9:45 About a decade ago a bike magazine wanted to test real-world bike security and those chose to actually go out and steal people's bikes. This one guy, they parked their van outside his house, walked up the driveway, broke into the garage, lifted the bike out, with the alarm sounding off, manhandled it down the drive, chucked it in the back of their van and drove off with it. And then they went and knocked on the door to tell him they'd nicked his bike. Not only did he not notice it had happened... his kid had watched them do it out the window, but had assumed they were allowed and were taking it to the place for a service or something.
That alarm is the one I use for bicycles. I have found it of value and quality. Has full size cells in it, not buttons in the main unit. Hackable with code readers like most remotes, I assume. Would be good on toolboxes, parked luggage, power tools, doors and other easily moved items that need an alert. Thanks for the review.
@@johnengland8619 I bought a disc lock with an alarm in it, but once i realised how it could be cut off quickly on the street, I hid it under the seat. Acts just like a movement alarm with a key.
That front/rear camera might not be any kind of replacement for a real action camera, but I could see it being good as a dash camera type thing if you wanted to have video footage in the event of an accident, but you didn't want to strap a camera to your helmet.
I do in fact strap a camera to my head as a dash cam, except usually I don't because it's a huge pain. If this was waterproof and automatically overwrote old files, then it would be a done deal. Sadly motorcycle dash cams don't seem to be a thing.
I actually bought a helmet a while ago that advertised Bluetooth and after it arrived, I realized you had to specifically request it lol. So I bought the Bluetooth speaker and microphone he used in the video and have been using it ever since. It's been maybe 5 months now. These damn things last forever, speaker's are nice and the mic is nice, although I lost the muffler on the mic so it's all windy now lol. The speakers work great and they last forever. I tell you I drove my bike to work once and accidentally left the speakers on. 6 hours later, I drive home and they're still playing music. It told me the battery was only half after that lol. It tells you the battery level when you turn it on
I’ve got one of those alarms fitted on my Honda Zoomer (Ruckus). It’s actually quite useful if you stop outside a shop and there’s nothing to chain your bike too.
Just had a thought about the brake light. If you come off your bike, heaven forbid, and are upside down the red and blue flashing light would actually help 🤔
Some of these types of lights have a phone home feature should you encounter a situation like you mention. They will BT to your phone and send a message or call people you place on an emergency contact list.
@@appa561 I know a number of motorcycle gps devices have emergency text message systems that send a preset message to your chosen phone number when it detects a crash. The downside is that you have to buy a several hundred dollar gps so most people won't buy one.
Got a similar headset, but speakers were a bit too thick so took it apart to make some thinner enclosures. Turns out that's not possible because the side with the mic boom contains all of the electronics behind the speaker while the other side has a battery. Interesting way to fit everything in such a small package.
That helmet light is also available for bicycles in solid red, which works perfectly fine. I've also seen them in yellow-red-yellow with a turn signal feature, which I believe has a remote you can mount on the handlebars. I've got the alarm as disc brake lock for about the same price.
I like how they used the Amazon purchased bike for the Amazon purchased products :)

