Hey I'm planning to replicate this but on a larger scale 20 x 20 holding 400 cars ... Will the foam board hold up ... This would be supported with a outer casing made with hardwood
This looks great!! But how do you cut the foam board with such clean and smooth edges??? I always end up with very jagged and rough edges as the blade snags. Any tips??
Instead of cutting small vertical dividers, wouldn't it be easier to prepare all horizontal and vertical dividers and then cut out the half of their depth in crossing places, jam them together and add glue at the end?
@@cheyenneallen4901 I don't think he is making fun of him. Most Hot Wheels or display shelves are extremely expensive. I think the original poster was stating this is a good cheaper option for those who can't afford or do not want to spend a fortune.
Great idea for custom size shelves that can fit bigger 1:64 models like the team transport haulers. Personally I find getting the Plano cases more cost effective because they have a cover for them to keep the dust out and they're pretty inexpensive as well. There about $7 or less on a good day and can hold 24 cars. What a great tip on making a cost effective display nonetheless.
You can use thin acrylic and just clear tape it on top of the shelf. That way, less dust build up on the cars. Mine doesnt have cover but it doesnt get too much dust. A little swip of feather duster does the job.
That is absolutely stunning wow that came out very nice you have extremely talented to able to make that I could never make that and have it come out that nice CONGRATULATIONS STAY SAFE BUDDY AND GOD BLESS
Very good video my man!! I don’t know you personally, but I am very proud of your work! Truly amazing talent you got there son!! I had to watch this video twice, I enjoyed it so much!
Nice idea. I’m running out of shelf space so I might look into building a few for the wall, I have shelfs that are stands for floor but is hard to see them individual like you could with a wall mounted shelf
All my wall cases has covers over them and if I made some of those cases like you made, I would want to put covers over these because my wife and son smokes and I don't want it to mess up the cars.
i love this great job!! i want to make my grandsons some but the double lines look complicated i wish that you showed how each line was drawn and measured though
Nice.. Great idea, inexpensive and looks good.. I’ve been looking at cases for a while, I have over 200 cars and they’re all in drawers where I can’t enjoy looking at them..I’m going to make 6, hope they come out as good as yours . Thanks for the tips👍
Very good job bro here in California they are so expensive a guy sale 150 cars display for 120 dollars...to much. Your idea it's verer and no to expensive thanks..
You could probably get some clear gift wrap---from Dollar Tree for $1`a roll Pull the clear wrap tight, tape on the back of the display case , and then hang display case on the wall
@@bapadyak9448 you never say the measurement for that part. You also don’t mention the size of the skinny lines but I deduced it was .5 cm as you state the board thickness is .5 cm
@@bapadyak9448 , keep it up and more power to you. you would surely ran out of wall space in putting your ever growing collections. btw, do you have a "main line" in collecting? are you collecting a certain model or genre or motorsport?
I’m making a giant one out of 2 sheets of this stuff cuz it’s cheap if I need a third board I’ll just go buy one. 1 board is the frame and backing the other board is for the grid
Wow. This was excellent. I am 45 years old and just starting my collection. This is the best solution I have seen. Wonderful job!
Scott.
Thanks. Will do update soon.
True.
This is a game changer right here! My 4 year old son has a collection of over 200 cars and one big empty wall. Problem solved! Thanks man!
Very cheap, easy to make display for you sons growing collection. Thanks
Damn.........200 already and only 4 years wow
Really appreciate this great project...Sure beats the rip off prices of $30 to $50 charged by companies!!!
Surely do!! $5 plus 30mins of work is really worth it!!
It really does lol

I think it will be harder for me coz foam board have a .5cm thickness. I think this is most easier for me. Its always up to you. Thanks for the idea.
Finally a affordable display for a 17 year old 😂
Very affordable and fun looking. I will make a video on my updated display shelves.

Its easy to mount too. I use velcro they call it. Its a 3M product you can but at walmart as well.
What type of glue do you find works best? Glue stick, hot glue, or white Elmer’s glue?
Elmers glue works fine with the project.
Very creative brother! Thanks for sharing the idea!
Thanks brother i appreciate it much.

Thank you I like ur display case I been looking for something easy to make for my Hot Wheels
Nice! Will make a video on the update of my wall soon. Thanks for watching.
What did you use to cut it can I use a razor blade
Good idea for low budget without glass/acrylic protector 👍🎉🥳
Wow,thanks for the video it looks really nice. Going to build one for my sons cars. Was going to do it out of wood but this looks nicer.
If you are handy man, wood is so much better that foam board. Plus, you can add lights to them as well.
How you cut em s straight I did one and it looks so messy
That’s pretty awesome. You inspired me to make these for my own collection. 😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! Have fun always!
amazing work. Gonna try and make one!
Nice! Thanks for watching.
Is a measuring mat needed or is using a ruler or measuring tape just fine?
Its fine without using cutting mat but precise cutting is what cutting mat does for the project.
Will this all be cut on 1 sheet of foam board?
Yes.
20in by 30in elmers foam board
this is brilliant work, well done! super smart and resourceful, i think i'll give this a shot for my small car collection. :)
Nice! Thanks for watching.
Great idea 💡
Project I will try to do tris weekend
Nice. Get good cutter then outcome is really great.
Is one foam board enough to build this display?
Yessir!!
Bro,,, whadid u use to attach the case with wall?
Great Idea, really helpful.
How would be the best way to put a plastic window on front of the case
Thought of it as well so dust free collection!! Hehehe

This is so good my friend
Thank you my friend

How many foam boards do you need
I only need one 20”x30” board for one shelf.

I tried doing this at first with cardboard and didn't work, I tried foam board and it did. It makes it look good 2.
Its neat when you use elmer’s foam board. And plus, use a sharp cutter.
