    Quick question. You mention to stay away from oversaturated and extremely undersaturated genres. How do we quantify that? Is there a number of songs that would be considered oversaturated or undersaturated? How to measure it?

    Thanks Jesse. Awesome and complete as always. I have a specific question though. When you’re sending a solicitation email to a library for the first time, do you link to a SoundCloud page with all of your titles, or do you pick 2-3 best songs in genres that relate to them as a separate, private upload?

    Thanks for sharing this! Just a couple of questions left: this video has been shared almost 2 years ago; right now in 2022, would you suggest increasing the timeline for waiting for the library response, or do we need to stick to the same formula: submission - 1-2 weeks waiting for a reply - follow up - 1 more week of waiting before moving to another library? And the second question, if the library did not reply anything to your first submission, would you suggest reaching them again after some time with another album? Thanks in advance!

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would still use the same approach and timelines now in 2022. You can try to submit a new album to a Library that didn't reply. but I don't it would be my first choice. I would instead try a new company.

  • @rishhadkothawala

    This was really useful Jesse, thanks! Even though I've been reaching out to libraries for some time now, there're some really great tips in here to better manage my submissions and really harpoon future attempts. I'd just like your opinion on this... There're alot of cinematic libraries out there that simply DO NOT list any submission or contact info for composers, would you recommend going ahead and contacting them by whatever email address is provided? I wouldn't want to spam or have my work seem unsolicited.

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's always a gamble with Libraries that don't have a "Composers submit here" option, but yes I think it's worth submitting (if your music is licensable and useful for them, they will consider bringing you on board).

    can you do multiple versions of the same piece of music? so to provide different sound or mix of the music to a potential client? or do you have to provide individual tracks of the music so they can tweak the production/sound?
    can you make say a basslne that gets picked up for use on hip-hop track?

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some Libraries will want various versions of your tracks and yes you will also likely need to provide the individual tracks alongside the master mix.

    When you say have a full album, should it NOT be on the streaming platforms?

    • @SyncMyMusic

      For exclusive Libraries they may or may not have an issue with your tracks also being distributed on streaming platforms. You just need to ask them when you submit to them.

    Is there a distinction between stock music like pond 5 and audiojungle, and libraries that offer licenses for film and tv? Do the latter give you more creative freedom as opposed to sticking to one production style?

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First thank you for all the amazing advice and tools. I have a question when a library accepts your songs. Does that mean you are in contract with them to produce more songs for them ? What’s the average amount of tracks you need to provide to them per month or year ?

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes a Library will usually want you to continuously supply them with new tracks. I'd say a healthy rate would be 10-12 tracks per month, but every Library and composer will work at different paces.

    Jesse, I am retired but still produce 2 or 3 albums a year. Is there any path for me in the business of submitting to music libraries if I only produce full songs with vocals, not instrumentals or orchestral music? They say do what you are good at, and that is what I am good at. Also, can you still sell your own music on your own website and/or Distrokid with some non exclusive libraries? BTW, your videos are excellent.

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can certainly get your foot in the door with a few albums per year, but your timeline might be a bit longer that usual (I recommend my students shoot for producing 10-12 albums per year).
