    Hey Jesse , always great stuff ;) Quick question for you or anyone who has experience with Sentric Music. I joined their sight last year thinking they were a music library, which in part maybe they are but they appear to be more of a publishing company ? IS there really a difference ? Thanks

    Thanks Jesse. I didn’t know that libraries are responsible for registering your tracks with the PRO. So does that mean they will incur the cost to register the music then?

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no cost to register tracks with ASCAP/BMI, but yes they will incur the "cost" of the time and effort it takes to do this.

    Hey man! Really thanks for these tutorials. I've signed up on BMI from Asia (Foreign) and got accepted. So now I'm registering my tracks I've soon to upload in libraries. One question though, do I need to register Alternative/Time edits as separate titles, or register them as alternative title in the dropdown of the main track? Huge thanks!

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My question is, why are you registering your tracks before you get them accepted by a Library? The Library will normally always handle that for you.

    Can someone clarify? If I release a solo project, can I repurpose that song to a sync library? This video talks about letting the Sync library register them with a PRO. Obviously if Im releasing music I do that so does that answer the question of repurposing? I sure hope not.

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can, but a Library might require that you take down your music from public streaming sites if they exclusively represent your music.

    Hey Jessie, finishing making my website and under my "work" tab I don't have any sync related accomplishments or awards to include as I am brand new to this field. What would you recommend I include if im just starting out?

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just don't include it. Instead put the focus on your album that you're shopping. A high quality product will trump previous accomplishments any day.

    I have a question.
    I am a music producer/songwriter who is working with artists and releasing songs with me as a producer or as an artist (I currently use distrokid for distributing my music)
    I also want to get into sync licensing. I had approached an artist to collaborate with and she wants to work on a song for sync on TV Film. I would need to register with a PRO (with your suggestion, BMI) to collect sync royalties. My question is that - Now that I am working in two industries, would collecting royalties on songs from a distributor (like Distrokid) and BMI cause any complications? I definitely will not be releasing the songs that I'll be submitting for sync purposes. Thanks in Advance.

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope! If you're making new, unique tracks for Sync Libraries, there is no conflcts with the other income/work you're doing through Distrokid.

      @@SyncMyMusic In contrast, if I have a song released on CDBaby, for instance, does CDBaby need to be involved with my sync license for the song?

    • @SyncMyMusic
      @SyncMyMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GregoryGuay Only if you have them as your publisher. If not, they don't have any say in what you do with your music.

      @GregoryGuay 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SyncMyMusic I do have them as Publishing Admin under my Pro account. I"m working on a sync agreement for song #1 that is already with CDBaby, although I may modify/add an instrument to it and song #2 that is new and not associated w/ CDBaby at all (yet).

    15:12 24 hours to produce, mix and master a pro quality, full-length track with edits? I don't understand how people can do that realistically, unless it is very sparse with tracks.
