at 16:33 that is exactly how I like to animate most of the time. I would animate for example the head and then allow the neck to follow along to what the head does. I started doing this because I found that it was way to difficult to animate everything at once.
The thing is animating like this is not right, I know it's harder to animate everything at once but its because its harder that the result is that good. To make a good animation, the character, the animation must fell like a whole thing, and by separating and breaking up every parts of the body, it feels robotic, less natural. However it's a nice approach when you begin in animation, you have to sometimes break things up to understand those but ultimately for every person that would like to become good in animation, you have to consider the animation, the character, as a whole thing, and draw every frame without manipulating things. Traditionnal animators could not do that back in the day (and japanese animator still works on paper for the keys) that's why most of the incredible animations we got are pre-numeric era :)
@@faladorn2421 Thanks for the kind feedback. I agree that animating the character must be the entire character. And after some time animating separate body parts. It's very difficult to get every single part of the body to be natural while when animating the whole character you can see the idea of the what the character does before your eyes. Though, there are a lot of factors for why I chose to animate that way one being that I lack experience with the human anatomy. I need a lot more practice with that.
This could be a trick to reduce a problem in smaller problems but also could be a reflection of real life motion, I mean, we don't move every part of our bodies consciously, most of the times the head and the hands are "leading" (the brain is leading) and the body resolves the motion by itself. One day biking I've noticed while my hands do little adjustments to the handle, the rest of the arm was doing the weirdest motion, I didn't "instruct" the arm to do that, just the hands. I think this technique can mimic that.
Wait wait wait hahah...Are you kidding? I was listening to Jai Paul's music throughout the whole reading of Evangelion - There is no better fit for the Manga/anime, holy cow...Glad I clicked on this video haha
Hello! Can I ask you where did you get that kinda glove u use? I'd like to buy one because i use to animate a lot and my hand tends to glue to the tablet sometimes xD
dude can u plzz make a video on animating a scene i know u have made one but can u make a precised one covering all topics nd some extra tips start to finish from actionscript to exporting plzzzz man nd yes ur animations r awesome
CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE MOVIE THO?! All joking aside, excelent video dude! I finished Evangelion and the movie just a week ago and loved everything about it, but the animation in the movie certainly excels!
yeah I was kinda lost with the story at some points too. Probably because I hadn't watched the series and i'm kinda slow at reading subtitles. Thanks for the comment!
These are really nice videos, it's a great way to learn and remember these techniques. I hope you analyze more great animations in the future!
You're doing a great job! Great insight and analysis! Don't stop doing what you are doing!

@@GodofWar1515 Yep it always come back to the simple notion of drawing, observation and a lot drawing.

That guy was missed in the rebuild movies.
Is there a recommended software for the playback of the animation?

pls do a break down study for Fate stay night
such motion skin kinetics and effects must be understood

I got it from here. They might not make them anymore, send them an email and they might make one for you
8:00 it has nothing to do with mass because I doubt that air friction has a meaning here. Probably just the initial spin
Otherwise spot on analysis!
