We may have strong cultural differences in BRICS but we all feel the same about this and respect each other soberany, is just a matter of time to all the projects are finalized. There needs to be balance. The world has for too long been under the dominance of the US backed alliance because of its economic and military hegemony. As a European, I'm not overly enthused about an alliance where a country like Russia plays a significant role, but at this point, I'm willing to entertain the notion that any kind of counter to US led control might at least force a restructuring of the global order, which is much needed in light of what's happening in the middle east.

    • @revol148

      @ChrisAlbertH47 agreed but be careful what you wish for: a world dominated by China concerns me. Russia is not even a contender - their economy is smaller than Italy ! As for Brazil - they have been on the verge of a first world country since the late 1970's and South Africa is pretty much over now that the blacks have taken control and driven its economy into the ground which white south Africa predicated it would back in the 1980's.

    • @ChrisAlbertH47
      @ChrisAlbertH47 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      @@revol148 China can be a cause for concern, but they have been more willing to play within the lines so to speak when it comes to international relations. So I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. And since BRICS is more of an economic alliance as opposed to a military or security alliance, there is more incentive to play nice with each other if common arrangements that can be collectively beneficial can be reached.
      My personal desire is just to see the growth of a strong economic institution to challenge the dollar.

      Became too stupid to see a decade ahead. Was truly great until the 70's - then it woke up every day, told itself it was still great, and did nothing. Couple years ago it realised another country was catching up and decided all it could do was a global smear campaign to keep them down while they try to figure out how to be great again.
      Trump might actually be the best thing for America. History always shows great tyrants leading a country to power.
