Hi Morley, I think the chair could retain the back if you use a wider C shape beam to support the entire structure instead of a long straight beam, to achieve that chair like look and be able to lie back on it
Wow I really love how the "fabric" bunched up at the bottom when you first hung the chair. Granted, doesn't look comfy, but it almost looks like an afghan blanket thrown onto a table that naturally wrinkled or something. Really cool final product!
Morley, a bidding war doesn’t reflect the intrinsic value of the chair itself. At this point, you're a TH-camr people are excited to watch, and what they'll be REALLY bidding on is YOUR work. It’s not about how much the chair is worth-it’s about how much a Morley chair is worth at this point. People will want to own something you’ve created, like buying art. The bidding reflects your value as a creator, not just the chair’s. Congrats on making it ! ;)
Just because the value is linked to the creator/maker doesn’t mean the valuation is wrong. Most luxury furniture pieces are created by a famous designer (Le Corbusier, Eames, etc.)
@@MorleyKert You're absolutely right-the evaluation of the chair itself is still valid. I’m just saying the price is going to be higher because YOU made it. @@MorleyKert I would still argue that auctions don't really give a real estimate for a general value either though. As a "sheet of fabric" alone, it would make awesome wall art or even a way to divide a room by hanging it from the ceiling in a sheet form. So creative.

Eh given the cost of the printers. The filament. The work required to assemble the chair and cleaning it all up makes me think it's not worth the effort even at 2.5k you are barely making average wage and this project isn't exactly a steady income opportunity so you need to make a lot more than average to justify it.

I’ve hit that thing on accident playing VR as hard as possible probably 50 times and it’s fine
Since the plastic bits are gonna be the hardest to replace if they break, it would probably be a good idea to include the model files for the triangles with the chair
It occurs to me that if you used a long semi-stiff wire that you could thread through the channels like what they use for wire snakes for running electrical wiring and then somehow attach to one end of your macrame rope you could potentially just pull the rope through the channels in one pull without having to tediously weave them in and out piece by piece saving a ton of time. He just cant stop! Soon we're gonna find out he runs an underground ring of counterfeit high art chair production enthusiasts with millions in revenue.
Hmm… Maybe if you had a few places where 5 triangles meet instead of 6, it could help make the curvature closer to the shape you want without there being as many “wrinkles”? But, this would substantially complicate the “what path do the coords take” question, as well as the assembly process.
I just gotta say it has been so cool to see you dive further into this field. I really enjoyed your earlier projects and i think it's clear you're very passionate about this stuff. So I'm hyped we will see you focus more and allow yourself to dive further into this kind of stuff. There is so many different things you could do with these skills and motivation 👍🏻

I'm thinking, you might be able to cut your assembly time down by using a thin electrical snake.
Cool idea man, nice job!
I hate it... but that is still an IMPACT. I'm certain there will be a small group who will absolutely love it - and possibly love it all the more BECAUSE the majority don't like it!
I love this series
after 6 hours we are pass half the price of the furr...Fluffy chair! Keep it up! We can't let this chair win.
Make a video how you 3d print car bumpers car bumpers are pretty expensive❤❤
He just cant stop! Soon we're gonna find out he runs an underground ring of counterfeit high art chair production enthusiasts with millions in revenue.
Hmm…
Maybe if you had a few places where 5 triangles meet instead of 6, it could help make the curvature closer to the shape you want without there being as many “wrinkles”? But, this would substantially complicate the “what path do the coords take” question, as well as the assembly process.
People using 3d prints of brittle plastic as final product instead of using it to pull molds and use it to prototype is nutty.
i just looked at the bid 6 hours after this was posted and dear lord, it is already at $5,800 USD
I just gotta say it has been so cool to see you dive further into this field. I really enjoyed your earlier projects and i think it's clear you're very passionate about this stuff. So I'm hyped we will see you focus more and allow yourself to dive further into this kind of stuff. There is so many different things you could do with these skills and motivation 👍🏻
its only been 6 hours and it's already approaching $6000. Running for 2 weeks, this chair could definitely end up with a final price of 100k+ at this rate (realistically probably 20-30k) .
