- Decided to take the go pro out and record my trip around town. I dont see many 4.56 videos on here so I figured I'd help the Fbody community

That thing is BEAST with those gears. My LS1/T56 Firebird still has the factory stock 3.42 gears. Which are sluggish by comparison, LOL.
Some 373s or 390s would be sweet
Gears are the BEST mod for the 6 speeds
Aren't they stock with 3.23s?

I run the 4.10s. I cant go any higher than that. 4.56s would be ideal for a really high revving engine.
4.56 with 28" tires was pretty comparable to running 4.10's on stock tires.

i have had a terrible time with traction on my 4.56. i run a 28 inch tire.
ThunderHead289 the sticky tires and rear suspension setup helps a lot . It does struggle with the nitrous on the street however.
15-85 in about 6-7 seconds
I've got some richmond 4:10s but I have to buy the installation kit for it and swap my stuff out with posi set up. Goodbye limited slip.
What do you think this car would do in the 1/4 mile assuming decent traction 1.8-2.0 60'? Must be in the 12s with being relatively stock engine components?
I bested a 12.5 with a 1.7 60’ with Hoosier QTP. Car went 10.6 on spray with the same setup .

Great on the highway. 28" tires was around 1900 at 80 mph in 6th, with 26" tires it was about 2200
6th gear is so tall you can still street drive these with a 4.56 but get a 4.10 for less hassle i had to basically skip gears on hard pulls with mine

I'm saving up to get an ls1 camaro. Only thing that's making me nervous is the rear differential
Definitely should be an early mod. Strange s60 with a 4.10, adjustable Lca and lca relocation brackets and a sticky tire. You'll love it
the rears in 82-02 cars make anyone nervous lol
Get a girdle cover and it'll be fine
A girdle cover will help a little but not much especially in a M6
