  • The problem wasn’t with the food source.. it was a filtration malfunction and the oxygen level dropped significantly during the hunt, in turn I have changed the water couple more times over the night and fixed the canister pump.

    Amazing video! I used to study baby, juvenile, and adult piranhas feeding…. Have you noticed there’s an order? The larger and if same size, more dominant fish go first while the others wait. Then one by one they take their turns. If you have adults with juveniles, the juveniles will wait close by for the adults to all get their turns. Then the adults switch places with the juveniles one by one as they feed. Very interesting and kind of beautiful if you think of how organized their packs can be. Love the video my friend.

    After you catch the fish you should put it in a qarantine tank for a minimum of three days and hospitalize them , put aquarium salt and medication and feed tjem some good flake food , and I can pretty much guarantee that will never happen again .... What kind of filtration do your tanks have ?? Also suggest a strong wave maker , piranhas love swimming in the current , i can send you a video of mine , absolutely love the exercise , makes for a much happier fish , the wave maker also helps for tje filtration too ... This is similarly simulates what happens when people let go of ‘pets’ in areas they would be considered to be ‘invasive.’ The native species have no real defense for the shock of the sudden introduction to a new predator, the native species finds itself in more and more flight or fight situations until their numbers are easily decimated and drastically reduced. Without the sudden introduction it wouldn’t be a shock as it takes lots of time for nature to overlap and acclimate to natural changes in the conditions of the environment. Humans tend to not respect this or act as if completely oblivious due to their lack of awareness.
    Could you imagine blue gill, bass, gar, and red belly piranha acclimating to one another naturally in the wild and what impact that would have on them from their defense mechanisms to how they how hunt, hide, and even how they look? Bluegill would undoubtedly have to become tougher more aggressive fish to not be hunted into total extinction.

      Most likely the brain and central nervous system is still active. This animal most likely is aware of what happened, what is going on, and has some type of pain response yet it no longer has a body so there it lays until it's eventual death.
      An animal ripped from its wild habitat and shucked into a cage without a chance for escape aurrounded by a large number of bred for captivity predators trying to murder it. No wonder this world is screwed when there are "higher beings" who find this entertaining and somehow justified. Wake up!

    • @xcmhx
      @xcmhx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How exactly do you know what another animal "feels"? Based on someone else's studies or science? You'll never really know. That is the only truth. You regurgitate information you've read or seen but you don't know for sure. Not yet anyway.
      So when you are trapped in basement by another human being and they cut off your head and you watch them and others feed on your body only then will you know for sure. I for one do not want any part of that moment or experience and would not wish it on any other living creature.
      This animal was trapped, not naturally, by a human in a small glass box. That is unnatural. Nature doesn't put itself in a box with no escape option. In the wild this bluegill would never encounter pirhana and it may outlive all other predators around it including pike because in its genes may be a great ability to avoid predation. It may have lived to die of old age having bred thousands of times but its life was cut miserably short by a neanderthal looking to entertain itself for 5 minutes watching a creature suffer while trapped in a mechanically produced death trap.
      I'm all for survival of the fittest but in this situation there is no chance at all and everything has been fabricated. If you were put in this "natural" situation and mauled by cannibals I don't believe you would feel anything natural about it.

    • @xcmhx
      @xcmhx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want to put yourself on a pedestal above all other creations and look at yourself from an outside view. You think in the most logical way yet you seem to fail to understand that even for the mighty "you" one day the curtains will close on your theatre. This experience that is your life will end in some time and you alone get to experience your own death. It may happen suddenly when you are walking down the street and get struck by a fast moving wayward object that destroys your brain in an instant. One minute you are here with your feelings, thoughts, and memories and then in an instant it will all be gone for you. Like turning off a television forever. It may happen as you lay in a bed gasping for air alone in a hospital room as your lungs fail you. Maybe someone rushes to your side but there will be no way back for you. There is no rewind, no save, no re-do. All your choices and decisions will have led you to that moment of your demise.
      My point is that we should all respect life. Let nature do what nature does... in nature! If we interject our control over life we are playing God and tampering with powers out of our comprehension. Life is precious. As far as we know we only get one. We are given great power over other living things but that comes with great responsibility. You've surely heard all of this before but yet you don't understand.
      Go visit a live volcano. Take a trip outside the atmosphere. Go deep sea diving. This world is more beautiful and powerful than us yet we continue to try and find ways to destroy it bit by bit all while rationalizing our bad behavior.
      I really hope you take the time to ponder on all of this. If you are an attractive young woman you are blessed but you should be careful in this world. There are enough people out there jealous of life's beauty who wish to see it obliterated. Don't join in with that crowd because it seems cool or logical. Follow your heart and respect all forms of life and may your life end peacefully when you are prepared for it.

      Nature is harsh and indiscriminate.. hunting provides physiological and behavioral development,.

      This isn't hunting! There's no chance for this animal to escape it is just trapped. Have at least some respect for life and living things. That animal went through complete misery and it was brought on by your unnatural actions. In the wild that animal could have escaped but your small little glass box prevented that. I seen absolutely nothing natural here.
