As someone that sets up cars for Motorsport, I can Honestly say that if you just soften up all of your shockers (coil overs/dampeners) your suspension issues will be solved. Effectively your Dampers/Shockers/coil overs were set to way to stiff meaning they had no give what so ever. That's why when you hit the curbs the car launched into the air and when it came back down it would bounce. You may as well of had no dampeners at all and just had solid poles in their place. Drop your coil over stiffness down by 50% as a starting point and go from there. Slick tyres can handle more G force so spring and dampener rates can be stiffer but you always need to factor in the track conditions such as the surface itself.
Big shout out to Austin. Imagine completely blowing apart halfway through the weekend and still sticking around to enjoy what he can of the weekend. Really hope your rebuild goes well.

Not even trying to pretend I know more than anyone, and it seems like you already know, you could use a lot more rebound dampening to keep up with the spring rates. Awesome job on third place though! That’s amazing!
Super proud of the podium for the G&G Team, to see you go from a dude building and taking cars on road trips, to seeing you grab a podium, I think I speak for all of us saying congratulations to you Ben!
Through the video I guess the smaller 15 inch wheels gonna fit better on the tight spring settings, and because of the wheel settings, maybe you should run on the shoulder less than normal.
A lot of people think that going full hard with the shocks and springs is the proper way to set up the suspension. That is actually the exact opposite of what you want to do. The sway bar manages body roll, improving cornering by helping maintain a proper contact patch with the tires, instead the tire rolling onto it's side. The shocks and springs need to be kept relatively soft to maintain proper compliance and constant contact with the road.
That ice cream run - that's what I love and miss about time attack events, at least the few that I've done. I use a 245 on a 15x10.
Also never go full stiff on damper, ew
those are basically the best tires you can run. They dont make wide enough tires or wheels in 15 or 16 inch
@@halkaracing4632 indeed they do. I've ran my miata with 15x10 949 Racing wheels with 275/35/15 Hoosier tires. It gripped really good with that setup too
@@teggsr13 he can't run hoosiers
That save by Peter is mesmerising. Great drive.
My favorite way to start a Saturday. Thank you, Ben and Ben.
Never in my life have I wanted a Honda to win so bad.
Dang it Ben. 😆
Great job man. You did amazing be proud for how you did and knowing theres still more the little Civic can do.
This episode was phenomenal. Really really enjoyed it. Beautiful cinematography. Love watching the Civics journey and yours as a driver. I did my first ever track day 2 weeks ago and already have another booked for next month! Keep up the awesome work.
Andy is so talented diagnosing all the problems it’s like a all in one Track partner.
Spectacular video! Some of your best production yet! Congratulations on your first podium finish sir!
Who else eats breakfast while watching G&G on a Saturday morning? Soooooo glad for the first podium CONGRTS BEN
Living the dream man! I love your guys channel. I’m been loosely following for a couple years and I love it! Keep it up!
This video shows how hard the track racing, especially tweaking the suspension and other issues that will come up during the race. But Mr. Ben managed to ranked 3rd on his class. Congrats to him👏👏👏
Really enjoying watching these Grid Life videos. Well produced and edited, but great content and just plain interesting.
Am I the only one feeling pain in my back while watching those jumps?
Great content! Already waiting for the next video.
You guys should do a video with nightride, they have great Cinematography skills and story progression that follows the same beats that you guys have
Well done Ben
The civic performed really well on the track.
Great video . 3rd placed had the best story. Real experience. Nicely done and congrats on your finish
Top quality video as per usual! Looking forward to seeing a proven suspension setup. That hydro style hopping at 13:11 is wild.
Congrats on P3. This series is awesome. Best of luck on the next events. You're learning a lot.
Thank you. Amazing video. Crazy K24 civic. Great driving. Awesome experience.
Everybody wants someone in their life to take care of you as much as Andy takes care of this Civic.
That civic looks like one of the most enjoyable cars to drive
I spent a weekend chasing Andy Crutcher's gorgeous S13, and you guys capture better beauty shots of that car static on accident... baller work on the cinematography dudes.
the EK battling for 1st and 2nd vs Nismo Zs, mustangs, vettes omg!!!!! Vtech FTW
Super amazing guys, congrats Ben on the first podium that was something else. I honestly felt like I was watching an action movie the whole time.
Ben, I feel like you were fighting some strange chassis harmonics with all that bouncing. I'm still pretty gutted about losing gridlife south here in Atlanta. I was building my R32 for the street time attack as well. If you guys are passing through here I'd love to get your thoughts on it.
Even when I see it's 30 mins long I know you guys content is always worth it
Great Honda and good taste in blizzards, this channel really has it all
I can understand the frustration, but at the end of the day, landing on the podium in 3rd place overall is a pretty cool achievement. Plus, you got to hang out with Larry and have your car featured in a episode of Hoonigan Auto Focus. I'd say thats a double win for sure.
i love what you guys do... really happy to see you guys finally see the views and popularity you deserve!
This legitimately felt like a movie, such incredible work.
Wow, so good, great job, Andy does need a medal, what a legend 👍
