This car represents the era when we, as kids and young adults, absolutely lusted after our favorite "cool" muscle cars of the day. They were attainable, if you saved, and you didn't have to finance them for 10 years in order to pay them off. I fell in love with the Z-28 in the mid 90's after seeing them driven by people that I thought were cool. I still have my '99 Z-28 to this day, and don't plan on selling it.

My dad's first "for me" purchase after finishing residency was to buy a convertible '95 Z28 M(anual)6 (brand new at the time) and "teenager it out" (his words) supercharger and he had a borla put on,. sounded mean, 450 hp. 17 year old me was a little nervous to ask for the keys, which he eventually let me drive. Was his daily until he parked it about 5 years ago because his commute was stop and go, and he was getting older, my younger brother is driving it back and forth to school now, or at least was, until it started dying under load. Love that car, I have a '97 35th Anniversary that I bought from a salvage place. Very fun car, not a lot to work with as far as space would be my only complaint.

They're also pretty inexpensive to mod and the LS1 especially makes great power from mods. My 02 SS just has a cam, headers, and true duals and it's making 402 at the wheels, all for $1300 if you do it yourself. People that like the car search for it and are now hooked. Then he adds, I think I will hang onto it. Something the youtube audience is now interested in because they want to see him talk more about the car ‘they’ loved. With 11 million subscribers the secret sauce to youtube is working. Good video and I really enjoyed it. My perspective, as someone who was heavily into the Mustang, Camaro and Firebird scene back it those days and still owns the 1994 Mustang that I bought in 1995, is that with these modern (for the 1990's) muscle cars it really isn't so much about what kind of power or handling that they had from the factory, but more so about the potential that they have when they're modified.
These cars were fairly inexpensive to own back when they were new, had decent power and handling and responded very well to simple (inexpensive and expensive) modifications. Check out some of the old car magazine articles from Car Craft, Hot Rod, Muscle Mustang's and Fast Ford's, etc. from back in the 90's and it will put why people bought (and raced) these cars into a better perspective.

The only hard repair was pulling the fuel tank , for 7 grand one could rebuild the motor top to bottom , new high lift cam, headers, simple porting of the heads, relap the valves, stiffer springs and have a 450- 500 hp motor, new tires, high stall converter + up graded fuel system.. Parts are dirt cheap for that motor. Wizard quotes high on every bill , he pissed around getting the fuel tank out as it was his first one. Anyone who has done it before knows you pull everything out less than 2 hrs out and in, unless it's a old rust bucket..Hovies channel is just about him doing stupid things and over paying, but, he can wright it off on his business expenses so it's not costing him jack shit in the long run.
