It’s a big thing in the Harley world
One reason that helped you win that track event is at 6-speed transmission. As much as people recommend downgrading to a 5-speed (because its stronger) there are some companies out there producing heavy duty gear sets and options for the 6-spd. The 6-spd maintains that close ratio gear set for the advantage over a 5-spd to keep the engine in that sweet spot power band. Being a Evo 8 MR owner would like to see what you push the 6-speed with new tech and maintain the track advantage ⚙️ 🏁

I agree with this but if you make enough power and track dependent, it shouldn't matter.
I feel like he won because he’s completely in-tune with driving that car. His driving as progressed like crazy.
And his suspension and alignment are extremely dialed-in. You can tell he’s completely understanding of the car.
And he doesn’t have a 6-speed anymore if I recall right
@@frankchu7190 We’ll see how the 5spd is at other tracks. Limerock is very very heavy on mid and high speed corners with really nothing slow or any long straights

I just love the personalities of the two bens. Short Ben is definitely more technical while Tall Ben is just go with the flow, "we will see what happens" type of attitude and I think its great. I can definitely relate to the both of you. Great Job gentlemen

Looking at footage it might be worth trying to get more droop on the rear shocks of the ek so under full load you have both rear tyres in contact with the tarmac. Although can't remember how thick the rear sway bar is so could just be that.
Likely a lot of factors at play but agreed. Tripoding looks cool but you're losing grip in doing so.
Over driving the car will kill lap times too.
Congrats on you and The Evo pulling it through that's awesome. You needed that win and a for once a semi reliable Evo. Sorry for The Civic's gremlins I hope you get it sorted out b/c when that thing does run it's a deadly beast even scaring some of the Forced induction racers times. Congrats on the win with the Evo! I was driving behind the Civic in the grey PhD Racing Supra getting sprayed with oil 😂 had to wipe it off after every session. You guys came over and apologized to me about it on grid, which was awesome, even though I wasn’t bothered by it lol.
The camaraderie is astounding out there. Everyone seems so helpful and cool. Love the car community.

I doubt there’s “oil soak” in your tires. That would have dried out in a couple laps on that dry track coupled with those friction slides around corners.

Lmao at the 21 min mark when Rob starts the 4 rotor
Oil seeped into the tyre, use paint thinner and soak a rag with it, wipe soaked rag onto the tyre.. scrub them hard...
Another method is by buying big loads of RC car tyre rubber prep liqud...
Use it the same way as the paint thinner... (Just more expensive but more effective)...
That way u help cleans up and recondition the rubber to its prime grip level...
Also helps for the tyre to grip better while waiting for tyre temp getting into optimum level...

100% you should do a collab with The BoostedBoiz and show them the ropes of how to build a track civic for fast lap times so you can properly experience why the car exists in the first place.. It's the only thing (which is hard to believe when they're doing a full blown Honda channel) which those guys haven't properly done with a civic / K-swap :( The true appreciation of designers Kohichi Hirata, Masakazu Udagawa; Yoshi Kigoyoshi , etc..
I love these videos because I know I won't ever be able to do anything like this.
The money it takes to go to a track is insane, beyond just tyres and track session.There's always bound to be something that breaks that needs to be replaced. That's just the nature of cars being pushed to the limit.
But its alright I get enough joy driving on the twisties so I can just watch track racing videos and play games to get the enjoyment that I can't afford.
Can't wait for the next installments of grid life!

The in car camera on the Evo fastest lap was brilliant
The EK is showing suspension jacking in the rear end which is detrimental towards rear end grip. Suspension jacking is caused by a roll center that is below ground during roll conditions. The EVO is also showing this to a lesser extent. This can be corrected by raising the rear end, raising the roll center with suspension components such as drop knuckles, or limiting suspension travel.
He's popping a wheel in the rear because he's got a big ass rear swaybar that's stiff as hell. Keeps the drive wheels on the track. Lol.
There's always some axle spoiling a good lap time :) Great footage as usual guys.
