My grandparents had two pomegranate trees. My grandmother taught me to do this very same thing more than 65 years ago. I've told several people and they are always amazed at how well it works.

Hi Kirb - I understand! Pomegranates come in many, many variaties and are seasonal. Where are you geographically? Here in California, the best months for pomegranates are September and October although I still get lucky in December and find some good poms :)
@@ovenhug3803 hey thank you for the reply! Outside of Houston. I'm serious, I have been to 4 top named grocery stores, even Whole Foods but you just don't know what you're getting until you get home. I'm even thinking of planting a few trees in the backyard. My wife laughs at me because of how much I love pomegranate lol. They must be great out there. Hope all is well with you.
@@kirbharp2157 Oh really? Texas? Hmm, maybe pom trees would do well out there - I have no idea. I do know that my mom in laws pom tree did extremely well this last season. She nursed that tree and it produced about 25 huge beautiful poms! I hope you go for it and plant one soon. If so report back on the fruits of your labor!! - cheers

yes, I tested on 3-4 pomegranates and its going quit quick! Maybe 2 min.
