No Craig. Not you too. You and Sean my two favorite motorcycle content creators. Don’t sell out to this spyware company that baits people with cheap products made using slave labor.
Temu buys up "failed" product lines. They don't make this stuff one at a time. They make massive batches of them. Now you might get one of the good ones or you might not. Its why everything is so cheap.
Just watched a video on how temu works, they “make” things to order, they don’t pre make anything and store it, they just post a crap ton of stuff that can be made, and then when you order they order from the manufacturer, that’s why things take so long to get to you. Check out the video titled “how temu took over America” it explains
Y'all need to chill, Craig is answering questions and making content that we could only dream to make. @@darkiee69 it’s a little different when its essentially run by the government. There is a a whole host of problems with government run enterprises. Every company in China has a “Commissar” basically a communist party official that tells the company what it can and can’t do or how it can spy for the government. Second China is treated by the world as a 3rd world country even though it is not because it has a large GDP, a space program, and the largest military in the world that is technologically advanced. The 3rd world status legally gives China Discounted and Subsidized Mail Cargo Rates through the International Postal Convention (I believe is a UN program) which the USA pays most of the money. They either pay nothing for actually receive money back on shipping through this program. This is how they can ship from China for so cheap, they are subsidized by this program and other and your items that should be $20 are now $3-$4 dollars. @@tristenevans6370 It wouldn't be the first successful channel to destroy itself by advertising this cheap junk. And if you read the comments, I'm far from the only one who doesn't like it at all.
I see most comments regarding Temu has already covered most misgivings people have with Temu, I'll just say that if my local mechanic sourced Temu parts and used them on my bike, I'd be a bit... let's say I'd find a new mechanic. You do you Craig, love your content, but remember how you've had problems on bikes that were caused by shady/fake/faulty "new" parts? Looking forward to the next video 👍
I haven't seen negative comments like this since the Yammie collaboration. There's certain parts you need to spend the money on Not sure I want a budget chain on my bike. Or a budget top end. That being said, I picked up a Russian Ural carb clone on Ebay (not from Temu) for 55 bucks. I put it on a 70's Triumph and it's been working great.
I don't trust these parts. When Craig drilled into the foot peg and found those cavities, I instantly thought about a recent recall scandal involving Boeing and Airbus. About a month ago there was a news story that said a parts supplier for Boeing found small holes in "titanium" that was was made in China. The holes happened because of corrosion. You gotta give Craig credit for having the guts to make this video considering the audience. It's actually great that he did this, because his video exposes how bad these parts are, the bad shipping, the poor workmanship and machining. Seeing that will convince people not to buy. Because let's be real, there are people out there that say they would never buy this stuff from China, but end up buying it anyway because they can't afford to pay for a good quality part at the moment.
I am actually amazed at how much backlash this video got in comments. I have used Temu once but did not like it at all - so many red flags. Looks like I am not alone.
I don't think I will bother. I take it you have heard the allegations about Temu stealing data and card details as well as totally bypassing the Android permissions.....
I dont know HOW you "take it" that way. It's pretty obvious that he DIDN'T know about their business and labor practices, or he wouldn't have made the video. I didn't know either, I'm just hearing it for the first time here. But I don't buy things online. Too many data breaches.
I have to say I was surprised to see this channel promote Temu and my initial reaction was of great disappointment. I read plenty of comments against and a few for the sponsor, mainly centred around the channel making some money. I sat on it for 24 hours and educated myself on the issues with Temu. I find myself unable to agree with the decision to promote Temu. It is easy to justify sponsorship as making a bit of extra money but somewhere there is a line. In the video description, the blurb starts with "politics aside..." Fair enough. I can agree with that. Promoting a company that sells cheap and virtually disposable items....hmm...well, each to the own though I do in general try a buy stuff that will last. But what I can't agree with is promoting an App that has opaque data practices and data mining practices. This channel choose to associate themselves with these practices so I choose to unsubscribe and will no longer watch any if their content.