You should be able to get data only SIM card for your existing plans. Those don't really cost much more extra, can't make calls and are intended to use other devices on your plan. That's somewhat common for tablets with cellular internet accessibility (like Surface Pro 7+).
Yeah I think one that just is red, bright red or off is all they need to do. Also should have a sensor to attach to brake lever so it goes on during braking and only braking. Great idea and tbh could save lives I mean being hit by a car on a bike is pretty big statistic in motorcycle related deaths.
In the UK, lights on the rider aren't legal for on-road use - it's because the rider could move and show the wrong colour. That said, laws can be made to change - so having a viable system to give motorcyclists high-level brake lights would enable equality with car drivers.
There IS a helmet light that is connected to the brake light that some guys made, even had on Shark Tank, that I believe is legal, and only has red. Also much brighter. Only downside, HEAVY.
I've considered something like that toe protector. I ride to and from work fairly often wearing my work boots which had to be kept nice and polished. It was only recently that we were cleared to wear other types of boots that don't need to be polished, but i still like to try to keep my boots looking nice.
I was actually thinking the same thing. I don’t see how it’s stupid when it’ll keep the tip of your shoes clean. Not everyone wears motorcycle boots with ever outfit.
I actually have the little $17 alarm! I installed it behind my licence plate so it sounds pretty loud and is quite sensitive. I have little ghekos that live in my bike shed and they set it off when they jump onto the bike 🤣 It's a good little alarm that when you combine it with all my locks and the shed makes it a little more of a nuisance for a thief to want to deal with.
The little GPS unit is great for countries where you can get a cell plan for $10 a month (ie Asia), otherwise useless in countries where you need to pay $50 a month. Mind you, if you already have a cell plan, some companies will give you a secondary data plan (for your tablet) for $10 more in North America.
You can in the US as well, my phone bill is about $10/month (actually I think its $100/year, which is slightly less). When you're spending the near $60/month that guy was thinking its for something like 30 GB of hotspot tethering plus 35 GB of 4g phone data (afterwards becomes really slow but you could check emails still), with unlimited calling and text. I had to do that when I was out where no real internet service was, using my phone like home internet since that was pretty much the cheapest I could get anything reasonable. You can also do what the feds do and clone your sim card (however since the NSA taps and records everyone's phone in the US, they probably don't clone sims anymore since there is no need), but then you have a copy of your sim without needing to pay extra if you already have a cell phone.
There's a much better version of that helmet brake light. I think it's called Brake Free. It's more expensive than the one you guys bought on Amazon, but it seems to be a good product.
I’ve used Brake free for the last year. I find that people stay further back from me. When you get off the throttle and slow down it lights up letting people know you are slowing down even though your brake light wasn’t actuated. This makes you safer!
i have a bicycle laser projector when i slow or stop it projects red lines on the road no where near enough but it's something. Still working on wiring up a full street legal lighting kit to my sur-ron its a pain in the ass
Brake Free is amazing! People stay farther away and I’ve found that it annoys people because of how bright it is. I’ve had brights flashed at me and flicked off but hey it’s doing it’s job they noticed me.
The shoe cover was always a great idea. I like being decked out in riding gear as much as the next guy but sometimes you ditch the boots and go casual. Tire pressure monitors are a waste on a bike imho because you'll feel the difference immediately.
Thanks Sean and Craig. That was a pretty fun episode. I kinda like the TPMS. Wouldn't be bad to check pressures before you ride. The stems on my bike are kinda hard to get to so this might be helpful.
We have had the motorcycle alarm with the remote on our Honda shadow for at least 2+ years. It's so easy to set up. Its barley visible to the naked eye unless you are specifically look for it and its zip ties holding it to the frame. The batteries are easy to change in both the remote and sensor itself. Just a word of advice. Put it on your bike where the actual frame itself gets touched the most. We have had times of forgetting the sensor is on but it doesn't sense our movement until we are on and driving away. It's all about the right placement and this will be the best 20$ you've ever spent. Worked in Los Angeles and works here in rainy Oregon.
About the tracking one, you dont have to spend that much on a phone plan, just with a basic phone plan that you pay just for what you use or add lets say 10$ prepaid and add more $ if you ran out, and those things would use data only while you are using the app/tracker
600 bucks? It's made for an entirely different market then. Here in India data-only for a year would work out to ~20 bucks. It must be a lot cheaper in China I must imagine.
Yeah that number would be accurate for a full-fledged phone plan in America but you can add a line to your existing plan for fairly cheap or do some sort of prepaid cheaper deal to I'm sure.
They're either lying or stupid. Buy a prepaid SIM card, costs 10 bucks, then charge it up with another 10 bucks and you're pretty much done for the decade. The device needs about 2-5MB of data, which is incredibly cheap...
@@grumblez But this behavior is actually harmful to a business, you can't just lie about stuff and publish it on the internet while earning money with it.

@@mrbmp09 it happens, especially when they're older. Even the real long ones that are like 2 or 3 inches intended for steel car wheels with hubcaps will fail with time from the bending force... Had it happen to me! Only wheel with a long valve stem and it snapped off one day on the highway!

I bought a non-Bluetooth, Brake Free helmet. While riding in light rain down town, a utility man in a van pulled up to me at a light and said how the extra lights made me much more noticeable in traffic.
There are dedicated cellular services available that are much cheaper, you can find them around 12-23 bucks a month, I've heard of as low as 6 bucks but that was a long tie ago. May be a solution to the GPS unit for some people who liked the idea but thought the cost of service was too high.

Worked wonderfully, except for the looks and comments it garnered at the the local biker bar.

It would have been nice if they made some provision for silent arming, sometimes you don't want to broadcast the presence of the alarm or disturb everyone.
Honestly, thanks reviewing the alarm. I picked up a two pack for $40 for my eBikes (hold your laughs), I never felt like just chaining it up was quite enough and couldn't think of another layer of security that would make me feel safer when I run in the store or wherever I'm parked.
The best alarm sound would be, “I’m being stolen! Help! The Yamaha bike! I’m being stolen! Call the po-po!” 😂
This needs to be a regular series. At least every couple of months.
Been using that exact Bluetooth headset for over a year and it works great. The battery lasts a really long time so I only have to charge it every few months. I use it primarily for music. For the price, you can’t beat it!

