looks amazing!! She was so right about the seating!!
I am sorry for your loss. I lost my dad just prior to the COVID shut down, and it has had a huge impact in my life. What is remembered, lives.
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad in March and this video made me cry for the same reason! 💔😔
I feel like your videos always help pull me out of whatever funk I'm in and this video especially.
idiots fallow
She knocked it out of the trailer park... :)
And, again as usual, Simone makes a bland sounding topic into a heartwarming and hilarious video. Fantastic.
as a parent some of my fondest memories are when I've been able to share in what they are passionate about,. so I can totally understand why she would just want to build stuff with you instead of going site seeing. :-)
I really needed this video. You’re so skilled Simone. Watching you and your mom Hugging each other when you first saw each other. For what ever reason I knew you was going to greet her dog first. My mom passed 4 years ago. Now I’m feeling even closer to my mom.
I'm so sorry about your mom 💜
What a wonderful daughter you are! Your mom must be very proud of your brilliance and thoughtfulness!
Wot like forcing her mother to sleep in a camper van because she can't stand to be under the same roof as her? Yeah really wonderful 🙄😑😒🤨🙁
02:34 Simone learns that violence is not the answer. It is a question and the answer is "yes".
Your mom is awesome. She has style, comedy, a clear love for animals, and an inspiring will to build. I see where you get it from! You even sound alike. Thanks for the glimpse into your loving reunion
The relatability
How we all just become little kids seeking our parents approval 😂🙏🏻❤️
Your mother, it’s similar to my mom, she just has this thing where she can, in one glance humble me and remind me where I got “it” from!
Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
*What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Romans 10:9
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
JESUS CHRIST can come anytime!
Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS
When you met your mom at the airport was so sweet. I have had similar experiences with being able to visit family. I'm not crying... you're crying 🥺🥺
you probably won't see this but I appreciate the hammer and music were in sync at 2:37
Also this is just a really sweet video~ Seeing you and your mum wanting to just spend time building stuff is so heartwarming
This is so endearing. Simone proving, once again, she's the best thing on TH-cam.
This honestly brought me more joy than I’ve experienced in over a year. Thank you. I literally cried.
I just found myself smiling the whole time. Wow. this was so much more wholesome and heartwarming than anything I've ever seen before.
I come back and watch this video again every now and then because it's so loving and wonderful and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside
_I miss my mum. She is gone now. But I appreciate this video. I love watching you have ideas together and sharing warm moments. Bless you both_
Oh, wow. I genuinely teared up at this. So heartwarming, so wholesome, so adorable! (I would absolutely dig a Simone Giertz memoir or autobiography. I feel like there are a lot of fun stories to be told!)
"...do you see where i get it from...?"
Yes.
This makes me happy cry, and it is so clear where Simone gets her amazingness from.
Thanks Simone 😊
Damn these onion cutting ninjas ... *sniff*
Simone's videos never fail to put a smile on my face. Most wholesome channel on youtube, hands down.
okay this was so wholesome but is nobody gonna talk about that amazing music sync-up at 12:17?
This is such a heartwarming video I love it so much!!!!!
8:40 THE DOGE joining the group hug was so cute I teared up
Super sweet video.
I love the fact that the trailer has the Spool as a nightstand. It's still one of my favorite Simone projects. 🧵
I stan spool
@@simonegiertz Spool is Cool
ALL HAIL SPOOL!
A year later, still find this video very emotional! The moment you're showing her sign you made - gosh, it gets me.
I am happy someone out there has a happy relationship with their parent. It warms my heart and thank you for sharing these moments!
i haven't seen my husband since the pandemic started and borders shut. This was so sweet to watch and I can't wait for the same kind of airport hug I just saw in this video!
It’s late, but I hope you got too see him! There are so many people in our position, you’re never alone in the wait❤️
Your Mom is awesome. I love that you guys spent time building together, I think that's more meaningful than going to a museum or such, very heart warming and I'm so happy you got to see her again after so long.
I love your mom! Just the mix of Swedish and English makes me think of my Swedish friends and she would fit right in with them.
I am always amazed by the growth from the early days of this channel to today. It is amazing to see Simone going from trying to not design things that are good because of a fear of failure to someone who innovates and creates professional looking work across a number of disciplines. Amazing.
I cried, that was so fun watching you both greet, settle in and start a build!
*I just love how you both are so skilled!
I very nearly broke out in tears to begin with, then I was laughing... now my heart is full of joy 😂 ♥
Thank you Simone.
I haven't seen my mom in a long time and when you hugged at the airport I couldn't help but cry, I miss my mom and you guys are so sweet
I've been following along since the very first videos and this one is by far my favourite. That's all I'm gonna say.
Aw. Thanks. You just casually making my day over there.
we haven't seen our families in over 2 years too, and our kid went from a baby to a child without seeing her grandparents, we can't wait to go back. happy for you!
Your mom is so wonderful. The energy you two bring around is very infectious. I couldn't stop smiling through this whole video.
You mom’s laugh is just the best. This video made me smile.
