    I feed my saltwater predators all raw food. I feel my fish are very healthy, and I don’t use any company made foods for them. When I feed live fish, shrimp, and crabs I do medicate them for 1 week before I feed but it’s because I buy from LFS stores. With the diet your piranhas get they are just as healthy as wild piranhas. Great video Bearski!! I wish I could own piranhas but they are not allowed in Texas. I look forward to seeing the video saying the piranhas are doing great it didn’t affect them :)

      Get some Pacu, they look similar and one day might change back like they do in the wild when there is limited nuts and vegetation to eat ( saw it on river monsters)

      It’s funny that Texas is known for some of the most chill gun laws and stuff like that, but this fish is illegal. I’m sure they’re worried about people releasing them but still it’s funny

    • @lewsaboy1645
      @lewsaboy1645 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RomanLegion apparently there are more tigers in captivity in Texas than the whole world. And yet piranhas are worse? 😂😂😂

    • @ibelieve96
      @ibelieve96 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lewsaboy it’s because these warm weather southern states are the perfect environment for them to thrive. Up north they would never survive the winter so they are not concerned about people releasing them. Louisiana and Florida are full of invasive species, could you imagine these things taking over southern lakes?

    I've noticed that every time a chub is put in the tank, it's tail/fin is always quickly bitten off by the leader first! I guess that's to incapacitate and slow it down? It's quite trippy to see how the chub then has to move it's entire body to propel itself anywhere..

    Hi Bear. Hope you're doing good today.
    With the way you feed your piranhas, I mean the most natural way(s) you can, I bet they are stronger & healthier than if you fed them with shop brought food. And I dare say happier as well.

  • @karina-oh7826

    Very interesting video, Marek! Jak sie masz, bracie? 😁 It was very cool to see the point of demobilization of the chubb by the nipping off of his tail fin! I could see how he could hardly propel himself efficiently without it. After that, it didn't take long for your hungry ranha's to polish off their dinner. I watched as the pack nipped a chunk of chubb and passed him on to one another in swift, efficient order then, 💥POOF💥, the chubb was history! It was very interesting to see how effectively the entire pack worked together to demolish their prey. Excellent video, moj przyjaciel... 😊

    Red bellied piranhas play an important role as omnivores and opportunistic scavangers. They are also a sign of healthy water. Frenzied feeding does occur in the wild, however red bellies do not engage in "pack feeding" all the time.. All in all they are an important part of our delicate ecosystem.

It was gruesome, all that was left of him was a skeleton with a full head of hair (not edible) and the piranhas hadn't touched his feet because he had sneakers on, what made it worse was the fact his mother was there to identify the body, she was freaking out, I think he actually drowned first before the fish got him, either way it was not nice to see...

    Hey Bearski, I have noticed as I am sure you have that the naturally occurring Red Bellies in the Amazon have a much more vibrant red color to them versus your fish. I wonder what nutrients or other factor are missing in your environment to bring out that color. I can imagine replicating the Amazon ecosystem would be a near impossibility? Very interesting video by the way. I thought you were going to introduce a potential predator as food.

    Yeah we used to have a little pond or a lake what have you in the back of my apartment complex that I lived in when I lived in Wisconsin and oh my goodness used to get all kind of Little critters fish for my piranhas it was to me better nature-wise than going to the pet store and I used to fish with corn kernels to catch they used to jump on that hook man I miss getting stuff like that and feeding piranhas can't do it here in Florida so I'm just reminiscing by looking at your channel and loving your setup and wishing I could have at least one of the setups here but unfortunately illegal Florida sucks when it comes to that they got barracuda sharks and all kind of crazy fish but you can't have piranhas for pets I wouldn't get rid of them and put them in the lake or the ocean I would just take them back to the fish store and just start all over again like I did up north they get so big and get boring I would trade them in for babies and start all over again cuz some people like grown piranhas some like juveniles to me juveniles a little more busy so I like when they're juvenile more exciting it's just like us when we get old we just get lazy juveniles like to investigate everything so to me they're more busier lol I enjoy your channel and enjoy your life feedings very much I used to do the same but I used to have people come over everyone got a kick out of that they're feeding time awesome

    It's not a matter of whether they will eat the diseased food, it's a matter of why take the risk in spreading it to your fish?? Did you know that most aquarium bred fish typically live longer in an aquarium then they do in the wild? Can you guess why that might be???