The helmet brake light thing is the knockoff of a very good product actually, which was actually initially launched on Shark Tank. (Looks like this one works pretty well, and MUCH lower cost)
Nolan helmets have a similar product that hooks into the battery for their proprietary comms unit.
Yes, it's called a Brake Free light. My girlfriend bought me it as a present and it works great. I haven't had any problems with people getting too close.
My Shark Skwal i3 got something like this
The bike alarm isn't too bad, have the same one. The amount of settings with it for the price is pretty good. Only problem that I noticed is battery life with the triple A's. You'll have to replace batteries every two months or so if you use your bike frequently. In my case I have it mounted under the seat with the provided zip ties, so I also have to cut the ties each time to replace the batteries.
I learned to ride motorcycles in Indonesia. Where literally everyone wears sandals everywhere. You wear sandals to weddings in Indonesia. So my first five years of riding were all in sandals. Not once did I consider buying a stupid little foot thong for shifting. You can shift just fine without messing your feet up.
The reason you shouldn't ride without shoes on is because if you crash you won't have a foot anymore. But that's a different story.
Yep, dress for the slide not for the ride.
Yeah need to make sure we can survive a crash and a few seconds of slide l.
Based. I'm from Northern Europe and my favorite riding gear is T-shirt, shorts and sandals!
Those foot things are to protect your shoes so they don't scuff or scratch, if you don't care about your shoes or lack of thereof it isn't necessary
@@hectorcorona9536 my first thought was: great thing if you take a two wheeler as a commute to a party. But the Italians took care of that by making the vespas with gear selectors on the left grip instead of left foot…
Considering a GoPro is 10 times more, it looked like the front/rear camera is decent. Would show enough to show getting cut off or rear ended or cause of dumping a bike for insurance purposes...
thats what i thought
The one day i didnt put my bulky old go pro on my helmet is the day i got hit, if i had this it would have been no questions asked on what happened
@@dmritchie3 from a road psychology pov, the go pro is a warning to car drivers that they could be being recorded and so should make them more careful. That's a major advantage of the helmet mount and a slight disadvantage of this more covert type of surveillance. Hope you came out of the accident OK.
@@adriancronin533 That's a great point.I sometimes ride with my camera off too,and people really do act better if they think they're recorded.I also turn it to the floor, when going into a service station, etc. so nobody will complain.I think I'll look for that camera as just a chest or helmet cam won't show from behind.Good extra mirror?.
@@bryduhbikeguy I'm thinking a top mounted helmet cam is a flag to car drivers front and back. How do they know which direction its recording. Just my opinion. I'd have it recording the back...and the front back cam is cheap enough to cover any other accidents.. Yes the rear view idea is good 👍👍
Should definitely be a new series. Do one on all the Amazon hard bags or all the different Amazon audio options

