  • Rockshox 35 against a Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate. Is it worth 4 times the price? What is actually inside a £1000 MTB fork? Mat tears down both of them and shows you it all!

Awesome video, specially how you explain the bypass and shims on low speed and high speed.

Don't forget the horrendous bushing slop in the 35 😕 Yes please, an in depth on the damper or dampers in general would be great.

aren't the lyrik's lower legs made from magnesium? 😅

Very good explanation of the liryk damper, but you didn't show the 35 damper internals

Great video! I know suspension should be serviced (rockshox at least) every 50 hours or so, it seems a bit vague to me as I don't know if it's 50 hours on DH, 50 hours on average including slow climbs and if the fork and rear sus both suffer from riding at the same rate (on this 50+- hour service time). I would love to know what are some common signs that your suspension needs a service, mine are currently at my local bike shop and the rear shock (fox float x) was bottoming out really hard with 30% sag on "normal" use and my front fork (RS Zeb) was losing small bump sensibility, I think this topic could make for a great video, have a good one!

A good review, thank you for the time dedicated to it. What makes me ask myself questions is whether the price difference between the two is justified. In particular, if something more machining, a few different parts and a lower weight is justified in a four times higher price. Is the performance also 4x higher? Is a work volume four times greater, materials several times more expensive? Is it something else? Thank you!

Nice video, but I would have liked to see you show the rebound and compression dampers in the 35 as a direct comparison.

What model 35 did you use for this video? You may have mentioned but I'm none the wiser lol
I run one of my bikes with a 35 Gold and the internals are really very different to that which were shown here.
Great video as ever.. thank to all involved

Yea I run 35 Gold and internals different. I think he shows cheaper Silver model. Even price he sayed (£250-£300) shows that its silver. Gold cost around £500.
Gold is much better than Silver. I love mine.

Everyone knows that red cars are faster ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). So it only makes sense for the internals of the expensive fork to be anodized red.

More like 450, I bought my Lyrik ultimate 2023 for £690, the trick is not to buy from the overpriced UK sellers but to import from the EU.

@@mariusreiter9493 true that, fox stuff seems to be much more expensive in the uk but there is deals to be found
