- I'm a huge fan of the Goths but they tend to struggle in the early game... In Imperial though, they can face off against the best and this game shows if it is possible to beat the power of the Slavs!

T90 your casting really adds a lot of fun and excitement to these games. Playing irl almost feels boring in comparison because there’s no one shouting “What are you DOOOing man?” or “Not like this, NOOooo!”.
T90 needs to do a voice pack for a commentary AI.

Watching a successful Goth flood is one of the most satisfying things to see in AoE2. The massive battles; the stream of units flowing from the Barracks; the sudden turn-around to the game flow when the Goth counteroffensive begins; the increasingly desperate actions of the enemy, who thought they were winning only minutes before.
It's magical, man.

To be fair, the Slav got plenty of opportunity to win the game but keep screw it up with those wall.

I was just looking at GTA 1 gameplay which was also release in 1999 and it made me realise how well this game has aged graphically.

That was nice. Goths are my fave civilization just because of the spamming of infantry, the wave sometimes can be overwhelming

I recently played with Birmans and I think they are also a very strong infantry civilisation which in my opinion is even capable of fighting of Goths. (Full Infantry blacksmith upgrades + 1 extra damage for infantry for each age up)

Meh. Preferred the production overview on the righthand side. It's nice to have things selected and highlighted

Goths is my favorite civ, so i have never played without Goths
Mine too. Huscarls are basically cheats vs the AI. Spam them, skirms and halbs. Huscarls themselves are probably the best raiding unit in the game once they get in cuz static defense like town centers, towers and castles do nothing against them so they easily run through the entire economy.
Plus I come from a place called "land of the goths" lol.

@@Jonathan-bu7iv I think that Mayans or Incas eagles are way better for raiding. They have the same amount of armor but faster than Huskarls
@@Bolt86 Not by a long shot. They're vastly more expensive gold-wise, slower to build (even ignoring the Goth barracks bonus and perfusion) have weaker attack vs buildings (except Aztec eagles with Garland Wars, but they lack staying power) but what really makes Huskarl raiding so OP beyond the insane pierce armour is the double-whammy of them being so cheap that very little can counter them cost-effectively (especially in a raiding scenario where you have to pin them down as Huskarls aren't slow) and their sheer spammability. A Goth player can foreward three barracks, and totally ruin your eco in minutes. You can't do that with Eagles. You'd need eight or more barracks and a way stronger eco to produce the same spam, and that means either your opponent has way more time to notice it and deny, or you have to send an insane amount of vils forward to get it done, which is very risky and is hurting your eco which is not exactly sound strategy if you want to follow up with extremely pricey eagle spam. A Goth player can send two vils to each side of their opponents base, and even if they only get up two barracks each it'll be death by a thousand cuts for almost any civ.
Don't get me wrong. Eagles are good raiders, but they're not game-changing. Any faction with good Hussars or Paladins can do just as well raiding. But seriously the only thing that's worse to have in your base than Huskarl spam is Celtic or Mongolian ram-spam. Even then if you fight off the ram spam at least you know they're not to pop back up in fifteen seconds. Huskarl spam literally non-stop unless you can push back and take out their barracks, and not many civs have the tools to do it especially when those same barracks can spam champions and pointy boys for the same dirt-cheap price and at the same absurd speed.
The real power of Eagles is that you can start building them in Fuedal, use their mobility to avoid bad engagements, and snowball their numbers right up to IMP, constantly upgrading them and making them stronger. Especially as most Mezo civs have excellent infantry counters to throw in with them like slingers, Jaguars/Garland War Champs or Plumes.

it would be awesome if there was an easy way to watch the rest of the matches in the these series. Sometimes the match up of players will make me want to check out the other games. I know most dont make the youtube quality cut, but they could be uploaded as hidden videos, found by links in the description or at least a link with timestamps to twitch past stream.
Anyway, thanks bro, for making a chill game even chiller.

Hey T90, great content. I enjoy watching it, especially because of your knowledge of the game and overall positivity. There is a tiny issue tho. Your pronunciation of "Druzhina" hurts my ears. You shouldn't pronounce ZHI as ZEE. Listen how google translate pronounces Дружина. Do it for all of your russian speaking community members =).

in google translate it sounds more like Droo-djeh-na. But ж (zh) is a tough one anyhow. :D
Well in all truthfulness he's an English speaker, so I don't mind him pronouncing it using his own range of sounds. He doesn't use a British accent to pronounce Longbowmen right 11? His pronunciation in nahuatl is also pretty bad (just watch him say Atlatl), but does that really matter? The correct pronunciation of Atlatl can be derived from the following vid btw: th-cam.com/video/Rm3kL788k3U/w-d-xo.html
But the English equivalent does exist: s as in measure, vision, so it should be favored compared to "z".

Noob question here. Was it not possible for Fatdragon to counter MBL's infantry with something else? Like scorpions?
Sorry this came weeks later but in this particular situation scorps would've been extra bad. MBL could easily make a fast transition into Huskarls, which have insanely high resistance to arrows and projectiles.

@Sarkis Armenian Yeah I did - i meant add a defensive castle in the back for Boyar production, but no idea if this would be efficient. I'm just a pleb ^^
@@bronzekoala9141 Goths have cheap halbs too, so it would cost Vivi more to switch to Boyar than it would Mbl to switch to halb.

Thanks for uploading but the overlay is way too big, it is really annoying, especially for youtube. The Chat for example is pretty pointless and takes up a ton of space.
