LS1 T-56 F-Body | drive-ability of 4.10 gears | Daily Drivable??

Daily driving with 4.10 gears in my 1999 Pontiac Firebird Formula. Most people think these gears are too low for daily driving, but I disagree and enjoy them. Especially with the 6 speed, 6th has more than enough interstate pulling power and still gets good MPG.

I had a 94 z28 with a 383stroker 6spd and 4:10gears. I daily drove everyday. I tell you, she didn't like going into 6th of you weren't doing 80+ lol. Loved that car and miss it.

4.10's are the perfect gear for stock 6 speed LS1's, excellent daily drivability, and still great mpg on the highway.

I love my 4.10s, perfect behind a 6 speed, not the strongest option in the 10 bolt though 😂

as someone who daily drives a lt1 ws6 its a great daily just tough on gas once you start pushing power on them

What’s your gas mileage in city and town look like . I Daly drive a 95 bird lt1 with a 6 speed and get about 10 mpg combined ?

@@mgpchannel9479 around the same tbh i think in between 10-12mpg just depends on if your being easy on it or not im planning on picking up another 98-02 car soon the gas mileage doesn't bother me the only thing does is that almost every fbody in existence has the floating the gauge so you can never really tell how much gas you have unless sitting still on a flat surface

3.73's are better for an auto especially if you go with a 3200 stall

@magnus462 4l60e has a 1st gear of 3.06 so the 4.10 gears may be too short for that, 3.73 will be marginally better

Ditch the 4L60 extremely weak trans. Even built I've even them fail with only bolt ons
