Really enjoyed watching this bmw series. For the knockoff exhaust, there is a hole for the db-killer, you need to put a bolt in there for that weird sound to disappear.
You’re about 1000x more skilled than I am so, it’s fun watching you struggle with aftermarket parts and fitment like I do. I’m not the only one it seems that buys parts online, sometimes cheaper knockoffs, I won’t lie, but struggles to get just about everything fit - even the named brand stuff! I installed some Tourtech crash bars on my 09 1200Gs and man those were a pain. Keep up the great work! I’ll be with you all the way.
Appreciate your kind words! Aftermarket stuff in general is usually finnicky. I've installed some really expensive aftermarket parts before on other things and still had to do slight modifications.
I know I'm a bit late to this video but I love this channel is super rare you find someone build something and then actually use it long term and not just for 2 minutes for a you tube video

The Later one was water cooled and called a LC. Didn't have the weird little side light under the main beam light. The headlight on the LC was almost always a LED unit anyway unless the owner really cheaped out. The TE had it as standard and most R1200GS were TE spec.

Nice! Love those budget builds with a bit of tinkering. I'd go for a satin finish on those brackets and panier supports since it hides all the imperfections better. Still waiting for the harpic trick on those exhausts. I think it'll make a very nice before and after for the vid, and it fits the budget appeal. Looking forward to the next one! Cheers!

That exhaust can be made to behave a lot better if you remove the baffle, wrap it in fibreglass insulation using metal zip ties to keep it in place and then bolt it back in. You can fine tune it by seeing how it sounds eith all the holes in the baffle covered or a few left free-breathing.
I recall doing my R1100RS years ago using cheap alternatives service parts. Once I put in UPS battery in it. I made my own oil manometer for TB balancing, its only 12 inches tall and very accurate.
This is the first video I've seen from you. I absolutely despise Temu's business practice, but this video was super interesting. I wonder how much it would have cost, to have all these upgrades from reputable brands.
I disagree with many of the practices that are going on within China and the products that are produced. The thing I despise more, are companies that produce their products in China for pennies on the dollar and then mark it up for hundreds of dollars for consumers. 100% and up profit margins are just greedy and ridiculous.
Really good video showing that by using your nugget you can save a ton of money, but I would have gone for soft luggage. Well done to you, I hope you have many happy mile on her
I love what you're doing here!! I mod loads of bikes and, like you, have discovered it's best not to buy crappy protection bars or spotlights. If you do serious off-road, shell out for some barkbusters. But for the rest, Givi are great value and will last longer than a lot of the Chinese stuff. Not sure about that shonky exhaust...!!
Appreciate the input! I am starting to appreciate the more expensive gear the more I ride with the cheap stuff! I have never heard the word shonky and will be adding it to my vocabulary now lol
