Nigeria music industry NEVER kicked out foreign music. Private investors came into the industry. We learnt from foreigners (Americans mostly). We didn't achieve what we achieved with envy or hatred. You can't improve in isolation. You need to appreciate "the grace" successful people already have.
When the Westerners dominated your airwaves you had no such discussions of boycotting them, Nigeria never and will never kick out no one.....we only live each day to be better than yesterday, what you see in the Nigerian entertainment industry is the result of many years of hard work. Africa isn't even ready for us yet 😪
MR. Presenter point of correction Nigeria did not kick out any artist to get to were we are. The secret to dis success was that we improved on our music that was all. When our music improved we suddenly lost interest in foreign music. Nigerian government don't have time for any policy on entertainment. We worked on our crafts which took us over 20years which is now paying off now. And if ur telling me we kicked out foreign content, Pls show me evidence or screen shot of any policy of such.
Could it be that the market has decided and these artist are better? Nigeria is a massive country with a long arts history. You don't see Swissland trying to compete with the US in music and movies.
i swear i dont get it. You cannot make policies to rid international acts. If they do this, Ugandans will not go for shows. These Nigerian musicians sometimes headline their shows. What they need to do is to support their own. Play their music, invest in their own talent and the whole world will come.
