Dude, I've just watched heaps of how-to de-seed/eat a pomegranate videos on here and this one is by far the coolest and most informative. Thanks!

Wow, I thought I new everything about cutting fruit, especially fruits like pineapple, kiwis & mangos! Pomegranates are one of my favorite fruits, but we always just take 'em outside to eat because they are so messy. This is a new technique and awesome! Thanks, Producer Picker!!!

This worked like a charm. No mess in the kitchen and the seeds came out and fell to the bottom of the bowl, just as you said.

Thanks! before putting through strainer, as the pith is floating in the water, you could pour it off before hitting the strainer. This would eliminate another cleaning.

Thank you so much for this informative video! Watcing this before I ever tried to open a pomegranate saved me a lot of trouble and juice stains. The only downside to this method is that any punctured pomegranate seeds get soggy and lose their taste. But otherwise great! Thanks

I tried the underwater method this morning and it worked great. I still hate peeling them though, I want that goodness in me faster! One thing I did before pouring them into the strainer/colander was to pour some of the water into the sink so the floaty stuff poured out instead of with the seeds. Less of it to pick out later. Thanks for the video.

Woo! I just watched this and then opened my pomegranate. Very helpful, although I didn't put it into water... I just kind of popped all the seeds off by breaking up the membrane. I also exploded quite a few of them all over my shirt, arms, counter, floor, under the cabinets, and stained my cutting board. I'm eatin' pomegranate now... but I should've used your water technique! CHEERS!

Pro tip, instead of using a strainer to remove the white part you can actually add more water to the bowl after you are done breaking the pom apart. as the bowl overflows the white part will flow away with it

    Hi zztopis,
You eat just the seeds. It's actually the juice sac that surrounds the seed that you want to eat but you can just pop the entire seed into your mouth and eat it. There should be more about this question in the other comments as well. Thanks!

Sorry to sound ignorant, but I had no idea that it was the seeds you eat! Not similar to the grape, watermelon, orange :-) I just assumed it was the skin. I'd like to try it now because of your podcast. Thanx.

I'm going to do one of these types of videos on how to eat an apple:
Step 1 - wash the apple
Step 2 - use your teeth to remove sections from the core
Step 3 - continue until you are only holding an apple core
Step 4 - dispose of core
Optional step - watch people get 1/10th of the way through peeling a pomegranate as you eat the entire apple.
    ;)

agree with 1983Jacko...too complicated. just cut it into 4, have a bowl underneath the quarter that you are taking the seeds from for them to fall into and throw the pith into the trash/sink.

  • @ratcrib
    @ratcrib 12 ปีที่แล้ว

@RVO174 no. chew them and swallow. it's safe and it helps with intestine circulation. all animals are supposed to eat seeds and poop them out. that's what they are for, actually.

water lets the pith easily float up so you can skim it off if the seeds are all you're interested in. If you want the juice then you wouldn't use the water. Thanks for watching.

i am sad to say i dont use the water trick, it minimizes the amount of hand room, so you can break chunks off. i also do sections so i have organization...but mostly i fill a bowl with water after i get all the seeds in and wash em up. then i eat them while watching tv or whatever... THEY ARE DELICIOUS