I love your videos, been watching since bikes and beards, but recommending Temu is a bad decision. Temu is actually forbidden on government phones because it's suspicious. Next to all their products being crap and also dangerous, you should be really careful or know what you're doing to order something from them. If i were to order chinese crap i'd just go to aliexpress, It's all the same crap but they have independent stores
This must be the least popular video from The Bearded Mechanic. I sure hope he learns from it. Not all sponsors are great for his channel. Trash products doesn't get better with promotions
Thank you for your sacrifice on ordering parts from Temu. I tend to order simple stuff and not engine parts, but it seems like it may be worth it for everything but carburetors.
After watching this upload, when I then went to Facebook, I get nothing but TEMU pop up ads, didn't even know about them until this. Had to do a full system scan and delete all cache files to stop them. FYI everyone before you look at this.
The problem with most of this stuff from places like Temu is that there's absolutely no quality control and it's made from the cheapest materials they can get away with, and machined and manufactured in the cheapest way possible. Some of the items that are already Chinese-made existing brands may even be sourced from the same factories, the difference being the complete lack of quality control and support from the companies who actually sell them. It may be cheap, but when it either falls apart with use or just doesn't work to begin with, it's still a waste of time and money.
If you made a video announcing you will never ride motorcycles ever again it would be less surprising than making a video shilling Temu. Honestly this is about as off brand as you can get.
I've never had any dealings with Temu. I have bought a few products from Wish. I'm gonna assume Temu is pretty similar ? Personally I would never buy any products that could harm you if they failed. Like brake parts. The main things I'll buy through Wish are LED lights. Ive purchased many different types and always had good luck. Would I recommend them to other people ? Probably not. It's buyer beware. I'm not gonna stop watching Craig over this momentary lapse of reason. If it becomes a regular thing I might change my mind. He's not pushing cheap products down your throat. He didn't try to hide anything like the leaking carb or handlebars that should be used on a bicycle, not a dirt bike. If you can get things like grips for half the cost, why not ? You just need to be sensible with your purchases. Like anything else really.
Craig, you are one of two channels I actually subscribe to, and one of very few places I even comment. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were unaware of Temu's practices and how predatory they as a company are. It was a poor decision to accept Temu sponsorship. Please do better background checks on your future sponsors. I'm really disappointed you would push Temu. You're better than this, don't sell your soul to these people. If you need money to support the channel, open a patreon account or something, just not Temu.
@user-jk6rp4qe8q it isn't, but unless you have no internet present which you have one as you are one youtube, which is owned by Google which is owned by Alphabet. The only reason why people are so on that company is the fact that china has made not hidden the fact that they collect data from companies. While the US will duck and dodge and lie and say no when they do
Craig, I've always enjoyed your videos, with the exception of this one endorsing Temu. I made my comments, and waited a week to see if you'd give any answer. With a new video out and no comment on your part concerning Temu, I am sadly unsubscribing. Many of us were bothered by your Temu Endorsement; and many of us commented about it. That you've chosen not to say anything about sticking with Temu/not sticking with Temu I now have the feeling that individuals subscribing to your channel may not be that important to you. For those complaining about the sponsor, take a step back and realize you're watching virtually free, high-quality videos that he uploads consistently and You-tube simply doesn't pay much per view anymore.
This hurts the economy of other countries and their workers and is one of the ways China cheats the world.

You do you Craig, love your content, but remember how you've had problems on bikes that were caused by shady/fake/faulty "new" parts? Looking forward to the next video 👍
So disappointed with a Temu sponsored video from Craig. I want to stay subscribed but… So torn.
Killing local business with often fake parts. Such a shame as it’s not always about the absolute cheapest $$parts.

@@JeffKopis that's total bs, look at his edit, he knew how scummy temu is but he wanted their money anyway. He's a shill.
Let the era of fast fashion but with fast motorcycle parts begin. Living wages? Who needs em. Quality control? What’s that!?