I'm thinking of something similar for my motor scooter
@@johnengland8619 I bought a disc lock with an alarm in it, but once i realised how it could be cut off quickly on the street, I hid it under the seat. Acts just like a movement alarm with a key.
That front/rear camera might not be any kind of replacement for a real action camera, but I could see it being good as a dash camera type thing if you wanted to have video footage in the event of an accident, but you didn't want to strap a camera to your helmet.
This
I do in fact strap a camera to my head as a dash cam, except usually I don't because it's a huge pain.
It tells you the battery level when you turn it on
That "boot protector" is actually a reconditioned Chinese ball sling.
PA guy here. Really like that you incorporate the word into every vid. I love bikes and Jesus too!
I’ve got one of those alarms fitted on my Honda Zoomer (Ruckus). It’s actually quite useful if you stop outside a shop and there’s nothing to chain your bike too.
Thanks for sharing
I have those cheap Bluetooth headsets and they work surprisingly well. Still using it even after 2 years.
can you give me a link for buy them plz?
How long does the battery last?
Just had a thought about the brake light. If you come off your bike, heaven forbid, and are upside down the red and blue flashing light would actually help 🤔
Some of these types of lights have a phone home feature should you encounter a situation like you mention. They will BT to your phone and send a message or call people you place on an emergency contact list.
@@appa561 I know a number of motorcycle gps devices have emergency text message systems that send a preset message to your chosen phone number when it detects a crash. The downside is that you have to buy a several hundred dollar gps so most people won't buy one.
The dashcam one looks surprisingly useful, and I've seen ones with 1080p cameras that have actual useful footage where you can read license plates.
8:32 “some type of hat” that is a sun and cloud my guy 🤠
I’ve been thinking about getting a valve stem tire pressure monitor. Looked like it was working ok. Thanks for testing out the products.
I've got it and works great
Got a similar headset, but speakers were a bit too thick so took it apart to make some thinner enclosures.
The helmet light is a very good idea, I think some companies have that without the blue and red lol but I quite like it
Yeah I think one that just is red, bright red or off is all they need to do. Also should have a sensor to attach to brake lever so it goes on during braking and only braking. Great idea and tbh could save lives I mean being hit by a car on a bike is pretty big statistic in motorcycle related deaths.
Cruiseman Garage tested one that is twice as big, more expensive too…
@Prof. Weed I didn't understand what the Bluetooth requirement was. If it's just a sensor in the unit, why does it need Bluetooth?
In the UK, lights on the rider aren't legal for on-road use - it's because the rider could move and show the wrong colour. That said, laws can be made to change - so having a viable system to give motorcyclists high-level brake lights would enable equality with car drivers.
There IS a helmet light that is connected to the brake light that some guys made, even had on Shark Tank, that I believe is legal, and only has red. Also much brighter. Only downside, HEAVY.
Loving this content. My wife did zero research and purchased gifts, “stupid accessories” that no one should buy.
It’s the thought that counts
I've considered something like that toe protector. I ride to and from work fairly often wearing my work boots which had to be kept nice and polished. It was only recently that we were cleared to wear other types of boots that don't need to be polished, but i still like to try to keep my boots looking nice.
Jesus dont say that. The ATGATT people are listening.
I have little ghekos that live in my bike shed and they set it off when they jump onto the bike 🤣
It's a good little alarm that when you combine it with all my locks and the shed makes it a little more of a nuisance for a thief to want to deal with.
Helmet brake light makes a lot of sense with all the three storey high pickup truck grilles these days
Not gonna lie I like the alarme as well lol way better than cutting wires on your bike to install an alarm system
I saw your Video and bought the Motorcycle Alarm. I think it is a very useful Gadget.
Greetings from Germany 🖐
Cool 👍
I'm using that cheap alarm for my electric cycle and is very useful and super loud!
Your GPS did not work because the device was 2G only. In USA they turned off 2G for a while. So, if you get a tracker, get at least a 4G.
There's a much better version of that helmet brake light. I think it's called Brake Free. It's more expensive than the one you guys bought on Amazon, but it seems to be a good product.
Hey that's what I was commenting on someone else's comment - just forgot the name.
Yeah it has truning lights aswell. But thats just the helmet mate its cool 😎 I'm getting it for my sur-ron lbx which doesn't have brake lights
As a daily rider, I can confirm, you can already feel 0.2 Bar of pressure change on the tires.
@@aril.3674 When you get the pressure gauge to confirm you're not freaking out XD
Agreed.. has this guy never gone to a party on his bike?
I don't want to wear boots everywhere i goes 😤
Thanks Sean and Craig. That was a pretty fun episode. I kinda like the TPMS. Wouldn't be bad to check pressures before you ride. The stems on my bike are kinda hard to get to so this might be helpful.
He cut that short, I liked the ones I had till they wouldn't pair with the receiver after about a year and the batteries were a pain to replace
I had a front valve stem fail on me and my TPS warned me I was losing air so I could stop it in time
We have had the motorcycle alarm with the remote on our Honda shadow for at least 2+ years.
@@grumblez Right. The add-ons should work out a lot cheaper. Ahhh yes, I was referencing a prepaid plan.
They're either lying or stupid. Buy a prepaid SIM card, costs 10 bucks, then charge it up with another 10 bucks and you're pretty much done for the decade. The device needs about 2-5MB of data, which is incredibly cheap...
@@klamin_original he's not the brightest dude on the earth but very entertaining
@@grumblez But this behavior is actually harmful to a business, you can't just lie about stuff and publish it on the internet while earning money with it.
WARNING on those TPMS caps, they should only ever be used on METAL valve stems NEVER RUBBER ones (some even have that warning on the package or instructions now), I had a similar system a few years ago before they had the warnings, and the weight of one of the sensors pulled out my rear (rubber) valve stem on the highway at 65 mph leading to a very scary situation, once I pulled over I saw the front valve stem was starting to pull out as well.
So centrifugal force on a motorcycle wheel pulls inward toward the axle??? WEIRD!
@@mrbmp09 it happens, especially when they're older. Even the real long ones that are like 2 or 3 inches intended for steel car wheels with hubcaps will fail with time from the bending force... Had it happen to me! Only wheel with a long valve stem and it snapped off one day on the highway!
wait did he buy his wife of the web????!?
7:46 excellent point, no one gives a rats behind about an alarm anymore, you might even get a good samaritan/pissed off neighbor to help the thief shut the alarm off, its so annoying. LOL
That little beef jerky exchange edit had me dying lmao. The timing of it was hilarious!
I think for the gps thing, you can just buy a prepaid sim for super cheap.
Yeah I think they're stupid. Sorry, but they haven't even bothered to read the description of the Amazon listing.
I must be crazy to think the brake light is super awesome lol, too bad something like that wasnt incorporated into helmets already.
I had that exact same front and rear camera on my last bike. Was actually really good and it helped me with insurance when a van pulled out infront of me causing a collision. The picture quality is not the best but they good enough
Not the choice for details like the plate number of the car that hit you and ran off, but great for proving that a car _did_ hit you, you didn't just decide to fall over in the road for the hell of it.
Technically that Bluetooth headset for your helmet can work with the discord app. You can have a whole chat set up with over a dozen riders. Great concept
Would be great for areas with cell service but areas with spotty service ie where riders typically go would be useless. Cardos are amazin

