At the 10:50 mark, it looks like something came out the mouth of the snake after it drown on the bottom. I have heard and seeing footage of parasites knowing when the host took it last breath and escape the host body very quickly since no oxygen is left in the body. Whatever floated up from the snake was consumed by the little piranha which was amazing to see.

    Hi Bearski.
Watching the piranhas with the snake kind of reminded me of something that I read in a couple of history books at school about old English Kings & Queens.
They used to have official 'food tasters' who would have a mouthful of each food item to show it wasn't poisoned.
Like the kings & queens of old the piranhas seem to take a back seat until the alpha takes a bite & shows them that the prey is in fact safe to consume.
Now I know the Barbarians also do this job for the alpha & the others but it looks like there's a bit of a trust issue going on there lol.
As usual Bear, stay safe out there. Take care 😀👍

Tyrone Catkiller Kang the barbs clean the tank and keep the water from spoiling in addition to their semi-aggressive behavior which proves to give the ranas confidence they so need and utilize during stressful moment like hunting or water changes etc..
The RBP are timid, cautious predators and truly exhibit their natural behavior in larger groups 14 and up.. the barbarians seem to fill in the numbers and create more distraction to better dispel anxiety and stress.. 😉

I love how they share the prey, because when I think about it they have full opportunity to be like a hyena and yet they decide to split the meal almost evenly every time I've seen you feed them
(other than the worms but the worms are small so it can't be helped)

Saba789 tiger barbs are more aggressive and full of confidence while piranhas are decently gentle and stupidly timid and shy. It’s just the right tank mate combo given the size of these 2 fish

I love how Piranhas behave. So ruthless and instantaneous, but they are smart enough to assess the prey first, like all predators they need to assess if its a threat first. Also like the fact they keep close but keep their distance at the same time too. Friends with sharp teeth are dangerous too.

years ago I had nine 6-8" Pirahnas fed them a live locally caught eel, eel was about 12" the Pirahnas were sooo skittish as if they were scare of the eel, when the eel swam towards their side of tank, the pirahnas would all move the to the other side, this went on for about a half hour, finally got tired of waiting for the frenzy and took the eel out

I actually cheered when they finally began to feed, good call on the worms. I wonder tho if they still would have fed when the snake sank without having had the worms. Another thing of natural beauty. What is wrong with TH-cam? They don't have a problem showing animals feeding on national geographic, or animal planet, it's just individual creators. Personally I think it's just so they can keep more of the ad revenue for themselves. In my book that's discrimination and creators should band together and start a class action lawsuit. Once again thank you for sharing! 👀👍

When I feed (frozen thawed mice) my kingsnake, I place an x-large moving blanket over my pool table and use 47" tongs. I make him work for it but keep it real. It's only to arouse and help maintain his natural prey drive. He'll eat a frozen thawed if I place it for him but not with much interest- almost as if he's trying to find it's expiration date before crossing the Rubicon 😄