Regarding the alarm, I agree that no one pays much attention to the sound other than to be annoyed - I work on a college campus and car alarms go off all the time without anyone so much as batting an eyelash other than to roll their eyes - if it notifies the owner? THAT would be a great thing
But even if it notifies the owner: as you said, car alarms go off all the time.
So after how many falls alarms do you stop caring?
The full frontal got me. This guy is actually hilarious if you watch enough videos to get his humor.
The $16 alarm is a great little gadget. I bought it for my sister's $300 trashy moped. Hid it under the front fairing. It isn't meant to be amazing. Just good enough to make someone second guess stealing.

That good ol' scar on the calf from that mid-pipe burn. Felt great.
I'm in Australia and recently bought the Brake Free helmet light from the USA. 3 settings of (60 small but bright red) led brightness. Lasts about 10 hrs and is charged by micro USB uses a gyroscope light up when you stop/slow. They were also on Shark Tank USA.
I have a motorized bicycle and this video sold me on the headphones (I use a dirt bike helmet, getting ear buds to stay in is a nightmare) and the theft alarm, I live in a city, and I've seen people try and jack my bike before seeing that it's locked up. I'm more an e-bike/ motorized bicycle person, but eventually I'd like to get a cheap motorcycle, so You've earned a sub from me.
I bought a non-Bluetooth, Brake Free helmet. All red lights, about the size of a couple small fists, with sensors that make the lights go crazy when they detect descelleration or a lot of head movement. While riding in light rain down town, a utility man in a van pulled up to me at a light and said how the extra lights made me much more noticeable in traffic.
I live in Phoenix AZ and my bike got stolen Newyears eve. They just walked up picked it up and layed it on the trailer. Wish I had that alarm lol
Haha that bike alarm. When I bought my bike it had that exact alarm on it lol
The alarm looks great for someone that doesn't need an alarm on their bike typically, but wants one for travels and such.
There are dedicated cellular services available that are much cheaper, you can find them around 12-23 bucks a month, I've heard of as low as 6 bucks but that was a long tie ago. May be a solution to the GPS unit for some people who liked the idea but thought the cost of service was too high.
That Bluetooth headset is one of my biggest and favorite purchases lol
the surface tablet said "It's a windows, don't steal me" haha
Those Bluetooth coms are great. They work flawlessly and help with wind noise being the cover the ear.
Hey the picture of the muffler burn protection on your calf got my attention immediately. I had the great idea to make a doeskin bandana for my neck when riding. Unfortunately doeskin at 80 mph turns into a bull whip to ears and face. Has recently burnt my calf on hot pipes. So I thought to move from my neck to my leg. Worked wonderfully, except for the looks and comments it garnered at the the local biker bar.
You are very right on the bike theft aspect, they are indeed just rolling them into trailers and loading them into truck beds and then bypass the ignition at another location or part it out. The sound of that alarm is enough to draw attention and hopefully deter a thief. Well worth the asking price.
Amazon should sponsor this guy once in his lifespan.he's so obsessed with Amazon market buying. It'll be awesome... Petition for sponsorship

I have those trackers on every vehicle i own and even my camping generator, i use the aldi payg phone plan, its $20aud per year worth of credit since the plan has 365 day expiry, and the device only uses credit when youre actually actively tracking it and watching the live feed. They're absolutely worth it and definitely dont cost $600 in phone plans to run it

A so called friend gave me a set of the tire gauges and insisted I put them on right then. I did and hey! They worked . We took a ride and in the middle of town , my rear tire went flat. That bike Alarm is pretty good. If you mount it perfectly on the frame its pretty sensitive.
